Give it a try. For rank and file it is great. For character models I still layer paint.

Thats how its done! Making it look as easy as it is. Now that your viewers see the recipe all they have to do is learn some brush control, and that's all done by putting in the time!

I was a late starter on the speed paints, but I am a major convert now. They really do make the rank and file painting super fast.

How are you overcoming the Speedpaint reactivation issue? I have to gloss varnish over the Speedpaint before applying any paint that’s not Speedpaint.

I am doing it largely the same way. Although I don’t find it really all that problematic to put on the odd varnish layer. I do hear the new formulation will not reactivate so the issue should be a thing of the past soon enough.

Really inspiring! Are these the Victrix Old Guard?

Yes. Not as awesome as most Victrix kits but still better than most Napoleonic plastics.

Thanks for the info. Nice alternative techniques for speeeeed. How long did it take you to paint this battalion, not including drying time? It takes me a month and a half to do a 24 man battalion layering, oof, but its meditative for me.
