    You must be really proud of these shots but what is even more impressive is your standard of cinematography. I love the little pauses where you just film yourself taking a little break and waiting. Usually I hate slow-mo but these really work as they are just brief and illustrative of what much of landscape photography is about; its not all about staring at a histogram.

    Another great vlog Gary, glad you stopped on the way up, don't think anyone could of resisted that one !
    Oh yes well worth waiting for... The light on the trees... You were lucky to have it all to yourself, there's normally loads of picnicers, even numpty's swimming in the pools...

    That lovely bridge which people come from miles away to capture - you really don't like it?!! ... sssshhhh don't tell anyone, but, dare I whisper? Neither do I, well, in terms of an image that is 😊👍

    • @GaryNormanPhoto
      @GaryNormanPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      D Griff Gallery exactly! It’s a nice enough bridge but it covers the falls too much, image wise.

      Cheers mate, I feel like perhaps my editing style has slightly changed over the past couple of vlogs and I'm definitely finding myself filming a lot more b-roll on location. I must contact Adidas about my contract ;-)

    Another cracking video, i have been going to Snowdonia for well over ten years now and have yet to visit the Watkin path. :o A little tip re the 3 stop ND filter. If you have one, just use a 3 stop grad turned upside down. :)

    One of your best ever videos, superb images, you must be pleased with all the shots, where does the Watkins path actually start Gary, I must do this walk soon, regards.

    • @GaryNormanPhoto
      @GaryNormanPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      colin clewley if you drive past Llyn Dinas towards Llyn Gwynant there’s a car park on the right just before the Llyn (it’s actually called Watkin Path car park in Google maps) From there you head back on foot towards Dinas over a small bridge and cross the road. You’ll then see the gate where the path starts 👍

    To be honest, I struggled with that bridge. As nice as it looks by eye, trying to convert it into an image is quite challenging.
    Really enjoyed the video Gary, especially the B roll. Did you colour grade? As it looked superb.
    Talk soon mate 👍

    • @GaryNormanPhoto
      @GaryNormanPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree mate, I think it's because it's so angular compared to the rest of the scene, also it obscures some of the best of the falls behind. I did colour grade it mate, I used one of the Lutmaster presets, but I can't remember which one of the top of my head...

    Spoiler Alert : I laughed at that point :) That 15 mins seemed to go very quickly if I am honest, so I must have enjoyed it. I'll be honest when I visited the aqua pool and bridge earlier this year I felt very much the same about the bridge - although I did take the shot. In that location I would lve to see them build a little packhorse bridge, what a transformation that would be - but I am just being a fussy togger I suppose. There was one other photographer there when I reached it and he was sat just looking and taking snaps with his mobile.. .. as I chatted to him I found out he was with a workshop led by David Ward & Valda Bailey. At the time of speaking with him he had an exhibition on at Joe Cornish's gallery so I felt a little out of place with witrh small 4/3rdss set up so wandered off..lol. Anyway, I enjoyed what you took at that spot and the earlier shots walking up.... It's a pity you didn't get further up, I managed another hour of walking before coming back - it flattened right out a bit further up - next time go staright for it!

    • @GaryNormanPhoto
      @GaryNormanPhoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alan Coles next time I’m definitely heading further up!! I don’t mind the bridge itself but it gets in the way of the falls... I’m sure if you told that other tog who you were and showed him your Flickr feed he might have felt the same and wandered off himself 😉
