I can't speak for everyone, but the main reason why Rogue One is my favourite Star Wars movie is because it shows a lot of the Imperial's perspective, along with a lot of great characters which make a huge difference in the extended universe..
now that the sequel trilogy is done we need a movie shown entirely from the perspective of the empire, maybe following a hero of the empire if that's the way the directors want to take it. But none the less a movie that glorifies the empire and shows the rebels for what they really are; murderers, extremists and terrorists
@@jimparkin2345 Let's go even one step further - hit us with an "Empire of the Hand" Disney Plus series! (starring Thrawn and Ezra as the protagonists, stuck together in an uneasy alliance)
I honestly think Krennic would have been a bigger threat to the rebellion than Tarkin had he stayed in command of the Death Star. Tarkin sends out literally _a few_ TIE fighters against a rebel attack on the Death Star while Krennic deploys the _entire_ garrison on seeing a rebel incursion on Scarif. I think we know who would have won the war.
Krennic and Tarkin are more politicians then military leaders, but krennic is still much better "general" than Tarkin, if he deployed at least 1/4 of TIE fighters on deathstar, rebels would have no chance, + the deathstar shod have been surrounded by fleet of star destroyers
Also now the running joke is, if you go back and watch A New Hope, you'll see an empty chair where Krennic would have sat in the conference room when the top brass are talking about the Rebellion.
I mean, who's to say there wasn't a lot more TIE fighters around, right? Maybe they were scattered at the wrong side of the Death Star by mistake and had to traverse all the way back to the other pole just to take on the rest of the Rebels, and maybe by then it was already too late?

Rogue One is, somehow, the best Star Wars movie for me, even above each trilogies in their whole. It takes the best parts of the OT (the sort of glorious, legendary fight between good & evil), the Prequels (the space battles & score) and the Sequels (the visuals) and even some of what the fans love (the Empire being competent and scary) and mashed them all together.
