Buy a house with patience. Don’t just swing at one you like, there’s so many options. I learned this from my realtor, she showed me a house and I loved it and I was already going to me an offer but she said to wait and to look at other houses and I’m glad I waited because I am literally living in my dream house right now at a low price of 1600 a month!!!
Wow, I'm so jealous. I'm in california and I'm in the process of purchasing a home. Well, the market is crazy now but my monthly payment will be 3400. Rent in california is staggering.
Girl I feel that on such a strong level! If you're looking for this content right now - I would recommend checking out Monica Church's channel (shes actually friends with Jeanine!) - she bought a house last year, and she vlogged the whole process, the good and the bad! It was really helpful - she really knows her stuff! (so much so, she got her real estate license lol)
You are the fourth TH-camr moving from LA, feel like more people are realizing the materialistic side and life style of LA through covid, it’s a luxury to live there. From the different restaurants to the people, there’s this need to keep up with everyone while still trying to make it. This city is definitely meant for those who were born there because people who aren’t feel absolutely lonely there and now more without that materialistic lifestyle. I feel you’ll be much more happier in Dallas. God bless!
I found house #5 in 2 seconds (Texas Real Estate Agent) 😛 and it’s 525k. GIRL you will be able to find SO much more house if you look outside of Dallas. We’re in Mansfield (25ish mins from Dallas) and you could get a NEW build for 300k if you want!!
As another Dallas native, I’m curious as to why “the location was not my fav”. I mean like, did they show you houses in oak cliff? Or was it just that there wasn’t much around or to far from family?
I live in oak cliff🙄 we just moved here because it’s the most affordable house my parents found with a gated community, it’s not bad, it just depends which area in oak cliff
🤔affordable houses in Oakcliff...no way...houses there are going up $ crazy...there is a lot of construccion and renovations plus is 5 min away from dallas downtown area...you can find a bigger and cheaper house in other areas away from dallas....
@@shiaotzu3250 that’s literally what I said before moving here😂but the truth is, dallas is growing and changing a lot. Many people are moving here so when we went to look at house with a real este agent he said that the area that we used to live in they’re making it more for college students and people that work near downtown and areas like oak cliff and west Dallas, prices are going up like crazy because they want more middle income people to move here and lower income people to move somewhere else
We bought a new build a year ago & it was a “spec home” or called a “quick sell” home. It came with several upgrades & we got $10k off & only had to pay 3% closing costs! We are in love with it! Something to look into 😊
*I love how you edited the video like a Television episode and I agree with your point that you want to walk into a house and it immediately feels like home.*
Omg yay yay yay!!! Move close to Dani, so Stella can have her auntie Jeanine close by. You can also get roommates to help with rent! FYI I personally wouldn’t paint brick, brick is truly a timeless look and once you paint brick you have to paint it forever whereas that’s the beauty of non painted brick it’s timeless and you don’t have to keep up with it
I say keep looking. You can always change the house, however, you can’t change the location. It will be one of the biggest purchases of your life, so don’t settle. Find something with a pool if that’s what you want, find the layout you want, etc. Renovations can always make it your own but keep in mind they usually end up costing a lot more than they say they will. Good Luck!
Hi Jeanine, I'm from the DFW and my mom is a realtor. I don't know your exact price range for houses, but if you are looking to be in the city and in the heart of Dallas you'd be looking at older (preexisting) homes. However, from what I can see I can estimate the price range and I would suggest if you don't mind the drive to go to Dallas to look in the outskirts of the DFW. There is a lot of new communities near Frisco which include Aubrey, Anna, Prosper, and Wylie. There are a lot of incentives into moving to a new community and also a lot of good warranties, but if you are intending into buying a preexisting home I suggest in getting a good inspector (because sometimes the house may be a beautiful fixer upper, but sometimes the bones of the house aren't good). Anyways, I hope this advice was helpful! I love your videos and as always "Hook'em" 🤘🧡
I personally loved house #5 I just think it has so much character and so much potential for future videos on how you are renovating it. Especially if you like to host everyone will love going there in that open space. Good luck!
I’m 23 and bought a house in ATL when I was 22... it was a process finding the right home and we went under contract then backed out then God placed the perfect home. Saw it and was under contract in barely 24 hours The market is hot here But if your finances are set and you know you wanna I’m live in Dallas then buying isn’t as scary as people make it out Later on you could totally move again and keep that house as a rental or Airbnb and make a small profit while paying off the house then eventually having two properties Just things to think about!
Hi Jeanine, I just bought my first house before thanksgiving. I believe we are around the same age and believe me the whole house hunting and purchasing process is scary, nerve wrecking, and exciting. Who knew adulting was hard ? Lol. I would suggest making a list of the top 5 needs and wants. I know 5 is not a lot but it won’t be overwhelming. Location was a big thing for me too. The market in some places are great with low interest rates. So I know now is the time to buy! If location is key, I would say keep looking ! Something will come !! It took me 8 months to find a home with my top 5 needs. I’m going though renovations now and it’s a little stressful but will be worth it! I prayed to GOD that he would Guided me though the journey and the hurdles that may come with the process. You will find your house soon ! Good luck ! Love your channel! Big fan !!
This makes me happy. I think LA was good for you - moving away from home, living with roomies, living alone, stretching your wings, and finding your true purpose. But you have outgrown LA, and you light up when you go back to Texas.
I love this and wishing you the best on your home buying journey! I understand it's personal but it would be soo helpful if you talked about your budget and how to budget for the first time home buying. I understand Texas is a unique home buying market but I think it would be really helpful and transparent
Love that you are taking us along with your search! Take your time. You'll know when you find the one!! And TOTALLY look on Zillow when I'm bored too lol
What kind of Location are you looking for? Close to the city or maybe a suburb on the outskirts of the city? Definitely take your time! My husband and i almost bought a home and it fell through very last minute and I’m so happy it did because looking back now, we wouldn’t have been happy with the house or location. Good luck!
Woww! I’ve been subscribed for that long?! Lol Welcome back girl! You should check out Mckinney or Anna. They got nice affordable homes! Just got one in Anna. 10 ft. Ceiling which makes the house looks bigger!
My wife and I are moving their next month. Were in the market. Up to 370k. Im gonna be following your videos to get an idea of what were looking at. Were currently in washington state
My bf and I are buying a house right now in Dallas and y’all, it’s a nightmare! Granted, I’m sure not everyone has as much bad luck as we seem to, but this shit is NOT easy. We have been trying to buy a house since last September. The first house we backed out because the inspection came back bad. The second house we were under contract for MONTHS and the lending company wasn’t doing their job and we lost the house. Now, because we thought we were getting that second house and we put in notice to our apartment, we are living at a hotel until we can close on a different house! And with this house, we had problems with the listing agent being shady and trying to get the sale herself. Just be ready to deal with a bunch of bull shit when buying a house, especially right now. I didn’t even go into half of how much shit we have put up with because it would take forever!
Lived in Santa Monica since the summer 2019 and I’m ready to leave and go back home to Texas! ❤️so expensive here California is really beautiful though
I just subscribed. legit going through the home buying process in Dallas. getting started after the holidays so definitely interested to hear more about your journey and what you learn about this market!
currently just finished house hunting in dallas and moving the end of the month and i come on youtube and this came up in my recommended videos. its my fbi agents way of saying i need to watch your videos!!
I live in Dallas too. *PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE* if you're buying a old house that has been renovated too look amazing ask if the lighting, plumbing, and electrical have been updated as well!!! It'll save you headaches years to come
i loved your options! i have flipped homes with my dad who is a contractor hear in ohio. and i love the process the after is seriously the most glorifying feeling in the world
Love seeing this! You seem much happier when you are back home in Dallas. I’ve been following you for years (going back to when you posted high school cheerleading videos). Always enjoy your sweet/genuine personality! ❤️
Definitely wanting know more and everything! I just moved to Dallas about 1.5 years ago & now I'm thinking about buying a home. I just can't decide if I want a fixer upper or something already done or buying a brand new constructed home but those are like 30+ miles away from where I work so I want something closer to the city.
Girl!!! You’re not the only one looking through Zillow...SAME!! 😂 I would love to see your whole house buying process!! I love you Jeanine you’re such a positive inspiration!! 💜💜💜
I totally thought you would love house #5. I loved it. The WRL area is awesome. But then you mentioned character and I now see that is missing! We live in Plano and our house definitely has quirks/character ;)
Jeanine! TX girl over here :) Dallas is beautiful!! I suggest looking in the Lakewood area, which I’ve heard is the same area Dani Austin is around!! Try also the Lower Greenville area, or Victory Park area, which is actually the same area Catherine and Sean Lowe live!! Look into these areas, they’re very nice and you will not be disappointed!
I so agree with you. Los Angeles has changed so much so quickly and not for the better. I am moving out of LA after 20 years. I don’t want to pay a single penny more to the people that destroyed a once beautiful city. Sad.
The last house that you showed a clip from I believe is near white rock and if it’s that one that a real nice area! If you can afford it definitely look into it again!!
The only thing that sucks here in Dallas is that houses are selling like hot potatoes 😂.. when we bought our house we literally were under so much pressure to decide which one we wanted because there were so many offers submitted already. We submitted like 5 offers on 5 different houses and lost all those offers to other ppl. It’s is definitely stressful 😬
Loved the video but def just an advice don’t discard condos where you can renovate completely and still have a poool area and barbecue area as well ... not sure what the market price is in Dallas but in Houston there’s definitely options where it’s reasonable to buy a condo (just depends on your lifestyle ☺️)
I moved to the Dallas area with my fiancé a few months ago after graduating college and accepting jobs... it is definitely so expensive to buy a house! Even to rent!
The house market has gone crazy. Out of 25 homes I’ve looked at, I’ve been outbid twice. One I know was 12k over asking. The 23 others were very odd as is people haven’t been taking care of their property. (Arlington, TX)
One more thing you should know about moving to Dallas! Recently, "3 thousand migrants" (and I"m NOT just talking hispanics - I"m hispanic with family out there)... are being housed at the Kay Bailey Hutchison convention center ... a lot of teenage boys from 15-17. This could very well change the fabric of society out there - you need to know this because you are spending your hard earned $ and should be aware.
What about buying a condo in Dallas? I feel like the market right now is insane and all the good places are getting bought. Plus, with getting a condo, not as much upkeep! I currently have a condo in the Oak Lawn area and been looking at buying a bigger space. Depending on your budget, there are definitely some cute places in this area with lots of natural light!
Love this as well and I also agree to please talk more about this process! We will be house hunting soon, so will be interesting to see what the whole process is like! Don't leave out any details! :D
Just now seeing this video, but I still love it! My husband and I are currently house hunting in Orlando and it's expensive! Hope everything works out for you, girl!
Frisco and Mckinney are the best places to buy real estate. Bought my house back in July in Mckinney and process was quick. .anything south of 635 will be $700k plus with small square footage...im a State Farm agent staff member, let me know for insurance
Video is great I’m currently looking to leave LA to buy a home in Dallas as well! It would be useful if you talked about the locations each house was in and the pros and cons because unlike you I’m not from Dallas 🥴😂. Thank you so much!
I live in Dallas and this is exciting to watch! I feel like a lot of great places would be in frisco/legacy/plano/richardson?! Definitely north of the city and more suburban! Areas in the city would be like uptown/highland park but it's pretty expensive. There's tons of areas with newly renovated houses so hopefully you find the perfect one!!
@@JeanineAmapola lol you know I’m from LA and my family moved to Dallas....well Lewisville/Flower Mound area 15 years ago. I miss Los Angeles as everyone is over there but, if I had the right finances I would love to live in Frisco/Prosper just because they’re still developing those areas! But will be keeping you in my prayers and asking God for clarity, peace, and grace for this season in your life🙏🏽.
@@funnydayz ive only seen snow like once or twice a few years back, Ive lived in fort worth about 13 years, i dont know much about dallas i live in fort worth, i think it has more probability of snowing there because its more north?
Were you looking all over Dallas or were there specific neighborhoods that you were looking at? Would love to know if there were specific areas that you were kinda gunning for

Cheap house for sale in Georgia
Please make a video about the process of buying a house, etc.! Like why don’t they teach us these things in school!! Ugh so scary

You should look in West Richardson. They have cozier houses.

The process sucks lol! We just bought a house in Forest hills next to white rock lake and it was a pain in the butt!
You should definitely look into Frisco/Allen/Plano! All the best ❤️
I was going to suggest Plano! I grew up there & the market is good!
Hello, can I ask how much that house #5 is and where is it located?
Why not look for homes in the east side towards the Greenville, skillman mockingbird area😁 I feel like that area is so dope
Because they are million dollar homes
I’m looking for my first home in Dallas too! Great video!
Girl, Prosper, Frisco, and McKinney are the places to look into. Definitely a little bit pricey but not as pricey as LA!
I knowww, but It's so much further away from my fam!
Good luck on finding your future home! Excited for you 😊
thank you for sharing Jeanine!! this process looks so exciting! God bless your journey :)
You should look outside of Dallas. West lake, Mansfield, Frisco, and Coppell. I believe are better options.
I just moved to Dallas this year and Im debating on staying or moving to Austin or back home (El Paso) maybe your content can help me decide to stay 😅
The thing is its a little rare to see snow i think you know that since you lived in Austin i belive?
@@user-lj6ls3vx4o I lived in El Paso and you do get snow occasionally there. Does Dallas not get much snow?
@@funnydayz ive only seen snow like once or twice a few years back, Ive lived in fort worth about 13 years, i dont know much about dallas i live in fort worth, i think it has more probability of snowing there because its more north?
You should look into cities that are surrounding Dallas. It would probably be cheaper and the houses are different layouts than Dallas homes.
Our family friends almost bought house number 7!! It’s so cute
Were you looking all over Dallas or were there specific neighborhoods that you were looking at? Would love to know if there were specific areas that you were kinda gunning for
Love 5&6! Do you happen to have links?
Love your desk, Jeanine! May I ask where you got it?
5 is def my fave but i love the pool that 6 had. but you could always get a pool at house 5 🤷🏻♀️
