It’s wild to me how personality and character is in this performance, and not just another trio playing a tune and doing some soloing. The constant in and out of on top of the beat to playing around it, then I love the almost Samba feel once they come out of the ending solos. This is such a great performance! 🤦🏻♂️🤯🥵
The one and only bill Evans plus his incredible bassist and drummer, too bad his life was so short the world could definitely enjoy such a master for many more years
what he did to the groove from :40 to :49 , and at 1:06, i don't know if he came up with that shit himself or who he stole it from, it's well genius either way.
Kleinequietboy Kleinequietboy likely he was influenced by the great Scott LaFaro who was the first bassist to manipulate time feel like that, the broken feel.
They are switching betwen 3/4 and 4/4 between choruses during the solos. Very tricky and awesome. Imagine what it would be to witnesses a reharsal of this trio. Wonderfull Coda too
Bill didn't flash his chops too often but he sure had them.
He started to flash during his last period. I think it was very interesting

I'm so sad he's so unrecognized in Puerto Rico (where he and I are from), because he deserves to be a national treasure.
My lovely Bill and his second best trio
I think Marc Johnson and Joe Jones were his best side men.
Love Eddie and Scott too.
