I think I figured out Kaya's problem. Jealously. She was spoiled and got everything she wanted in life because of her evil parents who spoiled her rotten. She thinks she can have anything she wants and treat people any kind of way because just because she was born with the gift, she thinks the world revolves around her. She's jealous because despite having all that and forcing a man who never loved her into marriage, her sister, Miyo is living happily, while she's miserable. Unlike her rude and disrespectful self everyone loves Miyo because of her kind and gentle nature. Miyo gets along and is falling in love with her husband-to-be, while Kaya's marriage is sad and miserable.

Also I think because they live in that city ( or a big town ) and that kaya hasn't been to another place is the reason she thinks very highly for herself. She hasn't met another girl that can really stand up against her and yeah she's really a spoiled brat.
