The glitch hasn't been patched yet, because clearly the tanks can't account for all of the about 370k missing kills

M4A1's are select-fire, full auto. The original M4 has a burst trigger.
Interesting match would be modern soldiers versus Jedi how would that work with the Jedi need more guys or would the modern soldiers need more guys.
Ranged fighters can take on forces with superior stats (and even numbers), so long as most of the ranged fighters can engage, and only a small number of the adversary can. As far as I can tell, terrain, including body piles, block ranged fire in UEBS 2. At the culverts, all the defenders on the bluffs could engage the handful of modern solders that crested the small rises.
This mechanic leads to counterintuitive tactically correct placement of defenders. Not on the forward slope of terrain, were all can be engaged, but on the reverse slope, where only the much smaller fraction of the attackers that crest the ridge define the local correlation of forces. This has parallels in military history: in WWI, the Germans were the first to discover that lines could be held more easily, with fewer troops, on the reverse slope of slight ridges.
Maybe, someday, UEBS3 will see indirect fire. Then artillery, the queen of battle, responsible for most battle casualties for the last 220 years, will reign. For now, there's only either melee or line of sight. UEBS2 isn't much of a game unless one's taking advantage of this: not to see how many soldiers one can fit into a battle, but how few one can bring, and still win.
