A whirlybird is a nickname for a helicopter and surface to air is talking about surface to air missile defense systems or SAMS. Even a fighter jet is threatened by SAMS but he mentions a helicopter which is much less likely to survive and encounter in a SAMS radius. It's a perfect way to depict the level of nervousness that brings a dreadful anxiety.

Somehow, Dorks doesn't sadden me at all while Kodokushi makes me want to cry. And I lived in an apartment alone when I first heard Dorks. And I had a cat and aloof neighbors. Seems like growing to a certain age is like slowly teleporting to a strange and hostile alien planet as your home planet is completely obliterated along with everyone you ever called friend or family. I think of that whenever I encounter the surly elderly.
This song is absolutely addicting!!! Only way I can describe it with the way it’s been on repeat. I even find myself getting this stuck in my head when I’m not listening to music. Probably my favorite track on the album, but there’s tough competition. The whole thing is an assertation that Aesop Rock is undeniably a generational talent. Eternally grateful for these magnificent sonic vibrations. A lot to dissect here, and I will be indefinitely. No regrets for preordering, can’t wait for the physical goods to arrive! :)

About 1 am today, my radio alarm goes off and this song blares out of the speakers. I had my radio dialed on 90.7 FM KJHK (college radio station). 9.99/10 I would shut it off and go back to sleep until the secondary alarm on my clock radio. This time around I got up, got onto the station's website to look at the playlist. I had to know. I almost never follow hip-hop/rap. Metal music is my go to for rotation. Any odds and ends would be podcasts, ASMR, some electronic music--Autechre; Aphex Twin; Boards of Canada, etc. But it's rare for me to stray away from Metal. Anyways, this Aesop Rock track got my full attention like pro wrestling star Undertaker coming back from the dead. Now I need to do some digging. Cheers.

I had my radio dialed on 90.7 FM KJHK (college radio station). 9.99/10 I would shut it off and go back to sleep until the secondary alarm on my clock radio. This time around I got up, got onto the station's website to look at the playlist. I had to know. I almost never follow hip-hop/rap. Metal music is my go to for rotation. Any odds and ends would be podcasts, ASMR, some electronic music--Autechre; Aphex Twin; Boards of Canada, etc. But it's rare for me to stray away from Metal. Anyways, this Aesop Rock track got my full attention like pro wrestling star Undertaker coming back from the dead. Now I need to do some digging. Cheers.
