From all 8 episodes this has to be my favorite. The pure amount of information that has been researched combined with critical thought is refreshing. Majority of podcasts are "I heard this thing I dont know much about it but let's talk about it." Hat's off to you nerd. The fact that Twitter is still operating with 70% of employees gone kinda makes me think there wasn't much work going on.
I mean...to be fair it's software.
I'm not saying Twitter employees were very hard workers. In fact I believe the complete opposite and think they probably deserved to be fired. However, most people hired by software development companies are...developing software. That software still functions without the staff.
It's not like Twitter is a restaurant that wouldn't function when majority of the staff isn't present, it's a social media website

You got that the wrong way around buddy. Twitter staff was mostly moderators, PR and HR. Musk fired everyone but the engineers, because they're actually needed to keep the place going. You don't need a lot of mods if you don't police minor nonsense.

they have to spend more time editing their speaking so they sound smarter. And that visual edits for their podcast are so good, especially on Spotify

Recently I was caught in a public shooting and was shot in the chest and survived. I've been a pretty useless human being since then but today I got a lot of joy from the upload. @@nerdcity On Thursday, December 1st at 6:40PM, I was standing in front of my home chatting with my neighbor about his Thanksgiving holiday when out of nowhere, an armed gunman fired 10 shots at someone walking directly behind me. Luckily, none of those 10 shots hit my neighbor or the gunman's intended target. But one hollow point round hit the center of my chest and spilt into 6 fragments. I laid there on the ground holding the hole in my chest as hard as I could feeling every emotion at once and just kept worrying this was the end of my story. Those 6 bullet fragments missed my heart by just a few millimeters. By some miracle or act of God or whatever it may be, I survived. (Waking up in the ICU, the first words out of my mouth were just, “Wow.”)
I was in and out of the hospital in exactly one week. My recovery has been incredibly tough - I won't get into the intimate details of that - but my trauma doctors expect a full recovery of all my organs. It’s very hard to breathe and talk right now, but ill get there. Two things that contributed to being alive is that my diagram was incredibly healthy from working out and my liver was incredibly healthy from not drinking.
Please make sure to hug your loved ones extra tight this holiday season, and let them know how much you love them. I found myself flooded with love, support, and compassion from so many people in my life. It was quite overwhelming (in a good way). Those people in your life are what matters in the end.
Life is crazy, but I'm so glad to be alive.

I’m glad I’m no longer living under a rock and stumbled upon this greatness! I just recently went down the Nerd City and Colossal lore these past few weeks from the fousey video to the DO5 video, from baited! To thot patrol etc etc and theres much to be said about the intelligence and creativity/quality of the content which also is jam packed with substance, but all of that has been said, it’s more so refreshing to me coming across two individuals who still have integrity and morals like Nerd with the deer thing i felt his compassion and the empathy which again is rare to see these days as well as Colossal with the way he’s never went against his moral compass even after 7 years he’s always been unbiased and i like the fact that he’s the guy people seemingly know to be honest with creators and call them on their bullshit face to face, and I can’t forget the fact that even with Pyro I appreciate his knowledge and passion for video games to the point he researches fuckin human react times just to give a video essay so that show’s character and Dolan never ceases to surprise me with his humor and the fact that it can be five minutes of him being quiet yet he still chimes in with questions that are interesting and relate to the subject so i just had to get all that off my chest to pretty much say y’all definitely are an inspiration and i hope the podcast stays afloat for our sake

As someone in the tech industry, I understand the "hardcore Twitter" expectation. In most companies, that sort of work ethic, working ridiculous hours, taking your work home, is the rule, rather than the exception. You get paid extremely well, you get to sit in front of a computer all day and you don't have to talk to customers or almost anyone else. And you can get there without a degree if you can show talent and experience, which is how I made my come-up. The only reason it "backfired" is because it was leaked to everyone else, who doesn't work in the industry and don't know that this, for the most part, is the expectation everywhere.
Yeah, I was very surprised to hear nerd as pro-slacker. But I guess a guy who uploads once every 11 months...

To be fair about the dead deer: from what I understand in the episode since I don't watch pewdiepie, if that episode of the meme review had bland memes for however long Elon has to go through them and WHAM! Suddenly dead deer, he may just be having a shock or unexpected kind of reaction laughter. I also think Nerd's pool analogy isn't the best, he did not encounter it in real life but in a photo on a screen far removed from himself. Still weird, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I like that you kept the visuals on the videos. I use both spotify and youtube, while soldering electronics at work it is nice to have the video runing so that I get somekind of visual stimulation. While cuting wood or workingout I use the spotify version.

Dropping a brick is a good idea for creating energy, however the amount of energy needed to elevate the brick in the first place would be equal to the amount of energy produced by it.
Sort of, hydroelectricity essentially works like that. Yes hydro power can be generated by precipitous water flow to produce energy, but it can also be used to store energy like an unorthodox battery.

As a teenager, seeing people with near max ranks using end-game helmets and the inclement weather effect was very impressive because of the amount of time it took. 343 made armour meaningless because it just requires money, you can't even see them for a long time before the match starts :/
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I appreciate Nerd's kinda neutral stance on dealing with these conspiracy theories. I feel like one of the things that push people further down the conspiracy rabbit hole is different media figures demonizing and mocking people who may ascribe to these theories. I think a calm and understanding explanation does much better to combat those theories.
