    my switch is starting to act up with physical copies at this time and this video honestly came in for the save, almost bought a whole new switch because of it

    Thank you. I was contemplating repurchasing digital versions of my cartridge games. This took me about 10 minutes, and worked perfectly!

    This video was perfect! My cartridge was busted, had a broken plastic prong, which I didn't realize and when I took it out, it snagged the gold prongs inside the reader. Following this tutorial, I was able to successfully replace the cartridge reader and get get it to read cartridges. Now I don't need to buy a whole new Switch! Thanks man 🙏👍

    Hey thanks for the quick no BS version! I bought one off of eBay that was supposedly working and obviously the guy never tested because it does not. This makes it look pretty easy and I think I can do this. The first video that came up was 20 minutes long and I was really glad there was a shorter one. Very informative, thanks again!

      I recommend picking up the part I list in the video description for this replacement. A few other users have reported audio issues when using other replacement card readers. Good luck!

    Thank you! This really helped explain HOW to take out the ribbons etc instead of just telling me to 'be careful' like I know what I'm doing. Switch is up and running again and the game cards read :) appreciate it!

    my 4 year old autistic son jabbed a bic pen lid into my card reader/cartridge slot and I've been hesitant to buy a replacement not knowing if it's above what I can handle doing, I don't want to brake it further, so thanks for the video, its appreciated

    Thank you for this video! My son crammed a game cartridge in backwards and broke some pins on our switch. I bought the reader you linked and a set of screwdrivers and had it changed within 30 minutes. Everything is working perfectly.

    Hey man, is there an easier way to replace the game card flap (cover) and not the whole game card reader? Or do you have to go throught this same process?

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The port cover for the card slot is not attached to the PCB I replaced in this video. It's attached to the back plate of the switch, but I haven't personally removed that particular part.

    I did this myself I have a question after rebuilding the switch did you put thermal paste before rebuilding the switch

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't replace the thermal paste on mine as it didn't get messed up during the removal process. But if it did come apart or peel up, I would probably add more as a precautionary measure.

    Thanks for the great video. Are you aware of any issues with the touch screen? Everything works flawless but the touchscreen no longer works. Wondering if its a compatibility issue but insure.

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haven't heard of this affecting the screen. I would ensure that any ribbon cables that may have been bumped loose are secure.

      Not sure about this one is it something I can't replicate. Which card reader repacement module did you pick up? It's the same one I linked in the video description?

    hmmm, my slot looks perfectly fine. Not sure if it's worth trying to replace the slot, what do you think?

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a pretty common issue with the switch. If you've tried more than one game card and none of them work, it's most likely the problem.

    • @jbmurphy4
      @jbmurphy4 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My slot was fine too but I noticed my earphones and touch screen also didn’t work. So I found out that the pcb was loose at the hinge ribbon connector.
      I ended up putting a little bit of blue tack in to keep the hinge in place.
      I still have a few labo kits that my kids never got to finish until now.

    The part where you take off the card reader ribbon cable is too fast and not detailed enough.

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sorry it was fast. You just flip up the retaining latch and pull the ribbon cable out.

    I bent the pins or something because it is not going in the slot.

    I changed my broken card reader with a new one. Now when I touch any buttons, it doesn't respond. The screen is on. Power button doesn't do anything. No response when I put the joy cons on now. :( I used a cheaper card reader. So maybe that did it

    super helpful right up until I needed it most 😅 you move so fast I can't see how you remove the bigger of the ribbons, I even downloaded the video and played in slow motion....I don't know what to do

    • @MrArmageddonBuilds
      @MrArmageddonBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ribbons on the Switch come off in one of two ways. Some are just press fits that pop off with upward pressure. The others have a small latch that you have to pull up and slide the ribbon out.
