Jon, that was the best review of that guitar out there, and as always, your playing is nothing short of spectacular…thank you for such a beautiful demo…
Jon, I just bought the "Vintage" version of these 40th anniversary Jazzmasters, it's basically all the same specs, just different cosmetically. Mine is the Sea Foam Green, because like you I want to play some Surf on it. If you'll allow me to point out 2 things in regards to a spec and the production. First is that these come with traditional Jazzmaster pick ups that are designed by Fender. They are single coil p/u's that are wound on a wider bobbin and use Alnico 5 magnets. This gives the Jazzmaster its fuller wider tone. Second, they are done after 2022. They aren't limited, and there are still plenty to be had, but they won't be around with these exact specs next year. Although because of their success, I'm sure Fender/Squier will find a way to get something very similar on the market. Once again, you have made a great video with good info and some masterful and tasteful playing. My best to you in the new year!
Hi Jonathan, very attractive guitar celebrating their 40th anniversary. How it plays is superb, great variety of tones on offer. Loved your review & playing. Cheers ✌️🎸💜
Oh boy!! I want one !! 😂😂 I’m definitely in trouble with this beautiful axe Jon. The look and the sound is just sublime. You also outdid yourself on the wonderful intro performance - brilliant- 👏👏👏👏❤️😃
Holy cow Jon. I watch your vids almost religiously and to me that is one of the sweetest, prettiest sounding guitar I've heard you play. I have to admit I have never given a Jazzmaster a second look. Well you've made me do a 180 and rethink if I have room for this one. Regardless I'm checking prices now. 😂
Jon, Yes your description is dead on.....sweet! I wondered how that would sound because I was expecting more of a "swirling" type sound that many have used for decades on the USA models. This guitar would simply kill for blues. I'm rethinking the value of this guitar going forward. Thanks so much for bringing this on to the channel. Your face really lit up when you started to play. Cheers !
Normally a Tele guy, but you sold me on one of these since they are on sale for 327.00 at the moment with my FenderPlay discount. Something different to play with. Thanks for your review and playing.
In the neck position it has a definite acoustic sound. Squire is usually a great value compared to regular fender guitars. I like it! Good demo. Thanks you, John.
Wow Jon, that song was espectacular! Beautiful guitar, this series from Squier is wonderful, Jazzmasters and Jaguars are so cool guitars, love those offset shapes, very ergonomic ✌️🤩👍🎸
This one reminds me of the J Mascis Edition. Sounds the same. I actually was impressed. I however, didn't get use to tremolo arm. Still a totally gigging instrument with good growl with proper overdrive amps. Great job. Thank you. 😊👍🏻
I love the tone of that guitar in lead mode! Just beautiful, a little thin, maybe you had the treble pinned? In rythym mode. A little too chimey for my ears. But like you I’m impressed and want to play one now…guitar center tomorrow…thanks for another great review
Beautiful playing. I have just bought one. It has a lovely range of tones, plays really well - neck is good though the frets are rough. Quite trebly on the bridge setting, though I love this guitar. It just seems complete over my Gibson Ibanez etc. Prefer it over my other guitars.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Jonathan, I received today my HB TE-90FLT, left-handed... thanks to you and your reviews. You once gave me the advice to buy the Fusion-T... but it got a bit too expensive for me so I bought this more simple and basic TE-90. Now I just have to practice and keep practicing so I can play at least 1% as good as you do. Au revoir, depuis Lima, Pérou. 🙂
Jonathan, you sold me on my 1st rig, Sire T7 FM, and just when I’m about to sell it for this Jazzmaster… here comes your rad vid. Do ya think I should make the swap? I can only afford 1 guitar.
I have this guitar, and out of the box it came with a really unstable bridge, which after some research, is a common problem for jazzmasters. If you don't fix it, it will continue to collapse unevenly while playing, even after multiple bridge adjustments. Problem stems from the mounting screws slipping, and so the resulting shrill and buzzing from the uneven bridge made it unplayable. Be warned. If you get this, you will need to unmount the bridge and blue loctite the leveling screws in place once you have it set at a good height. If not, have a guitar tool on hand at all times because it will slip at any moment lol. Also, the factory strings were too thin for the guitar, causing additional tuning stability issues. The struggle is real, but the final product after the fix is pretty sweet.
Fantastic playing Jon! 😎, this guitar really is amazing, looks beautiful plays great, but I think it is just too expensive for a Squier, thats my only problem with it
suppose if i were to buy this, what would be the things I would need to change to make it something that's like my go to guitar and its going to be my permanent mate? as you know, squier guitars have stock items on them. does this have those premium stuff you'd expect on an ordinary fender? also like other squiers in this range, does it easily go out of tune? what about its bridge and pickups? do they need any fixing and changing or they are perfect?
The switch actually puts the neck pickup into its own series. So you flip the switch , it goes through a separate tone and volume switch with 100k pots. In the middle position it puts BOTH pickups out of phase with each other and makes both single coils become one humbucker.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud no problem. I’m just a offset guy. Love my Jazzmasters and Jaguars. Love to see you try the contemporary jaguar with the atomic humbucker.
Does anyone know how many of these will be made? I'm not sure how to decode those serial numbers. I figure the 22 refers to this year, but I've got no clue with the rest.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud They specifically stated it is a limited series and will only be manufactured during 2022. I can't find any info on exactly how limited it is going to be though. Judging from the serial number though, it's 6 digits total (disregarding the 22 at the start which obviously refers to the year of manufacturing), so surely the limit will be 999,999. I can't imagine them manufacturing that many though. I think this guitar will be worth good money as a collectable piece in future. You've got number 23,328 from the looks of it. I might be wrong about how the numbers work beyond the 22 though. The letters are also interesting, yours says ICSE, but I've seen one that said ICSA. I have no idea what that is referring to.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Okay so I've just done a bit of research. The first one I looked at was SN 001281, which was manufactured in January 2022. Yours is 23328 and was manufactured in May 2022. Fender said this range will cease manufacturing when 2022 ends. in 5 months they produced nearly 25k of these guitars. I suspect by the time 2022 is up, there'll be about 50k or so in circulation. I'd be interested to hear what their plans are, because these are some fairly collectable guitars. ICS seems to refer to Indonesia. A refers to January, and E refers to May (May and E both being the 5th month and letter of the alphabet).

Leaning toward this or the G&L Tribute Doheny, just not sure which one. I'm a moderate gain, delay and reverb sort of guy.

You should just get a Fender American guitar if there are so much concerns. I would probably just change the tuners n string tree. ✌️❤️
