For not having played fretless in 15 years I would say you're killing it. I have two fretless Stingrays, and one of them is the July 2020 BFR. It is similar to this bass with the roasted flame maple polyester coated neck. It's an extremely special instrument, and by far the finest bass I've ever played. The polyester coating gives it a unique blooming mwah that the other one (pau ferro board) doesn't have. It is highly sensitive to your attack and so expressive, a deep pool to swim in for sure. These anthracite models are obnoxiously expensive, but honestly probably worth it as only about 150 of these polyester boarded Stingrays have been made so far.
Haha, well thanks for making me feel old… I hadn’t done the math on those dates. 🤪 I’d love to hear your basses, and see the difference in tone with the change in materials used.
It's hard to go wrong with a Fender P-bass! Really nice choice. I am fortunate to have nice friends that lend me their gear upon occasion. What kind of music are you playing?
I get it. It’s never bothered me, but my first bass had a glossy neck, so I was used to it. But it definitely makes a difference. And for that price you want something perfect.

Insane bass... love your attitude playing these sweet pieces out there
Thanks! It’s a great bass for sure.
I have this same bass and I love it!! Great playing and channel!!
You’re one of the lucky 20, huh?! Congrats! Do have a fretless one as well?
I absolutely LOVE my Anthricite 5. I’m not a jazz guy. Mostly CCW and classic rock. It does it all.
Nice! Good thing it works well in those styles too!
You gigged with it yet?
your playing and the tone on that thing... can't help but bob to it.
Thank you! That's very kind of you. Glad you stopped by for a listen!
Nice skills, I wish I could play like this someday 🙂
I currently own a Fender Player Precision Bass, but what you have there looks stunning.
Good job!

Sorry for the delay on the chapters, slipped my mind, they should be on now.
What number is that bass? I think they only made 20
@ I should have checked while I had it. My friend took it back a few days ago, but I know he jumped on the order as soon as they announced them.
Nice bass
Thanks, wish it was mine!
I would like to have one if the neck is not gloss😢

Looks good, sounds good, but it is a Musicman :)
Haha. To each their own. I also don't own any Music Man basses currently, but after playing these, I might reconsider . . .
Was just looking at them sweet but a little out of the budget 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
There certainly are pricey! Really wish I had the funds to get my own as well. . . Just have to borrow it again sometime, I guess, ;)
Okay, now play Sledgehammer on it >:)
Haha. Missed opportunity, I guess. Next time.
