“Mountain Man Money” I love all the characters on Mountain men, but Tom Orr is my favorite. I love the ways that he shows how people lived, back when people were learning how the American Indians lived off the land, and their ways. He has so much knowledge of the old ways that need to be passed on so people can understand how it was, way back then. I wish I had the money, to pay for one of the knives he makes the way he can produce a flnt napped knife, the same way American Indians did back in the days.
Good for Tom and his wife Nancy for doing what they love not many people do. I wish I had the guts to do what I loved years ago. I finally did after I finely found a great wife who cared about my happiness. She’s amazing and we have a lot of the same interest and that works. We both love these kind of shows . Thanks.🇨🇦👍
Women that truly care are rare! I found mine in 1991/2 New Year’s Eve. Married a year later. Still married. My favorite thing is to raise and breed boa constrictors. My wife HATES snakes, let alone 10’ boas. But she new it made me happy and to the day, still puts up with my hobby. Has only touched 1 baby and has nothing to do with them. Lol. She deserves for Oprah to treat her out for a night.

This is very misleading, in fact it's flat out wrong. I have been a trapper for 40+ years and beaver have never been worth $200. The most I have ever got was $60 and that was just one pelt. All furs are graded as individuals, some are better than others, but right now the average beaver pelt is only worth $15-$20. There are always high selling pelts that bring much more, but they are not the "norm". Pine marten last year was selling for averages around $80-$100 for Alaskan pelts, the rest were much less. This year pelts from the Rocky Mountain states are averaging about $20. Alaskan pelts, around $50. Some will bring more, but you can't say "Pine martin sell for $100 per pelt".....it's not true. Much depends on the primeness of the fur, size, and how well it was handled getting it ready for market. Most trappers today struggle to break even over expenses, not get rich. Speaking of rich, Rich Lewis is not the only hunter in the area either. There are many. I actually talked with him two years ago at the Horse & Mule sale in Salmon, Idaho. We talked about horses and mules, not this TV show. I found him to be knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with.

More than what you think. Just for that cabin, all the gear, traps, guns, atvs, snowmobiles, gas, parts...shit goes on and on. Once you have it all..its easier to maintain..but to get to that point is not cheap.

Mountain Men Money. I live in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Not to far from Boone N.C. I was born in 1953. I lived most of my life at the foot of White top mountain. And it earns it name . Last snow..and yes it was a flurry was in July this year. I know this is probably the norm up North but Virginia is southern state. I was lucky enough to get to know some of the last mountain folks in these hills. Grew and raised just about all the lived on. Hunted for meat. Some did have cows n pigs . Traded eggs for a lot of stuff.. salt and things like that. Man those ladies could lay out a meal. Sad in one way good in another is that the government owns about everything. They do have all the mountains. The people have most of the valleys . But the government is slowly getting more and more. But like I told one of the old ones. If government did have this land there would be a posted sign everywhere. At least we can go on it. They have blocked off about all the old roads going up into the mountains. It is what it is.
I dont give a hell what they earn....This is such a hard life..So they deserve what ever they get.. I would never survive there lives.. Cape town South Africa
Bull pure lies. Eustis runs a camp for girls and doesnt live like this. I know someone who goes there to teach during the summers at the girls camp and its all pure lies on his account I dont know about the rest but have not watched it since she told that story on her live.
