Been using Ventolin brand blue inhaler for 43 years. Have tried other suggested brands and types over the decades but find sll others tend exacerbate my difficulties. I find Ventolin works right for me. Accept no substitute.
I have been prescribed multiple inhalers both rescue and maintenance. To start with the abuterol inhalers don't work for me at all. Neither did the normal rescue inhalers. Eventually I tried the trelegy inhalers and they worked but not the way you're supposed to use them. If I used them daily they really didn't help much but if I used them as a rescue inhaler they worked pretty well. My doctor decided a nebulizer would be more appropriate. Still doesn't work with albuterol but the trelegy ampules in the nebulizer will stop an asthma attack in minutes.
I've finally gotten an inhaler as an adult after I stopped using it as a kid and it really does help when I'm having a flair up. I used to suffer for the evening or the entire day with severe tightness but now it can be not so bad
Why would we need complicated when we have done well with ventolin and flute as one…..no side effects…..the three drug things sound like a nail in my coffin….
I've always used the Ventolin blue inhaler (via a spacer with a mask) as a reliver & a Fluitiform inhaler as a preventer. I was recently switched to the fostair inhaler, initially to replace the fluitiform & then to use as both a reliver & preventer (instead of the blue one). I have been struggling with it a lot. I'm meant to take 1 puff in the Am & PM (instead of x2) & use it inbetween as needed. I've now been switched to the fostair Nextinhaler (which can't be used with a spacer). I'm struggling even more and it doesn't seem as good as the ventolin when using as a reliver when im wheezy. I'm struggling a lot to get used to having to put my lips around it and with how hard a breath you have to take to get it in. I feel like im ending up with powder in my mouth. Im bed bound & and my head cant be raised which complicates things as well I think, and i can't have my mouth swished round with water afterwards (due to the choking risk due to my dispashia). Advice would be greatly appreciated. Any tips on using the Foastair nextair? I feel like i cant do a deep / quick enough breath in with it especially after its clicked. I struggle to hold it in afterwards too.
Do you mean you have the Pink Fostair 100/6 micrograms? I use this one with a spacer. AirChamber. I use two puffs which is much easier. One puff using the chamber then you inhale slowly 3 times. Then you press again and inhale slowly 3 times. When you breath out you do that through your nose. I hope you can understand me.
@@starflower9015 Yes. I was originally on the aerosol version of it too with my areochamber spacer, same as you, but they switched me to the powder version of it called the Fostair NEXThaler, which is the one I'm struggling greatly with. They said it's 'better for the environment' than the aerosol version. You have to breath it in very quick / deeply, instead of like with a areochamber where you can take slower breaths in as it can't be used with a spacer. I end up with powder in my mouth and many more side effects than I had with the other version of it. My doctor has finally agreed after 2 months of struggling to switch me back to the aerosol one though, thank god. This is the one: www.asthma.org.uk/advice/inhaler-videos/nexthaler/

@@thatgirlthatsme It's because corticosteroids, including ones that come in powder or aerosol form i.e. for asthma, if you don't rinse and end up with powder or the aerosol in your mouth or the back of your throat it can cause a hoarse voice (+ if that's happening it means the correct dose is not getting all in your lungs) and mainly as it is a steroid it "reduces" or better turns down the response of a part of your immune system response, locally, promoting relatively unharmful microorganisms from thriving and since the immune system can't keep a control of it due to the nature of the steroid oral thrush commonly caused by Candida albicans, can occur. I would first recommend discussing the matter with your doctor for advice which applies to you. But would think about 1) is the inhaler appropriate for your condition (i.e. Do you understand your diagnosis and why the inhaler was given in the first place?) 2) are you using it correctly? 3) would you need a second inhaler? - for asthma for example there is often need for a controller inhaler which is taken regularly (but not the blue one/ventolin).
See your doctor asap for reevaluation. Your condition may have worsened. Or perhaps you're not using it correct therefore not getting the most benefit from the drug in the inhaler.
This is really simple and calming, but you can’t forget there are 4 main classes of drugs for COPD and asthma. Everyone with Asthma should have a rescue inhaler which is a bronco dialator or beta antoginst like albuterol as the key drug. But for each of these drug families (saba, Laba, lama and inhaled steroids) there are lots of different drugs all with side effects. You will need to work with your doctor to pick the best for you
Nice comment, i always try to convey the same message that although there are many options picking a treatment requires an honest and open conversation with your doctor to make sure you are getting the treatment that is best suited for your case (this may not always be the latest inhaler)
@@DrStefanCristianStanel greeting Dr. My doctor used to subscribe me dulera for last 10 years, suddenly he subscribe me breztri aerosphere which i dont understand why as the otherone was fine except was charging my insurance 827.00 each inhaler
Some studies sugest that LAMA works better, however some individuals may benefit more from LABA. As a pharmacist in belgium I can say that the guideline is as follow for COPD treatment: SABA/SAMA as rescue for mild COPD. If your COPD get worse LAMA or LABA is used (again, some studies suggest that LAMA may work better). If your COPD is still not under control or get worse, combination therapy is given (bitherapy or even triple therapy) such as: LAMA + LABA, LABA + corticosteroids (ICS) or LAMA + LABA + ICS. The pneumologist will look for the best treatment and may not follow the guidelines I wrote, because experience can be more worth than just guidelines. Moreover, as the doctor mentioned in the video, correct use is the most important step, so contact your doctor or pharmacist few times to make sure you use the device with medication properly, if you have more questiones, feel welcome.
Hi I'm in stage 4 copd and dr need to change inhalers every 3 months at the moment im on seebri capsules and vsn air inhaler but I still battle with shortness of breath please which inhaler can i use?
Yes, true, but controller and reliever inhalers are different types. When it comes to comparing controller inhalers between themselves, the differences are not that dramatic
How many people are having side effects from the dry inhalers? Dry powder inhalers (DPIs) can have a variety of side effects, including serious and less serious ones: Serious side effects These can include signs of infection, such as a high temperature, chills, a very sore throat, ear or sinus pain, a cough, or coughing up more mucus. They can also include signs of adrenal gland problems, such as a very upset stomach, vomiting, dizziness, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood changes, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Less serious side effects These can include a change in taste, dry mouth, headache, hoarseness, sore throat, tremors or shaking, and trouble sleeping. They can also include allergic reactions, such as skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Hey everyone, I have no experience with inhalers except for wn I was pregnant losing breath near due date from a bad cold. Been trying to watch diet to reduce inflammation but wn I get colds a lot I’ll get them in 3 rounds for a couple of months in a row. I’ll get so much mucus that I’ll kind of even choke on it from time to time randomly with a sudden deep chest cough and the weeks (on and off) of coughing, causes me to have to cancel many singing gigs as well as obviously scuffing up my voice making my voice kinda hoarse for a while. I do not think it I get infections - I think it’s a combination of maybe sometimes lingering cold symptoms combined with allergies and have always had a sensitive respiratory tract and wn sick feel like my respiratory connections are restricted. I don’t seem to have trouble breathing wn not sick. What can open up my lungs some wn I’m sick and cause less mucus so I have less vocal damage and can get back to singing more quickly without having to take something all the time?

sometimes my inhaler doesnt work for me what do i do!
I think that this question was well done, but if you break this into a tier list it may reach more people, and hence help more of us!

Hi respected Doc.
Can u please tell me what's the best inhaler for difficult breathing? Breathing is not sastified
Whats best for copd emhasyemia, laba or lama, i read they different, i have trouble getting air into bottom half of lungs
Moreover, as the doctor mentioned in the video, correct use is the most important step, so contact your doctor or pharmacist few times to make sure you use the device with medication properly, if you have more questiones, feel welcome.
sir is in hailer harmful for our health ? i felt it's eddecting on my face mean it's occurring of weakness
Hi why do I get shaky and have blurry vision when I take symbicort
Hi I'm in stage 4 copd and dr need to change inhalers every 3 months at the moment im on seebri capsules and vsn air inhaler but I still battle with shortness of breath please which inhaler can i use?
What drug is equivalent to Qvar for my 11 year old who uses only during allergy season?
Some are better long term to be used everyday and some are better for emergency short term
Yes, true, but controller and reliever inhalers are different types. When it comes to comparing controller inhalers between themselves, the differences are not that dramatic
How many people are having side effects from the dry inhalers?
Dry powder inhalers (DPIs) can have a variety of side effects, including serious and less serious ones:
Serious side effects
These can include signs of infection, such as a high temperature, chills, a very sore throat, ear or sinus pain, a cough, or coughing up more mucus. They can also include signs of adrenal gland problems, such as a very upset stomach, vomiting, dizziness, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood changes, loss of appetite, and weight loss.
Less serious side effects
These can include a change in taste, dry mouth, headache, hoarseness, sore throat, tremors or shaking, and trouble sleeping.
Hello Doc can I ask a question? please tell me what is the most recommended inhaler to bring like when having an asthma attack

Bentilin I’ve used since a child but it makes me shaken but it works well…
Hi doc. Just want to ask if seretide is okay? My brother told me to stop salbutamol for a moment because sometimes my salbutamol ihaler won't work thinking I might be immune to it and it will not work for me anymore. Is it a good decision to use seretide (evohaler) salmeterol (as xinafoate) 25/125? My asthma is not that serious if it is summer but when nov to feb it is sometimes bad. Thank you so much
Hello Doctor, I hope you notice my comment. I havw asthma since birth but it gone when I'm around 11-17 years old then it came back 1 month before my 18 birthday. From 18-24 years old Im being admitted yearly.
My last admission was year 2019 (Diagnosed as Bronchial Asthma in acute exacerbation and they prescribe me to use inhaler but i did not follow and just tryng to be healthy)and gone for almost 5 years.
Now, I'm 29. My asthma came back last 2 weeks. My doctor told me to use 2x a day as a maintenance. But I forgot to ask my doctor huhu.
Can I inhale diskus seretide when it flares up? Or just follow the doctors intructions? To use 6am-6pm method.
What If I have attacks in between? Can I still use it? Huhu pls answer and thank you. Godbless.
My even solution asthma puffer
It's kind of like a albuterol inhaler
Dr, please I have a very severe asthma.
Which inhaler do you suggest I use.
My seretide isn't helping anymore
maybe try the hospital, they could give you a very strong one or even tablets but hospital is better than yt they could prescribe u something
I Don't have Healthcare insurance in the USA i have asthma and high blood pressure. I usually use Primatene Mist. How dangerous is this. I have to use it 3 to 4 times a Day
My asthma got worse on that, please tell Dtr that you don’t have insurance. They can set you up with either samples, use generics, or use a Canadian pharmacy, Symbicort in the US ~$400 each, from Canada its $78 each. Have your Dtr write you a paper Rx.
@@gdiup9241thanks I’ll look into it.

Somewhat not true....I had a bad reaction on a generic Albuterol Sulfate (generic??)
than I did with ProAir HFA
After five days I could hardly move, and I felt like I was breathing in/out through a folded towel.
It took my insurance co about 3 weeks to approve the one O had which was perfect....It was like not having breathing problems at all.
God, thank you for medications and breathing and our diaphragm and our breath. Mints and everything. I pray that your love exhumes me when I die and others In Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏 🤍🧖🏻♀️
Sir am suffering from cold always falling the water by nose and the suffering from cough and chest pain which inhellers is best for antiallegy I am watching from Kuwait
u should go seek a doctor
I use my ventolin and advair
I cant seem to breathe,i dont have enough money,i have this asthma for 1 year
It's a hit & miss strategy, which does not address the underlying issues.
To anyone who finds my comment please try yoga, meditation, Herb's a plant based diet and drink herbel teas, Blessed be.
Primetime mist CFC worked best
Advair don't help me at all. but symbicort help me
👍♥️
Hello
🙏🙏🙏❤
I have listened to three videos now. My first guess is that your mother tongue is Romanian. You sound like a pastor from there who leads a food distribution program for the poor in Canada. You do not speak a Slavic language but you are from Eastern or S.E
Europe. So, that leaves only one language. It is not so much your slight accent as your manner of speaking.
