Being at the edge of the circular AOE when Ludwig stabs his mentor to the ground only for you to soon counter either once the hitbox dissipates when your character steps forward or remain outside just a few inches away to not get hit is a thing of sheer beauty to see. Bless you, Ongbal. You make these epic boss fights extra-epic.
The Church Hunter clothes and the Moonlight Greatsword fight was _so_ perfect, but there's really something to be said for you timing the fight for the background musical transition from phase 1 to phase 2 really being the icing on the cake of a perfect showcase. Interesting weapons of choice. When Ludwig is a crazed beast constantly hungering for blood, you wield the Chikage, a weapon that also hungers constantly for blood. And when he regains himself and fights you with his Sword of Moonlight, you meet him with your own Sword of Moonlight. A true duel of honor!

Fun fact: if you don't do the visceral at the end he dies screeching like a beast, but if you take the visceral like in this video he instead screams like the Hunter he was. So 1= not honorable 2= honorable

Something about the way you play these games, this style, across all the games you have played - seems to be like the "true" way to play these games, the aggression, the precision, the small hits when possible between boss combos, the long charge hits when you position yourself perfectly in advance, the perfect defensive movements while staying always ready to hit, just amazing.

Taking the time to learn and beat Ludwig is probably the most savory experience you could have in this game. I think I died maybe a hundred or more times before I finally got his first phase down, oh that second phase soundtrack becomes more juicy when that transition hits and his character becomes all the more tragic!
Ludwig will only talk rationally with you if you present yourself as a member of the Church Hunters so yeah, either the Gascoigne set or other robe/armor sets related to the Church will trigger the dialogue
@lurker-san is watching its crazy. I've played through Bloodborne probably 6 or 7 times, and watched all kinds of content about it, and never saw that. Gotta love FromSoft
During phase 1, I thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be cool to watch a Ludwig fight where The Hunter uses a Moonlight Greatsword to make it an MGS duel?" ONGBAL is such a legend!!!
@@Astald798 Ringed City has the best boss Dark Souls 3 has to offer, but its areas are much too gimmicky. There is a lack of traditional level design and I think it suffers a lot because of it. Plus the Bloodborne DLC added like 7 new trick weapons, which complement the main game as well. Each weapon in BB is more or less like an entire weapon class in other souls games.
@@belottov I think Ringed City level design is good and it's one of the few good areas in ds3. Plus enemy design and setting/aesthetics feels better than something we have in bb. And while i like trick weapons in bb, i still prefer dark souls variety and in ringed city we have best weapons from the game.

I dont know if it is a lie. The church hunters are comprised of like common ass people the church gave a weapon to, from hardcore zealots like the Executioners and Choir hunters. I'd say those guys were as honorable and duty bound as it can be, even if they were aiding some of the atrocities commited by the church.
