Fun fact. The heart and feather thing is from Egiptian mythology. They believed that after death their heart will be weighed to check if it's heavier than the feather. If it was, then it was because the sins made it heavier, and if it was lighter, then they were worthy of afterlife.
For some reason, I spent an overly long period of time thinking Born of Osiris and Rings of Saturn were the same band, until eventually realizing they're not
Amazing song Lee. You boys did an amazing job writing this new material. Been going to your shows since 2007 and haven't been able to snag any autographs yet. Hope to change that one day when we can all go to shows again.
I’m loving how melodic BOO is getting now with the guitar work and the synths. The sort of Modern Melodeath vibe too is pretty massive in their sound now.
Funny how you mention In Flames. I've been listening to them for 12 years, and I've been on a In Flames hype for the past 2 months. I've been listening to Born of Osiris since A Higher place!
There's an old joke that goes something like "if you walk long enoungh along the desert, you will stumble upon a metalcore band filming their music video".
Loved hearing this, haven't been into a song of their's this much since Machine. The cleans was a shock but very good. There's something just serendipitous about the entire song, like puts me in a feel good vibe and it's atmosphere they created that did that.
Saw these guys back in 2017 on the black tour and every band that played that night were amazing especially I see stars, asking Alexandria and born of Osiris. I have a good feeling about this whole album.
@@Meracog it was bad omens, upon a burning body, after the burial , born of Osiris,I see stars and asking Alexandria. They were all amazing one of the best concerts ever. And this was when Danny came back because Denis left like a week or two before my concert date so Danny was there. Still hope to see Denis live one day. Hopefully with drag me out
@@Meracog such a good show and the energy went up when i see stars came out. They know how to put on a show such awesome guys they literally set the stage for Asking. If you ever get the chance you should definitely see I see stars live too.
BOO's been climbing on the top of my list lately. Holy shit. This might be one of my favorite evolutions from a band. They sound so full and mature right now. Damn big ups
My favorite Born of Osiris song has to be Goddess of the Dawn, which already has several clean parts in it, and I'm beyond excited to see them step further in this direction. This song is a huge improvement from anything on The Simulation, I dig it.
Really enjoyable, wasnt over the top... just a solid song. Love it. Also, there were cleans back on The Discovery... so them adding nice little touches here and there isnt out of character necessarily.
This might be an unpopular opinion but im really amped for the singing, it felt very natural overall and i hope that at some point in the album we get a slower synth song similar to A Solution from The Discovery to really let his voice shine. The progression of the band over all is fresh and exciting without losing that classic BoO sound and im here for it. 😤👌🏻
He has a nice tone to his voice and I think they could make hella more progressive music if they had more intricate nicely layered cleans (not some shit generic vocal). BoO can go less ‘deathcore metalcore’ and go more progressive.
@@recklessnotion1899 There are cleans in Regenerate? Just listened to the entire song, I didn't hear any, maybe some in the background as atmosphere, but I didn't hear any part with prominent cleans.
Love the leads in this new born of osiris song the solo it sweet too and synths really bring a killer atmosphere to the song great reaction nik im interested to hear the direction they take with new album i reckon its gonna be pretty experimental from the 2 new singles

Cleans, although rare, isn't something new for BoO. They did some cleans on arguably their most acclaimed record The Discovery (A Solution, Regenerate) and was a part of the band before they settled on their final name and stylistic direction of the band. Really stoked to have a new BoO record coming out 🤘🏻🔥
WOW. I guess this will be my 3rd favorite song of all time. Right behind Erra - Gungrave on 2nd and Ember Falls - We Are Become Fire on 1st. But this one was really close throwing those 2 behind. ^^
This new BOO is a little soft, but banging nonetheless! Appreciate the quick reactions on these new releases, man! I'd also appreciate a reaction to "Versus Me." They're a Metalcore band from south-central WI, and I know you'll love them, dude! Their most popular single is "(A)Tension," but a more recent release would be "Heavy Breathing," or "Violence." They also have a new song coming out on the 24th called "Control" that I know they'd love for you to react to! Love your videos, bro! ✌🖤🤘
I'm smoking weed while watching this and I immediately think of your Djent scene video when you say "Dude, I literally smoke to Osiris!" Talk about deja-vu!
I don't know why but the song reminds me of Don't Ask Don't Tell by Chelsea Grin maybe it's an unconscious comparison since it's a JR song, or because the music video has a whole lotta sand
Go check out "Whispering Deeps" by Words of Farewell if you loved this track. The entire bridge/solo section of that song is spot on to this track. Both are phenomenal. Thought honestly I like Words of Farewell's solo a lot more.
The ancient Egyptians believed that the heart recorded all of the good and bad deeds of a person’s life, and was needed for judgment in the afterlife. After a person died, the heart was weighed against the feather of Maat (goddess of truth and justice). The scales were watched by Anubis (the jackal-headed god of embalming) and the results recorded by Thoth (the ibis-headed god of writing). If a person had led a decent life, the heart balanced with the feather and the person was rendered worthy to live forever in paradise with Osiris.
If Nick Noctural didn’t react to the new song from Rising Insane “Meant to Live”, I guess nobody else on youtube ever did. How is this song going so unoticed? 😱 Being on repeat since last friday 💥💥💥 Did anybody here gave them a listen already? 😳

Straight banger between this and white nile I cant wait till July 2 for the album to drop
Born of Osiris + In Flames = This song. Especially towards the end, the melodic death metal vibe is strong with this one.
Nice. Never thought of that.
I would love to see both bands tour together!!
Came straight for this comment. If you told me the ending riff came from Disarmonia Mundi I'd totally believe it, loved it

There's an old joke that goes something like "if you walk long enoungh along the desert, you will stumble upon a metalcore band filming their music video".
On a side note I love how Polaris made the sand dunes of a beach look like the desert.
Fun fact, this was filmed at Monahans Sand Dunes in west Texas.
3:19 when Nik gets pumped about a smash that isn't really a smash, but is too excited about the potential to stop himself.
