  • What's up guys! In this episode, I share my surf session from yesterday March 4th 2023. I was surfing on 6'8" Album Moonstone in Rockaway Beach. The swell size was at 6 ft @8s. Short period swell that usually favors our beach breaks. Once you find a good sandbar you can score the best wave of your life :)
    Enjoy!

    Yuri, good to see you charging, what looks to be very cold. Could you please, state water and air temperatures? It helps us, west coast Southern Californians visualize New York conditions. You could see how added volume helps with all that rubber you’re wearing. You got a few good lefts. Sometimes, surfing can be frustrating when our timing is off. It’s surfing, and everyone goes through it. Still, a pleasure to see another skipper vlog. Stay stoked

      @SkipperSurfReview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Javier! Yeah, 90s get usually the worst current.. and it's also 1-2 ft bigger than anywhere else in Rockaway.

    Another great video! Definitely was a challenging day out there. I was reminded yesterday that we should know our limits, two waves was enough for me, specially after not wearing a 5/4 suits for so so long! Hoping for more good waves to get back in to cold water surfing 🏄 🤙🏼

      Yep, we mostly get weak windswells and sometimes solid ground swells during Hurricane Season. There was a storm recently that produced epic waves in North Sea. Have you had a chance to score it?

    i use surf forecast too, i like the power of the wave , the waves direction , advanced forcecast etc , i found the prevision relatively accurate too but for some spot it's not very accurate tho it's the website i like the most. strong offshore not easy condition .

      @@SkipperSurfReview to add some info i noticed that below 300 it's quite complicated and groveling type of wave , around 1000kj it's quite punchy, above 1000kj it's seriously hollow. If you click on the ? On the website they said the same apparently.

    Will a longboard surfer having fun in Rockaway Beach? or Where are the spots suitable for a longboard?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He will.. but it all depends on the conditions.. pumping days is harder. The waves get very steep and dumping. 1-3 ft days is perfect. I would suggest going to Long beach.. the paddle out of further and you will have a longer wave out there!

    What are the best month to surf in New york?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! It’s usually fall.. from September through October . Then March through April.. it depends on the storms/hurricanes and low pressure systems to send us waves. It’s not consistent overall.
