Adil Faruq I know top fuel dragsters have a pack of a bunch of clutches and no transmission, just a direct drive. Not sure about funny cars though

I know its a dumb question but can you put the motor from one of these cars and put it into a bus and make sure its done right and its safe? It would be the best sleeper.

oh, yeah its possible, as long as it can fit inside the engine bay, and have custom made motor mounts, I'm not an expert im barely learning automotive but I'm very sure its possible.

Our driver says it’s like putting your head in a paint shaker. It was hard to stop it from happening, I don’t remember what we did but we eventually cured it on a TAFC

I couldn't tell what was happening. It looked like something with 11,000 horsepower left the starting line and got out of it a little early. That's exactly how I would think it would look. I wish I could see a video of one of those monster slicks slowed down so you could see where it's trying to keep traction and wheel speed at the same time and it's all discombobulated looking.

Filip is right. its the camera making it look like the tires are wobbling like that. if the camera was recording at a higher framerate it wouldnt look this way.
tire shake happens a lot I'm on a nitro fueled funny cat team and that was definitely tire shake .... Yeah the camera shakes but that's because of the entire car shaking from the tires

Why does the engine run for such a short time? It seems like the car rolls for most of the race
a top alcohol funny car motor makes around 3500 hp, which is a lot. the run for very short times because either the car runs out of fuel, or the motor blows up. after starting the engine, the only thing keeping it alive is the cylinders dieseling

Just my two cents... While I don't know exactly what the blue bottle is I can tell you it is very unlikely to be a fire extinguisher or "fire bottle". Its pretty standard for fire bottles to be red, nitrous bottles to be blue. No one wants a safety crew member to grab the blue NOS bottle thinking its a fire extinguisher. That said, they do not have nitrous on alcohol cars so the blue bottle here is something else...

I seen that they don't sit and build the revs like these but when they do leave the line a top fuel engine is at 8,500 - 10,000 rpm look it up !

Its an Alcohol Funny Car not the nitro funny car. You can tell because the Alcohol FC has to get the rpms up to run fast. Nitro FC leave of an idle start

You can tell by the description too where the first four words are Top Alcohol funny car
Other than the completely different engine cadence (nothing sounds like TF!), the biggest clue is the throttle stabs. If you did that with TF your clutch programming would get all wonky leaving you with nothing like the launch you were expecting.

Kind of interesting, but you can definitely hear a difference between the car before and after the run. No wonder they rebuild the engines after every run.
Hawkinsm210.. they don’t rebuild them after every run unless the rods are hanging out the side.. and you have a spare in the trailer. Drain oil, leak it down, run the valves, new plugs and fill it up with fuel and off to next round..
Less than 4 seconds on the throttle.

After the burnout you can see the cords on the tyre at about 45 deg too the tyre direction

Too bad they mounted the camera on the wheelie bar. Dudes, mount the camera on the car and take ultra slo-mo shots of the tires so you can see what the hell they're doing under tire shake. Then you can adjust accordingly. Cool video though!

Definatly NOT a fire bottle. They have two that size on the front frame rails. More than likely co2 for the shifter or parachutes.

Derp Herp and yes there is a transmission, a B&J or a lenco. This is a alcohol car not a nitro.
T.N.T Boom they actually are nitro, these cars use the same engines as Top Fuel as well as the same type of gas. The only thing that is different is the body of the cars
