That's an impressive aircraft... hard to believe that it's got a payload so high
Can use some of the most modern air to air and air to ground missiles, and has an avionics suite that makes the f35 envious. Also the sound of the turbo prop, when it's off in the distance a bit is kinda disconcerting, you hear that weird droning that fades in and out.

Actually, this is pretty much newer than most modern fighter jets
its not a old war bird...it is very new...and specifically designed for COIN and light attack ops
Its like saying that an A400 is an “old war bird” because it uses turbo props.
That's one badass little aircraft. But, wouldn't it be wild to look up and see an F-4U Corsair, or even a Vietnam era Skyraider go zipping by? But, this aircraft certainly can fill a niche somewhere...especially in an area like Afghanistan where there's not much of a collection of anti-aircraft, or radar systems that can be thrown at it. Either way, this is one badass little plane.

Finally someone in military bureaucracy stumble upon this ridiculously obvious and simple solution.
Except I don’t think it’s for the US forces. I think they procure them strictly for the Afghan Air Force. However, like football has an offensive team and defensive team, I think we should have a similar high intensity team and low intensity team layout for conflicts.

LOL The P-51 is a WW2 Fighter ie designed for DogFight against piston aircraft. Already the A-29 is a light ground attack aircraft for counterinsurgency and very low cost of operation in a situation of air supremacy.
One was powered by the piston engine and longwave radio, and the other is a datalink turboprop with Paveway support, NVG support, CMFD interface, CCIP / CCRP / CCIL / DTOS / LCOS / SSLC attack modes, helmet support -mounted display (HMD), capable of using smart, GPS-guided bombs, laser, missiles, rockets, etc.,
IT ALSO CAN fight a mig 29, if the missile technology, catchs the MIG FROM FRONTSIDE
ALso can be used with ballistic plates, which support .50, and 20mm shots, but probably will not be seen or shot down Because it flies very low, and is extremely agile, the list goes on ... it is stupid to compare these two very well designed aircraft for different missions in different historical and technological periods
Roberto Valente People are kinda stupid... I think any military could find a good application for this aircraft... It has the same “fear inducing” affect as the A-10, and can be armed to the teeth with a impressive payload for its size... people see propellers and cant get ww2 out their head..

Is that great forward air control practice? I can't see that you'd ever tell the plane about your nine o'clock - the pilot could never see your orientation at that moment. Telling the pilot about his nine o'clock is going to be tricky a lot of the time, given distance, light, cloud...Isn't accurately establishing your position (with smoke if necessary), and then the bearing and distance to the enemy, the way to avoid total balls ups?

Super Tucano com turbofan não faz sentido já que a proposta dessa aeronave é o baixo custo de operação, e motores a reação são mais caros de operar do que os turboélice.

Calma a empresa continua brasileira o avião continua sendo brasileiro, mas alguns lotes como estes do Alfeganistão não é made in Brazil, é do Brasil, mas são fabricados na Califórnia,a grande maioria é feita no Brasil como por exemplo os que foram para as Filipinas. Antes de opinar, deveria saber mais sobre o assunto. Fica a dica! Todos os Tucanos e A29 S. Tucanos, nem a fuselagem inteira é feita no Brasil. Motor turboélice Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-68C e TODOS os avionicos(instrumentação) são dos EUA e uns da Alemanha. A Embraer so faz a "montagem" da aeronave. Brasil não tem tecnologia nem pra fazer um "chip" de computador dos mais chulés é uma vergonha para o país ser tão dependente de tecnologia estrangeira. Se a Intel, AMD e a Microsoft quiser parar TUDO no nosso país, só basta apertar um botão!
Usamos GPSs com satélites que "aparentemente" controlamos, pois a tecnologia dos satélites não é nacional
Nossos radares de controle do espaço aéreo, não é de produção nacional!
O que mais de tecnológico que o Br conseguiu montar foi o Troller e esse também com transmissão e motorização estrangeira...
Não temos computador...Não temos software avançados para controle marítimo, aéreo e muito menos subaquático.
Não temos automóveis GM=EUA, Ford= Inglaterra Fiat= Italia, Volkswagen= Alemanha e segue a lista..
