The songs based on a criminal case study of a fictional girl called purity who was buried alive. Of course its used metaphorically to talk about the feeling of being trapped in your own body and mind unable to escape, with those dark emotions taking away your purity. Song is dark as fuck and easily my favourite ever slipknot song.
Fun fact, that intro is called “Frail Limbs Nursery,” which samples a piece of the video from the “case” then goes into Purity. Frail limbs nursery was not included on the rerelease even though purity was. Long live the Knot 🤟
