    Very innovative for a custom builder to go out on a limb and bring such an amazing guitar to the masses. Awesome looks and voice. Thanks J&J for showing it off and a big thanks to Dana.

    For a Bourgeois voiced top, neck join, and with Bourgeois doing the final quality control, this instrument is an incredible value.

    My entry level Eastman mandolin is remarkably well made. The quality control is excellent. You can't feel the binding if you run your finger around it. Same with the the back and sides. Hand carved top and back with solid sides. I'm very happy. They don't make junk.

    I recall playing some guitars by Martin built during the 1960s and 1970s. I have been consistently unmoved by the vast majority of them. I have played some very inexpensive guitars that were acceptable enough for their price. I believe it is fair to say that roughly from the year 2000 to the present, we are in a platinum (we've surpassed gold) era of acoustic instruments, particularly guitars. Yes, prices are up, but it is easier to find a very good instrument from a plethora of builders.

    Without regard to price, which would you consider a better crafted, better sounding guitar?
    A) Touchstone Series D Vintage, or
    B) Yamaha FG9 R

    Does the touchstone series have poly finish or nitro finish?

    How would you say this guitar compares to the Eastman E8D Alpine wood serie that you guys promoted a while ago.? I mean sound wise and overtones.

    • @johnchapman4232
      @johnchapman4232 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The E8D-TC is a fairly different sounding guitar. This has a refined Bourgeois type of tone. The E8D-TC is a bit boomier in the bottom end where this is a tight sound with tons of volume and response. It's kind of hard to describe. We may need to make a video talking about the difference between the Eastman sound and the Bourgeois sounds.

      There are many misconceptions surrounding the Bourgeois/Eastman collaboration. Perhaps this article will help clear some things up for you: bourgeoisguitars.com/bourgeois-eastman-collaboration-update/

      @@AcousticShoppe Thank you for the information. I appreciate it. I understand what Bourgeois is going for here, but it's still seems like a very steep price point for something assembled in China. Especially when you look at what Yamaha red label guitars are going for coming out of Japan. The touchstone series looks great and sounded fantastic, but they would be much more enticing at $1999 instead of $3,000.

      @Tom Russo We have another video coming out soon in which we interview the team at Bourgeois and directly ask them about these things. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and we're thankful for your continued support of our channel. Cheers!

      @@midwaymonster30 even the highest priced Eastmans not voiced by Bourgeois atr over 2k new. Resale value is terrible also.
      I feel like these might hold value better considering Dana put his name on it.

      @@AcousticShoppe Sorry for some of the sad responses. After owning many high-end American made mandolins including some Collings varnish, and a couple of Gibson F5 Master Models, I currently play a Northfield 4th Generation (partially worked on in China) that retails new for $8K. I'm sure the Bourgeois are worth every penny.
