This was so fun to watch! What a wonderful time we live in where all of these incredible builders are making guitars. We were so excited you guys liked what we do! Thanks @DriftwoodGuitars. Let's hang out at NAMM.
Years ago I used to be a Santa Cruz dealer, and Richard Hoover, aside from being a truly gifted luthier, is a very gracious and kind person. You don't meet many people like him in the guitar business. Thanks for the great presentation. It's one of the few times I've seen a video actually convey the quality of top quality guitars adequately. Not an easy thing to do.
Definitely dig that circle strings. Id never heard of them either, but when making a guitar from the tree, too many luthiers (all of whom are immensely talented) tend to turn the whole guitar up to 11 as far as aesthetics. Pearl, purfling, fingerboard inlays, etc. keep the rest simple. Let the star of the show be the star, so to speak.
I just want to see how Matt Chulka reacts when you do the drop test, pour liquids on them, and saw their boutique guitars in half haha!! Sorry couldn’t resist… I’ll be quiet and actually watch the video now!! You guys are great!!
It's like an Avengers crossover. One of my favorite luthier channels (Driftwood) joins forces with an amazing shop (someday I'll get out there to visit). Greetings from L.A.!
Ryan guitars builds my favorite 12-String Guitars, also McPherson introduced me to Macassar Ebony. I can't afford either but they are amazing and I have to thank McPherson because I would have bought an Ebony guitar if it wasn't for the fact that I heard one of theirs. My breedlove may not be at the same range but it sounds better than most breedlove 12-String Guitars that I've played in the past.
Am I seeing things that aren't there or does the Ryan guitar have an amount of cavein at the soundhole in front of the bridge ? Some very nice work there among these beauties . Peace ✌
That final guitar was so bizarre, not sure why it was included. Thanks for introducing me to a half dozen guitars I'm cant play well enough to warrant buying. But seriously thanks for the insights.
Am not sure the Driftwood guitars are as good as these. I think they are very good at self promotion, and maybe the aesthetics of guitars. So good luck, but ultimately the sound is what matters, and these are some of the finest. Why not feature really top end such as Nigel Forster? Or Sobell? or Turnstone?

I'm eternally grateful that Chris picked up a mirror and light rather than a band-saw when looking at my guitar.
You have beautiful guitars
Yea… but we wanna see too! Lol
It’s amazing to get the perspective of other luthiers on such beautifully made instruments. Great episode!

Yeah , as a guitar maker I must say that it's not the luthiers who are assholes to each other , it's generally players ...... hehehe

That Fairbanks F35 sounded INCREDIBLE! Great video
This is good stuff! A builders take and appreciation, not just the typical specs and someone playing is awesome. Thank you.
Great presentation of really crazy guitars + very educative and fun discussion to listen to, thanks to all of u guys that episode was incredible !
This is so cool seeing you gentlemen together!

Great video guys and loving the camaraderie 🎶 the Ryan sounded the best to me .

Tony Polecastro and Tom Sands were in the other room.

Great to see you at Eddie’s!
Chris is amazing at what he does. And his head is huge! That's not just hair under there. 🤪 Love these guys!!
Hahah what a fantastic episode!

They all sound great but I like the Santa Cruz the best. The Kieran McNally guitar is nice too.
A+ y’all need to keep these guys on speed dial.

28:56... lol, love the sense of humor.
Chris already has a big head. Well.. at least when he unties his hair. 🤣
❤
Did the Ryan sell? I don’t see it on your website.
Yes, that one sold. Sorry!

That’s cool. Thanks!
I know they want to talk about guitar construction, but this is 90% talking and 10% playing.
It's cool. All guitars sound pretty much the same on TH-cam!
@@michaelallen1966 You're kinda right. Still...
Santa Cruz is the best for me

McNally guitars are great
Hanging those guitars by the tuning pegs seems so wrong.
Was Chris and Dave Navarro separated at birth?
Ryan guitars for 14 GRAND BETTER be a cool guitar. Good gravy!!!!
This is no fun because the guitars are not properly miced so all sound tinny and thin.
Kinda hard to listen to them
