I'm a bit mixed on this feature. I do like how it's relatively easy to get Max Particles without buying them and the Power Spots didn't seem to take over any existing Gyms or Pokestops, at least in my area. There are also usually at least one or two Dynamax battles near me. I actually kind of like how the raids don't refresh. It's definitely a mixed bag since it can make it harder to go after specific Pokemon, but considering that these are in-person only, making them last all day is much more practical. That's what I wish they'd do with special Raids instead of making them available for shot time frames. The battles themselves are pretty fun. Granted, I really love Max Raid Battles and Dynamax is my favorite regional mechanic, so that helps, but they're still a fun different kind of battle. I didn't notice the lack of a time limit, so that's pretty cool and could be helpful with the stronger Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon down the road. I really don't like that they are in-person only. I'm sure that they want to encourage more in-person play, but to do that with a brand new feature seems like it's more limiting to rural and disabled players more so than anything else. It isn't too bad right now when the Dynamax Pokemon are relatively weak, but they really should introduce remote Dynamax battles when they introduce stronger Dynamax Pokemon. They can increase the amount of Max Particles it takes so that there's still incentive to do it in person, although they'll probably just release a premium item instead. The one and three stars should be easy to do solo, but I don't know about a five star Dynamax Pokemon. They should also really increase the limit for Max Particles. Only being able to collect 800 a day when you get 300 for walking around just seems really impractical if their goal is to encourage more exploration. Only some Pokemon being able to Dynamax is really annoying. Maybe it's their way to introduce new content with older Pokemon, especially when they are close to catching up to the main series, but it is annoying to have so many Pokemon that can't Dynamax. There's also no real benefit, at least right now, to take part in these battles. Mega Evolution gives players a lot of bonuses depending on their Mega Level, so not having anything like that can make people think that there's no need to do these Dynamax battles. There's not even any medals for taking part in Dynamax battles. This is still better than I anticipated to be fair, but there is still room for improvement that I hope that they'll take in the future.

thank you! its gonna improve even more this was just temporary
I just started pogo and have been watching all your videos. You mentioned in a video you made it for your mom. How active is she and do you guys ever play together lol. Love the work. You're a real life shiny.
Daxi, Would love to get your take on the changes to raids. Metagross going from No#1 to No#11 just after community day where I powered up 6 shadow Metagross feels like such a kick in the teeth.
Number 1 to number 11 in what? Pretty sure if you're talking about it being the strongest steel type, it lost that title with the introduction of dusk mane, and then only fell to spot #3 with excadrill taking over for now. I suspect these moves will be buffed to some degree, either reducing cool down by 0.5 or increasing power because for a 2 stage to take over a 3 stage that's been SO dominant, as well as having basically the games most powerful 2 bar move is insane, not to mention it being a CD move. Actually a lot of CD moves are now lower on the tier list rather than everyday normal moves like you rather have earthquake now on garchomp than earth power. I feel Niantic if they wish to keep CD's as good as they are, and make getting elite fast/charged TMs worth it, these moves will be changed by next season. Why are more normal pokemon/moves now beating timed event moves? That shouldn't and doesn't make sense right? I get you need to have balance, but where's the incentive to play if you can grab the top attacker from any typing at any time?
To fully "Max Out" a Dynamax Pokemon, which means Level 50, all Max Moves unlocked, you need: 416 XL Candies 650+ Regular Candies 3000+ MP Who has that luxury of spending those resources? Unlocking all Max Moves requires 120 XL Candies. That alone is absurd!!!
I just wish that the max amount of mp was higher than 1000. I think it should be at least 5000 that you can hold at one time! I hope that the 1000 max is just for the start of the season!
Yes, I totally agree. Only 1000 mp storage when the whole mechanics is heavily based on it is the worst part. You need MP for battling, unlocking new moves and even for leveling up. Also, I think 100 candies, 40 xl candies for leveling up the move is totally insane. Which means in total you need 400 candies and 120 xl candies to unlock and level up just for a single Pokemon. This is for Group 1 Pokemon. For higher groups it would be even more.
@@YaminiVakhariyathis is straight facts. I think they need to up the base number of candies we get to keep up with all these new features. Then again I've only been playing for like 2 months so maybe long standing players don't have candy problems. Someone please let me know.
@@UmbriosI’ve been playing on and off the past 5 years and I don’t really have candy problems, but yet again all the Pokémon in dynamax raids have been out for quite a long time or have had community days
I'm hoping that if some of the Dynamax Battle features prove popular, they will be incorporated into regular raids. I'm specifically thinking of different costs for different raids tiers (I hate having the same raid pass get me into a 1-star raid and 5-star raid. Makes it seem such a waste to raid anything below 5-stars), NO cost if you don't defeat the raid boss, and incorporation of turn-based combat rather than having it all be just screen-tapping.
Great video explanation Daxi! I think the Dynamaxing has a lot of potential. Main thing on my mind is where to prioritise legendary candy and candy XL - i e. Should i level my normal Pokémon up so I'm it can be used elsewhere in the game (raids, grunts, PvP) or should I level up a half decent legendary and/or its max moves to just use in Max battles? Either way XL candy (and XL rare candy) needs to be more accessible as the grind for legendary XLs will just be too unattractive.
U just evolve the dynamac pokemon to max level and keep? Is this the best idea? Idw lose the special move and i only been able to max attack havent figured out how to switch to max guard or heal
My dear Daxi... They are called Power SPOTS (unlike PokéStops). Just a pet peeve but I love and appreciate the content as always -- you're my favorite Pokémon TH-camr!
Most thorough guide I've seen! Thank you! (Also, I don't play Fortnite, but I've seen some videos. I totally thought people had 2 health bars; I never realized that was a shield)
2 observations on my part. Not sure if they are bugs or not. 1. I’ve seen pokemon spawn around a power spot with power spot when I catch them without doing the dynamax battle. 2. I can recall pokemon early and get all earned candies. I’ve only seen 5 candies earned as max. So I’ve recalled any pokemon I see with 5 earned.
I find it way to easy, and hope 3- and 5- will bring some more challenges. and i also find the "upgrade" reward thing kind of bad, my son just wasted all his pokecoins on it cuz he didnt knew what he was dooing.
A few annoying features as seen in last week… These Max Battles last so long/don’t reset - if you want to do more of a set Pokémon you likely have to travel further to find more. The Max Particles are used for so many different things, 80/1000 cap - cost of raid (with tougher ones likely being more expensive) There is a catch-22 potential with not powering up until you need it (then not being able to afford the Max Battle) and powering up early and not needing it/not getting the opportunities for the best Pokémon.
lasting long isnt an issue due to the fact that you're capped at how many particles u can get. it would be a different story if you were given unlimited particles and particle storage.
@@geodude2406 depends on your circumstances. You can do 4 per day for free (seemingly unlimited if you want to pay). If you want to target a specific Pokémon, you can exhaust all of the local/convenient ones well before they reset, meaning you have to travel further out from your usual playing areas. This is annoying, inconvenient and can be discouraging.
I am sure the 1,000 cap is by design... to get people playing every day in order to revolve unlocking moves, leveling them up and doing battles. Not saying I like it, mind you, especially for all the reasons you mention.
@@danieliusblackius1130 yes - been a few TH-camrs indicating that 1 star MaxBattles cost 250 (as per current game play); 3 star MB cost 400 (speculation) and 5 star MB cost 750 (speculation). This seems to be in part a good concept to replace the Battle Pass which is 1 for any value of raid - putting this pass in to coin value (100) this represents a bad value comparison for a one star raid vs a five star. So basically within the daily cap you can do
I wonder how much help you will receive from Pokémon left at a 5 star max raid? Like will you even need to link with in person people anymore. If not...that will be wonderful!
Correction! You can only hold up to 12 or 13 Max Particles in your storage. If you try to buy more it won't let you. You have to use the MP before you can buy more. So there is a limit to how many MP you can hold in your storage
My wish list for PoGo DMax feature: 1. Remote Max Raid 2. Expandable Max Particles gauge 3. No candy cost in upgrading max moves 4. An item that can turn an existing Pokemon to be able to transform to its GMax/DMax form 5. To turn our Pokemon to transform into ita DMax/GMax form anytime we want, just like Mega
Right now, I hate the system. It's so boring with the very little amount of mp we can hold. You can complete max battles or unlocking moves in about 10 minutes, and then you're just done. I hope the limit for collecting and holding is increased

Ok BIG QUESTION...it appears if you beat a Dynamax pokemon the powerstop won't respawn another one...and forget hours.. I've waited DAYS and nothing respawns there. Will recalling all my pokemon the night before help...because I'm thinking no.

When you recall, do you get the candy still that was collected by keeping it at the station, or only when it is returned to you after the power spot despawns?

I think it'll just be another option. You dont have to do regular raids but you can. Same with dynamax. I've been enjoying them. Candy earmed from dyna can be used on non dyna.
@@khronic_fury great point about earning candy from dynamax for non dyna. I appreciate your point of view, thanks! :)
@miasmith1599 no problem. Thanks for hearing me out.
ive gotten 1 hundo skwowet so far, sadly havent been able to do a lot of char/bulb/squirt raids
Your new set up looks good, with the new angle and lighting set up. It makes you look older, Either way, it all looks good! nice and wonderfully said info!!
thank you! its gonna improve even more this was just temporary
I didn’t know you have to swipe over the bonus boost icon… I was tapping it. Nothing in the official tutorials about that?
no they don't explain it
I just started pogo and have been watching all your videos.
Yes we need a comprehensive video on the changes and thoughts on it!
I like the concept of doubling rewards, but coins? Cmon Niantic, there are too many coins to spend things on atm.
To fully "Max Out" a Dynamax Pokemon, which means Level 50, all Max Moves unlocked, you need:
416 XL Candies
650+ Regular Candies
3000+ MP
Who has that luxury of spending those resources? Unlocking all Max Moves requires 120 XL Candies. That alone is absurd!!!
you missed one way to get dynamax. when you get full 1000 MP for the first time you get additional woolo encounter
@@Umbrios I am playing Pokemon go from 4 years, not a harcore player but I play consistently but even I feel that it is ripoff.
@@YaminiVakhariyahm if a player sit on 30k candies on every Pokemon, whats the problem use them?yes most players that actually play sit on much candy
My wife got a shiny dynamax skwovet 😂😂 didn’t even know it til we were going through her recent catches
I remember randomly encountering a wild Dynamax Wooloo , I think you can encounter them but its really rare
Love the stache! Thanks for another comprehensive go vid. B)
U just evolve the dynamac pokemon to max level and keep? Is this the best idea? Idw lose the special move and i only been able to max attack havent figured out how to switch to max guard or heal
My dear Daxi... They are called Power SPOTS (unlike PokéStops). Just a pet peeve but I love and appreciate the content as always -- you're my favorite Pokémon TH-camr!
lol yess my bad force of habit
Power Spot is Stonjourner's signature ability!
Most thorough guide I've seen! Thank you! (Also, I don't play Fortnite, but I've seen some videos. I totally thought people had 2 health bars; I never realized that was a shield)
Thank you bro this was very usefull as I just got back into the game after a year 👍
2 observations on my part.
2nd one is not a bug. You get the candies that you have got once you recall them.
I find it way to easy, and hope 3- and 5- will bring some more challenges. and i also find the "upgrade" reward thing kind of bad, my son just wasted all his pokecoins on it cuz he didnt knew what he was dooing.
Higher cp = better pokemon? There is no information durring max battles. For exapmle you can see your pokemon cp in raid or when fighting gym
A few annoying features as seen in last week…
These Max Battles last so long/don’t reset - if you want to do more of a set Pokémon you likely have to travel further to find more.
The Max Particles are used for so many different things, 80/1000 cap - cost of raid (with tougher ones likely being more expensive)
There is a catch-22 potential with not powering up until you need it (then not being able to afford the Max Battle) and powering up early and not needing it/not getting the opportunities for the best Pokémon.
lasting long isnt an issue due to the fact that you're capped at how many particles u can get. it would be a different story if you were given unlimited particles and particle storage.
@@danieliusblackius1130 yes -
been a few TH-camrs indicating that 1 star MaxBattles cost 250 (as per current game play); 3 star MB cost 400 (speculation) and 5 star MB cost 750 (speculation).
This seems to be in part a good concept to replace the Battle Pass which is 1 for any value of raid - putting this pass in to coin value (100) this represents a bad value comparison for a one star raid vs a five star.
So basically within the daily cap you can do
Daxi, its Power Spots 😅
could you make a video on what upgrading moves actually does? is it worth the candy and MP?
I wonder how much help you will receive from Pokémon left at a 5 star max raid? Like will you even need to link with in person people anymore. If not...that will be wonderful!
I was lucky enough to get a shiny Charmander and a hundo Bulbasaur just praying I’ll be about to gmax them in the future
Correction! You can only hold up to 12 or 13 Max Particles in your storage. If you try to buy more it won't let you. You have to use the MP before you can buy more. So there is a limit to how many MP you can hold in your storage
good to know
My wish list for PoGo DMax feature:
1. Remote Max Raid
2. Expandable Max Particles gauge
3. No candy cost in upgrading max moves
4. An item that can turn an existing Pokemon to be able to transform to its GMax/DMax form
5. To turn our Pokemon to transform into ita DMax/GMax form anytime we want, just like Mega
cranking that content 👌
I got me a 96% Shiny Charmander out of my 2nd Max Battle and i evolved and maxed out everything I could on him also TMd Blast Burn
Right now, I hate the system. It's so boring with the very little amount of mp we can hold. You can complete max battles or unlocking moves in about 10 minutes, and then you're just done. I hope the limit for collecting and holding is increased
this, all the hype is from brainwashed sheep if you ask me. It's a complete dud of a feature and makes me want to play even less.
@@king_kiff3969ur dumb. It’s super cool and fun. allows people who have lives or have recently started playing to grind a new type of Pokémon form. And i’m sure they will be usable in other ways eventually. Also once Gigantamax Pokémon release doing all these little raids will come in very handy. Super cool Pokémon forms
@@king_kiff3969 No one asked you. The feature is awesome because its leveled the playing field for new players and players that have lives. Not being able to use regular pokémon in Dynamax raids makes it so good. And all the Dynamax Pokémon you get now will be very useful when Gigantamax Pokémon come out. Which look amazing. Even just the appearance and battling of Dynamax Pokémon is very cool and well done. Don’t get mad just cuz you can’t use the Pokémon you’ve spent your whole life getting and can’t spend your whole day doing Dynamax raids cuz it costs money 🤡
fair enoughh
@@king_kiff3969 I think it is interesting... now you can have a Pokemon that acts as a versatile pick in multiple different situations. Can possibly max-evolve for strength in raids, can be a UL or ML Pokemon for GBL, and can by a Dynamax battler. I just wish it wasn't such a late breaking feature... which leads to a RESET on candy grinding (especially XL candy) and rebuilding Pokemon you already have, and have already powered up and double-moved, etc.
@12:27 freaked me the F out lol
oops
Haha
Any OG spoofers (2016) remember they used to put a red X over our pokemon and we had to either transfer it or watch it collect dust. When i saw that X from dynamax i got hit with some ptsd cause ive been legit for yeeears 😂
You also get a 2nd Wooloo the first time you claim MPs from walking 2KMs, fyi.
Excellent guide as always. Oooooh I have to swipe my Pokemon to get those max bubbles? 😅 🤣
Is it worth it to wait for some Pokémon to evolve them so they get their best legacy moves? (Like Beldum in december probably)
My prob is they put the 3 starters, but I don't see many in the wild so getting ca dy is kinda hard atm I had about 1000 on all 3 but now I only have about 200 for each plus xl candy isn't ez to get
I know they have the same letters and everything but powerstops sounds so much weirder than powerspots.
Im not sure how to feel about it. Obviously its hard to get an idea of where they might be heading with something like this, but I just find it obnoxious that you can't use pokemon you already have (At least 1) as a Dynamax pokemon and you have to fully re-invest into another pokemon you may have already used all your candies on.
I got a hundo dynamax bulbasuar on my first raid😅 I'm kinda lucky.
I was so close with my 15/15/14 Charmander. Congrats!
Me too. Used elite charged tm on it!
Ok BIG QUESTION...it appears if you beat a Dynamax pokemon the powerstop won't respawn another one...and forget hours.. I've waited DAYS and nothing respawns there. Will recalling all my pokemon the night before help...because I'm thinking no.
I have this same issue! Its been so many days now and nothing!
Thanks for the insight!
I disagree with claiming your 300 MP first thing. I always spin 7 power spots and then claim my 300MP from the day before...giving me between 1000 and 1080 MP.
you can only collect from 4 power spots a per day though
I collect from 7 power spots every day.
When you recall, do you get the candy still that was collected by keeping it at the station, or only when it is returned to you after the power spot despawns?
Thanks Dax!
Poké Daxi, great video keep it up
There might be some kind of time limit...ish. I went in and tried to solo Beldum, and after a while the Max Boss got a message "The enemy pokemon will deal greatly increased damage!" or something like that, and it insta killed my charmeleon.
Can you get a party play bonus when doing a Dynamax battle?
at the moment no
i am debating whether to spend to lvl1 or lvl2 on attack. just how much more attack damage do you get?
“Its like Fortnite”
Dax 2024
LMAO
I only have so much candy for some Pokemon, and I'm wondering if it's better to use it on powering up the Pokemon or powering up the dynamax move?
I thought i could i gigantamax the Pokemon caught all the Gastly 😂 ty for the Guide Daxi
I got a Lundo charizard and I was wondering if I should heavily invest in it and will be able to gigantamax or will I have to get a different one
Is max guard really useful to use instead of spamming max attacks for Big raids ? Idk if it's better to use candies to unlock it for the gigantamax coming up soon
Take a shot everytime he say's "max" imf gets yousss sooo driunknkkkk
The only question I have is Will gigantamax forms replace any dynamax forms on dynamax pokemon?
I evolved a squirtle into a blastoise to see if it could gigantamax, not knowing gigantamax forms weren't added yet. I really do hope when they do get added, I can just keep this blastoise and not have to evovle a new squirtle
Super helpful, as always!
got two 98% wooloo and charmander... exited to say the least!
Will I be able to gigantamax my perfect dynamax charmander once it’s released? Or will I need a gigantamax battles to get one?
My introduction toturial was 2 wooloo. I had to get skwovet in power stops
Oh wait, I have 2 wooloo from special research and 1 skwovet from special research… so there was 3???
What's the use of gigantamax pokes btw? They're just stronger right? But without the bonus candies that mega evolutions give.
i was so excited because i thought dynamax would have better adventure effects like mega’s, now i’m sad rip snorlax:(
I'm confused that if I catch a dynamax pokemon now will it be able to gigantamax when that version comes out? Will my current dynamax charzard be able to gigantamax when it comes out or do I have to specifically catch a Gigantamax Charizard to Gigantamax it?
Currently we don't know. There is an equal odds for both.
my guess is it it will be completely seperate
What about the white circle around your max moves? Does it do more damage, or w.e if wait for that to boot up?
The doubling of rewards for 200 coins is total crap. It would have been crap at 10 coins.
agreed
The max battles just feel like I'm watching a cut scene.
Does pokemon level affect the damage output for max moves?
Bro is living with 7 doors
how much damage does a dynamax move do? Is it based on with your pokemon's level or stats at all?
i accidentally used 50 rare candies on a raboot for the second quest was lowk salty bc i barely started saving the rare candies but it helped me level a max move and i got a hundo skwovet
