Two great examples of craftsmen who are making great big wall climbing gear. Olle and Skot are both really solid and a pleasure to deal with.

I like to see "Russian technic" in Canada ))) We also have another technic for winter big wall, without rings, it's named "klifs". Although ladders with rings and "hook-legs" more common in Russia

Yann, excellent video as always. Especially nice to see the Russian aiders. Although, I still don’t quite understand, what’s the benefit of having a hook in the top of the adjustable tether, as opposed to the carabiner which you would have in the normal Yates tether?

Thanks John! I never used the Yates adjustable aiders. But the Alfifi is just more simple and nimble: you don't have to clip/unclip every time. It opens a lot of options like loosening it will unhook it so you can start free-climbing without unclipping. Also it feels secure enough to me (I used regular daisies a lot too). Note that I used the Metolius easy daisy a lot. They are arguably similar to the Yates adjustable daisies.

Ask for a pair on a Facebook group. Either the Big Wall Forum or the Big Walls and Aid Climbing. Someone should have a pair they don’t use!
