Don't sweat the small stuff, there's priorities! Enjoy your smokes and talking to that camera, we enjoy watching. Real life chess seems like all the rules have been changed and we don't even get to take a turn.... hope the board isn't too wet 😅
I understand that you are spending time with the family. We are blessed to have you take a few moments of your day with us for sure. I really appreciate it and enjoy the time and the knowledge that you share.
Whenever I see a tattoo I think of something David Letterman said on his show one night. He said he liked to see a woman with a tattoo because he liked the idea that a woman could make a mistake that she'll regret for the rest of her life.
Hello Dave. Just a fantastic video and chat. Glad to hear that you’re having a great Holiday with family. I really appreciate how you summarized your feelings about breaking routine or what you want to do for others compared to your own wants. I get those feelings all the time and often fail at my reaction. (but I am trying and learning) It’s a mixture of joy and pain in the ass! Play chess not checkers. I like that. Regards Mark
Morning Dave Great to see the security team 🐕 😀 And your use of the outside and fire pit is second to none, have to say we never sit out in the garden in winter it’s just too damp grey and humid here, certainly not gonna retire in this country 😂 Great chat today love it when you show how much you care about the family stuff, 😂self check out ya got me there I hate em, try not to use em, if ya don’t like queuing keep away from uk 😂😂 Stay well
Great to see you, Dave. Really good advice. A good one for us “wrinklies is neglected our health. About the tattoos; It has taken me a long time see them without being judgmental. I grew up hearing that the only ones that got tattoos were navy guys and carnival workers. I’m now surrounded by them. I still wonder when I see a young girl with them. What are they going to look like when she is a grandma and her skin is all stretched out and sagging.
Im cool with tatts, especially when they tell a story. A friend of mine's upper body (minus face) is covered in ink that tells the story of his life, his struggles and God's intervention to turn that all around. Its really pretty awesome! Im with you on the self checkouts. I really dont know what theyre trying to accomplish? The same person standing there watching you check out your items, and occasionally verify that you are of age by pressing a button on a screen, is a terrible waste of a resource that could be providing a customer service to the ones who keep their doors open. To your CEO talking points: 1- you may have already covered this book, but "Getting Things Done" by David Allen is a great, easy read. 2- I wish I would have started playing chess with my life at an earlier age, but its never too late.
Very insightful Dave. I just realized how rigid I am in my routines. I need to change that. I also hate the self check out lanes. My son is much more accepting of them than I am. i guess its a generational thing. Checkers not chess. I love that. I am always making short term decisions. I need to work on that.
Hey Mr Dave, great video! I also can't stand the self checkout lines. Lots of good info in the CEO school section! I also don't have any tattoos which is pretty rare for my generation ( im 34 ). I just can't think of anything I would want on my body for the rest of my life
Several stores (Home Depot, WalMart, Target, Dollar General, Et al.) have made the decision to roll back the self checkout idea entirely or dramatically scale it back. But it's not because they have listened malcontents like you who are pissed off at being forced into an unpaid cashier position and made to use a clunky software interface which glitches all the time and they decided to adjust their business model back to a more customer-centric focus. No. They are scaling back the idea due to the burgeoning theft problem in brave new America which is inimical to their overall profit margin and have realized that a self-checkout scheme gives an ever-growing immoral population the ability to steal and scam the system under the guise of legitimacy in a much easier environment.
Dave,
As always great fireside chat. Happy New Year.
Blessings from Pa….
Thanks Shawn!

Family first and always. Thanks Dave for continuing to give up a bit of your holiday time to share with us, it's deeply appreciated.
Great video Dave! Chess over checkers. Great advice! I love how you care for your family, my friend! God bless you and Happy New Year!

Great info tonight. 100% agree about the product of our decisions and the battle of heart and mind. Been enjoying the last few warm days.
When it comes to friendship I try to be the guy that says yes to things. When I have friends that say no all the time I eventually quit asking.
2024 is a blessing in my life. It wasn't perfect because I made mistakes and sin like all humans. No excuses!!
God is good all the time.
Good chat. I had spark plugs installed today. Decisions a must!
I would never ever get a tattoo. The CEO advice was good. I'm sure a few people will benefit from it.
