This is what my knowledge buddy sent me Oko elking something is a layer 4 (type), layer 6 (abilities), and layer 7b (P/T setting) effect. When you make copies of something, the copy is based off of copyable characteristics defined in layer 1, which Oko does not influence.
Kinnan is a synergistic mana deck, its vulnerable resource is card advantage. Blue Farm is a card advantage midrange deck, its vulnerable resource is mana. Beat Kinnan, target its engines. Beat Blue Farm, choke its mana.
I was at the Galaxycon event this past weekend and ended up landing my first top 16 on Blue farm. The meta really was strange though, it was 25% Sisay and only two Kinnans with myself and one other on blue farm
The Level 7 event was my first bigger cedh event and I top 16'd it on Kinnan too lol. I didn't get paired against you, but I might get the chance to if you make any of the other events this month! Thanks for the content. Definitely helped me prepare for this event.
Lesson learned… don’t listen to wounded “deals”. :) hats off to masterful politics. It’s just amazing how you can talk people into doing the opposite of what they know is bad for them. I’m a Tivit Stan and would have definitely mindbreaked that first basalt monolith
Yeah the swiss round game he should have definitely mindbreaked trapped. I'm not really proud of that one or anything that was just something that worked out but I 100% beleive i win that game either way. The deal in my top 16 game I am proud of because I created a situation where it was actively correct for both of my opponents to play along to the situation as if either of them didnt they deterministically lost to the other player. - Wounded
@@ColorsAreACrutchagreed. I've been in a few situations where I could have been killed by either player, but i was the only one with interaction and boards that stopped the other player from winning. Beautiful thing when it works out.
If by easiest to pick up you mean not on the expensive side of the format than you would be correct. But in my experience over the last four years of playing against kinnan, very few people can play the deck correctly. They may understand a goldfished experience but have no idea how to pivot in their deck when faced with any opposition.
Learn all the lines, recognize what works best in the context of that situation, dont get tunnel visioned into playing the deck in only one way. I do offer coaching if you wanted to go over the deck sometime :) - Wounded
Yea layers are weird. Another funny interaction is if you have a stax piece like cursed totem that gets elked, you can throw a helm of the host on it to make copies of that cursed totem, that are not elks.
I don’t know about countering a mana rock fam. I just can’t make it sound okay no matter how much I think about it. The only rock you’d ever really counter would be basalt honestly

“Get f*kd we are playing.” Yes thank you wounded for playing. This top 4 draw crap is annoying. Did we come here to play to win? Or come here to play and sleep??? Specially after you played a 3+ hour slug fest
That's funny in my game at the boil it was "if any of us win we draw right?" Honestly iv only played with wounded twice both tournaments and honestly worst games of magic iv played 1st game he lied to us all. Other game at the boil before the game even started made it a 3 v 1 thanks wounded 🙃

Countering Kinnans mana rocks is wild lol, 100% with Wounded on this one that's terrible magic play 😂. Why trying to build a 1/10000 magical christmas land type of situation to justify where it's still super questionable to counter a rock? You play against 3 people, not Kinnan only.

Kinnan is the easiest deck the pick up. Training wheels that's why there's so much of it in the wild.

Interesting stuff. What's the instant win with Tezzerret and Trophy mage? What do you tutor for?
My favorite anti kinnan card is humility, but unfortunately I really only have one deck that it works in.
Seems like the best way to beat Kinnan is to ballgag the pilot.

So the judge in your top 4 gave unsolicited advice to the eventual winner? That's a big no unless the player asked for clarification.
