    Amazing! Interesting they dont have any sort of side viewing panel.
    I honestly would recommend putting in a camera and having a livestream of the pond on one of the walls.

      I was just thinking the same thing. Like, it would have been more amazing had it not been a pond but a larger/deeper tank going up. Then affixing the corals at eye's view.

    Nice stuff. It would be better if there were some underwater shots. Also, show what it looks like at night with the lights on.

    I love saltwater Ponds, has always been my dream to have one but it gets a little too cold where I live during the winter to keep one outside but maybe inside like this one it could be done!

    Very well done! I do find it funny how they’ve placed that middle LED above that piece of dead rock. Seems like a waste of some good light.

    I love this system.
    I had watched Mr. Turner's build video, and remember drooling the entire time.
    The landscaping directly behind the window really helps to deliver on it, and will look wonderful once the Mangroves grow in. It would be beautiful without the water feature behind the window, but having both creates such a wonderful scene.

    So how is natural sunlight prevented from causing algae in this system? ıts obvious beautiful system

    • @erikm8372
      @erikm8372 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s inevitable to get algae, especially like that, near a window. But all it takes is the weekly maintenance… I had several freshwater planted tanks with dirt as substrate, for the plants’ sake… And my God, I swear those were the best tanks & plants I ever owned, bc of the dirt… but also bc they were right by an eastern and a northeastern window. No lighting provided by me, so they had that perfectly natural rhythm of sunrise and sunset each day. Really makes a difference. Instead of lights on and off on a timer. Unless you have a dimmer. Mine got the morning sunrise, and a hint of afternoon light, but other than that, no artificial lighting.
      Still, obviously, the nutrients from the dirt created a lovely home for algae. Lol, I just found that the key to nutrient/algae management is consistent and efficient water changes. I would do 50% once a week, sometimes up to 80%. But a minimum of half the tank water changed. As long as you leave some water in the tank, your beneficial bacteria are still there, and it won’t fuck up. Plus they’re all in the substrate, the rocks, etc. 😊
      It just amazes me what larger weekly water changes can do! As a kid, I remember reading books, or talking to adults, that would say “10-20% once or twice a month”. No way! Haha! Also, the number of fish and plants in the tank affects nutrient buildup, of course. I only had schools of small fish, some angelfish at times. Once I had a female betta sorority. But I had mostly species that ate algae, like a lot of otocinclus & cherry shrimp, and nothing else… and whatever algae I did see that they didn’t eat, I scraped off and they’d eat the crumbs 👍🏽 …more plants also outcompetes algae for nutrients. Sorry if that was long, and you already know this, hehe

    It is an overkill to have a calcium reactor for a bunch of softies. Even all those coral feeding are redundant. Fish wastes feeds the softies. I think it is just wasting money.

    In the video title… did you mean to say “yup” or “yep”? Not gonna lie, at first I thought it was a racial slur from yesteryear… although I suppose they never really disappear. But the “J” word was much more prevalent, I’ve read, in the 1940s.
