That’s why I don’t go camping. I don’t want those sorts of problems on holidays. Tried drying out a Go Pro and it was toast. It was like the time my infant son dunked by phone in my cup of tea with honey in it. No amount of drying helped.
Yep, she got us home with a fucked stater motor. Had to be sure to park it on a hill if we turned the motor off from that point forward! She's got a new motor now and strong as ever, just smells a bit more funky.
Seriously, Panasonic didn't have proximity detection to turn off the screen when you put your face near the VF? How annoying. Thankfully with the Sony it has the IR detector next to the EVF and you can turn it off for whatever reason. Plus, using the app is great as you can use it to remote control it and use it as a monitor.
Yes, it did. But you could switch between 3 modes with the EVF button on the back. IR sensor, Always on, Always off. It had a dedicated button which ruled. Panny-Boi also had the Panasonic image app which allowed streaming video to phone, and full control from the phone. Couldn't get it to come up as a video source on the phone though which would have been awesome for tetherless livestreaming.
At least you didn't suck enough water into the engine to crack a piston and or bend a rod. Water doesn't compress worth a shit. Ask me how I know. Hey, I found the deepest hole in the river bottom! I started carrying my body harness with me after that. I will walk it and see how deep it gets.
If you change lenses with the camera body upside down, any environmental shit and tiny bits of metal (from the mounting rings grinding together) are way less likely to end up inside the camera. Hope that helps 🎸🤘🏻❤️
@@BradsGuitarGarage ahhh, that makes sense! You were just triggering me so much I didn’t put two and two together. I had that stuff trained into me when I first started out in photography. Apologies if I sounded like a patronising arse.
Sorry for the off-topic question. Purchased a matched set of TAD 6V6GT-STR'S from Tube Depot in the states with the batch numbers of B02 23AH and the second valve with A29 23AH and on one of your posts said the 6L6's from the same batch are known bad from TAD. Does the same issue apply to the 6V6'S as well? Purchased a matched pair just as a spare for one of my amps and are brand new and never installed. Tube Depot will do nothing as I have had them for about 2 plus months, again just as spares and never installed. Have no desire to damage my amp (possibly?) with known bad valves. Just was wondering if you have had any issues with this lot of 6V6's and do I just need to flush them down the toilet as it would be less expensive rather than damaging my amp?
Yes, 6V6GT-STR batch number 23AH have been failing prematurely for me. Quite embarrassing, fortunately the customers have been understanding. If Tube Depot don't respond well, let them know that it's a widely reported issue. Then maybe approach TAD themselves. They are very good to work with.
Damn you, this has sent on a youtube photo rabbit hole... must not buy a new a camera... must not buy a new camera.. my old Nikon is pretty good, ... must not buy a new camera.. OK, I surrender, a new lens???
The best camera in the world is the one you use every day, regardless of the specs, mate! That's why I loved my panny-boi, despite its shortcomings, it was considered part of my body, how much I used it!
Brad, when you said Panny Boi got wet crossing the creek... you weren't mucking around mate!!
Good looking spot btw!!
it's hilarious watching you trying to figure it out... now I don't feel so bad lol... but really nice gear though, very fancy
Thanks!
Thanks mate! I really appreciate it!
I can’t get sucked into more gear agh!
Don't be ridiculous, of course you can!!!
RIP Pany-Boi

ouch thats one 'spensive bath! 😂Way to respond, glad no one got hydro-locked and bent a rod!
Is that the infamous Dingo Piss Creek? Oh and RIP Panny-boi.
The A6700 is incredible camera I bought it when it came out but first you going to have to get used it
See, I knew you guys carried those giant knives down there. Did the Toyota survive?

@@BradsGuitarGarage ahh manual tranny. Hard to even find in the states anymore. I survived high school with no starter parking on a hill 👍
@@BradsGuitarGarage another battle scar for the old girl, and a cracking camp fire tale for you guys.
Changing to a new OS sucks, regardless of whether its a computer, phone, or camera. My condolences.

Yes, I know that one and normally do it, but tend not to care so much when water literally flowed out of every orifice of the camera. LOL!
