Yep Dire Straits.... One of the greatest bands to ever exist. Mark Knopfler is a phenomenal songwriter and guitarist. He's regarded as one of the finest guitarists of all time. Dire Straits were a band that very few come close to. I hope you check out more of their stuff and Knopfler's solo work. He's a master and virtuoso. The whole band was always on Fire live. John Illsley on Bass, Alan Clark on Keys, Hal Lindes on rhythm guitar, Terry Williams on drums, Joop De Corte on Percussion and Tommy Mandel on 2nd keys. Mel Collins joins on sax on a few songs from this tour of 1982/3. Masterclass
I was at this gig, a few rows back from the people you could see clapping, it still blows my mind more than 40 years on. The whole band were at their best, it was the end of a long tour. For me, apart from Mark, Alan Clark a was a star and so was Terry Williams Terry's drumming was outstanding, one of the best live ever, he's the worlds most underrated drummer
IMHO, one of the top 5 , Live, Rock performances of all time
