My goal is to keep working on my health (I’ve got long term issues) and to practice mindfulness in my days more. Less social media more outside time. ❤ Just getting over Covid after surgery it’s all about routines and baby steps. My life has so drastically changed since following our sweet kind Diane for two years. The routines work! From someone with lupus and adhd ..keep at it and celebrate your small victories 🎉❤
I am still up in the air on my word. I want to build physical strength (muscle), but I don't want to call in that which requires mental strength 😂. The word Harmony seems to keep popping up. Hummm Hummmm. (Oh, by the way, I couldn't see a box to make a new comment. I could only reply to a comment...hummmm).
Simplify, for me, too. It's helping me get unstuck with wardrobe decisions and decluttering in general. I'm 80 for heaven's sake. I don't need all this stuff, and no one wants to clear it out when I'm gone. It also helped me earlier today detangling myself from a dark cold evening invite I didn't want to go to; a daytime solution was found, because I had the courage to be true to myself. Your comment on not "trying to find the perfect home" for the treasures we pass on really helps. It's so hard! But -- what's the simplest solution, that's the answer. Thank you Diane ❤
I’m trying not to set traditional resolutions or big goals beyond “Be unapologetically yourself” (meticulous, musical, giggly, geeky, systematic, proactive (except when I’ve been ill for what feels like forever)). I’ve had a big shift in mindset ready for 2025 because I read an annual horoscope (I don’t really believe in that type of thing but this stuck) that said my word for the year is “abundance” & I need to say “yes” to more things. I’ve been watching old Space Maker videos here on TH-cam & I’ve adapted your FlyLady routines so every day has a timed maintenance task, plus a timed “power” declutter period (15-30mins; an hour, anything else is a bonus - this is the bit I got from Space Maker) where I focus on one small pile from my bedroom at a time. I’m implementing a lot of routines and smaller systems that will help improve multiple aspects of life, reminding myself how much happier they will all make me feel. So I’m taking “abundance” and connecting it with “contentment” and “progress” or “baby steps”. Sorry none of those is a verb.
My word this year is "Change." My hubby died in 2023 and I have to go on, but I must make changes in everything from my lifestyle to letting go of items here (but not memories). I'm being positive and have so much support from family and friends. I'm blessed!
Been through this myself, my husband died in 2021 and it's still hard at times, like you I have alot of love and support. Praying you will get through this in your own time ❤
Yes, embracing Change is perfect. My partner of 30 years died two years ago and then my 2023 word was Courage. This year I’m choosing Ease. I still have many decisions to make and so much to process. Diane has been a beautiful motivator on my journey. I’m focused on daily progress to get through this. How lovely that you have support!
I think my word for the year is going to be "clean." (Not spotless or perfect, but clean) Relates to environment, home, diet, language, boundaries, relationships, work documentation, almost anything.
My word is Vitality Been in survival mode since my husband died in 2021 after heart surgery complications. I want to really focus on what gives me life.
Great idea, Diane! My word is "Rest", from Psalm 37:4a. It reads Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him... this tells me not to panic, not to take on too much and let Him work it out. Thank you!
Diane, I’ve been doing a word of the year for 6 yrs now & I find it so rewarding, doable & successful too! This year I’ve chosen “WONDER” to keep me in tune with the environment around me, nature, & the goodness of people that is too easy to take for granted! I need to just stop sometimes & appreciate the wonder of it all. Xx
You should be proud of your achievements. You have so encouraged so many people to improve their lives through your videos and your enthusiasm. I am sure we all feel so glad we found you. You really are an inspiration to us all. You have really altered my attitude to "housework" from when I was a full time worker in the NHS bringing up my daughter on my own to now that I am retired. My home is always "visitor ready" and I feel so much calmer in my life. A thousand thanks for your guidance through the years.
My word for this year is HEAL. I had 2 surgeries in 2024, and in October 2024 I had a bad fall, resulting in another surgery, which will take months of physical therapy and time to heal. I was already feeling like I had "fallen behind". Now I'm having to deal with facing the idea that there are going to be times that I truly can't do anything! but I am going to focus on healing- physical, emotional, and even some relationships.
Do not feel you have fallen behind. There is no schedule for healing. Baby steps are always steps forward. Rest is needed to help heal too. It’s not a race.
I love that. Heal was my word for last year and it really was a good reminder to be kind to myself and find out what would help me through. Good luck to you! ❤
My word is “reclaim” … I’ve felt so off track in all the aspects of life. This word can help me focus on each and make progress. Reclaim my health, reclaim my home/routines, reclaim my finances, and so on.
Last year my word was ‘begin.’ This year I’m going for ‘consistent.’ I’m not going to set new goals I’m just going to work towards them consistently, little by little, each day.
How awesome, my word is also consistency! I am sure you have set wonderful goals and systems and we both will be even better this year sticking to them! I wish you a great year!!
I had picked calm as my word of the year before I saw this video. If something isn't working out the way I would like or even in something simple such as spilling or dropping something instead of getting upset or frustrated I remind myself to stop take a breath and say "calm" . Hopefully during the year I will continue to do so.
My word is Explore. I want to explore our new neighborhood, explore new ways of cooking and taking care of myself, and explore my hobbies of Crochet and Sourdough baking. ❤❤
My word is “redeeming the time.” I have a tremendous amount to do before finishing my graduate degree plus a certification so I can graduate in May. Please pray for me! 🥰
My words are nourish and balance. I see this as a foundation to be able to achieve all the things I would like and to build on what I accomplished in 2024.
My word is Vitality. I'm wanting to work on improving my sleep hygiene, cooking from scratch more often, and starting to exercise weekly. I was looking for a word that would encompass all of those goals, and chose Vitality!
I’m thinking JOY! I feel that I’ve concentrated too much on getting things done. Probably left over messages from my childhood. I want to enjoy my grandkids, my kids, and life in general!
Hi Diane…I’ve been choosing a word for the past five or so years. This year’s word is AWARE. I want to be aware of nature when I’m walking, aware of what I’m eating, aware of my self care, etc.
My word(s) for 2025 are "Showing up," I don't have to do undo years of overwhelm in a week, I just need to show up. Show up for my morning routine, show up for going through my finances, show up for decluttering; show up, not burn up. Ironically enough TH-cam froze when I typed them down the first time and my comment was never posted 🤣
I am working with COMFORT this year. Not the sit around in sweatpants kind, the healthy deeply caring kind. It includes self care, creating a healthy welcoming home, decluttering and uncovering how to make a life I don't want to run away from.
My word is Invest. Investing in myself, my relationships, my career and my future. We became empty nesters last year after our last child graduated from college and moved into an apartment. Since we helped our children with college expenses we put any extra $ on hold towards retirement beyond what we contributed through our jobs. We have increased our retirement contributions and were able to make up last year’s contributions already. After going through a health scare last year I just had my yearly scan and all is good so I will continue to invest in my health. We are investing in our empty nester relationship and our relationships with our new granddaughters. With big decisions throughout the year I will guide them by how invested I am. Good luck with your goal and I know this is the year you will thrive and get 100k subscribers! 🎉
I am going to go for simplify too Diane and work alongside you! You always give such great advice for a procrastinator like me - your line about it not having to be the perfect word made me laugh as that’s exactly what I’d been waiting on! 😂😂 Love your progress not perfection attitude - keeps us all grounded! Thank you for taking the time to make & post your videos! So inspirational and relatable. Wishing you the best for 2025 and hope we are all celebrating 100K followers this time next year! 🎉
My word is Plan My husband retired last year and he gets stressed out with the smallest tasks. He has told me that “when I retire…” we would remodel the house and go on trips and do the landscaping etc. So far we haven’t done anything! Even talking about these plans stresses him out. It will probably require getting some sort of counselor or life coach to help us, but I don’t want to put off living for another 5, 10, or 20 years!
Thank you, Diane. I needed this. I think my word for the year will either be CONNECT or EMBRACE. I really want to feel more a sense of community and I think I'll have to go outside of my comfort zone to achieve this. I appreciate your support.
You are right to be proud Diane you’re the best! You help us all so much and all without endorsements, ads, etc. My word is also Simplify this year as I’m hoping to downsize to a smaller house and I’ve been getting rid of lots of stuff with the help of your decluttering videos. I’ve also cut down on my social life as I was always rushing around and I’ve taken a leaf out of your book and learned how to say no! Now I’m only doing things I truly want to do. Thank you Diane x
My word is “START”! Overthinking and anticipation tends to cause anxiety and procrastination. I have learned from you and many other wise ones in my life that if you just start, even when you don’t feel like it, chances are you will keep rolling! Thanks Diane!!🎉
My words for the year are Small-Bietjie. Doing things one step at a time, little at a time to reach my goals. As always, progress not perfection. Just love your channel. It's just inspiring.
Dear Diane, yes, you should be so proud of what you do here on TH-cam. Your channel is positive, uplifting and fun, not to mention always encouraging. I have learned so much from you and I shall be forever grateful. My word which will help me care for my body and my mind will be NOURISH. Wish me luck, I hope I can keep the positivity going. ❤
My word is BALANCE. I can get focused on one thing and let other things fall behind. I want to spread my focus to more areas in my life to feel more centered.
My word is “ease” I want to live at ease by being prepared and thoughtful. Taking care of business and sticking to my routines to make my life easier. 😊last year was my overwhelming.
Mine for this year is “play”. Last year, it was “heal”. I’ve spent many years refining my routines and understanding how to get things done, many thanks to you, Diane. This is the year I have to regain my joy and sense of play. I’m very excited for it! Even my ukulele teacher said to me, don’t call it practice, call it playing!
I’ve chosen, MOVEMENT as my word of the year. As in getting up and doing 5 minute declutter, pick up or clean at the top of the hour, moving my body more to improve health, and moving my body more in play this year. Go me!! 😁❤️
My word is “refine.” I want to refine my style (both in home decor and fashion), my focus (where I’m spending my time, books I’m reading), my nutrition (I’ve done well in this but want to continue to improve). Basically, keep on doing what I’ve been doing, but with more focus and more intentionality.
The word that spoke to me is "Steadfast." I hope to remain steadfast in my beliefs, my relationships, and my routines in what promises to be a very challenging year. 🦋🦋🦋
My words for 2025 are ‘step’ and ‘alignment’. I want to work towards 10k steps daily, building my business step by step, stepping up in areas I need to challenge myself and doing my Flyday baby steps. Alignment part is making sure I’m aligned with my values and working towards aligning my posture.
I’m thinking “joyful” for my word this year. Not an action but a feeling word. I get very bogged down in work and I let it consume me so I want to find more ways to feel joyful this year.
"Simplify " continues to be my mantra too...and "Let It Go". Thank you, Diane, for your inspiring routines coaching, my life continues to be less stressful, by days more calm, and my mental well being has improved because of it. Your videos are sooo appreciated!
"Planning" is my word for 2025. Planning to expand in little, fun, easy ways in various areas: sewing, savings, decluttering, and whatever else comes up.
That’s my one class rule for my pre-university students. Show respect at all times - for ourselves, each other, the environment around us, and the learning process. It can sound a bit tough, but it’s a great way to mentally reset & get into the right mindset for study (& maybe life in general?).
My word is CONFIDENCE. Biggest goal ? I have to empty my mom's apartment in order to sell it as she is now a nursing home resident since July 2023... Hard work. Thanks for all what you share : so inspiring. 😘
My word for 2025 is ABUNDANCE! Abundant life, health, energy, strength, ability to thrive, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self control, creativity, resourcefulness, wisdom, knowledge, wealth, wholeness and healing etc. Abundance of everything that this year needs! ❤❤❤🎉🥰
Enjoy your videos so much and have followed along many times to get inspiration to clean and declutter. My word is cherish, as in cherish the now, cherish my family and home instead of taking things for granted.
My word of the year doesn't last all year. I've started with "Release" and when that feels firmly habitual or complete, another word will feel right. Your "streamline" really resonated with me!
My word is Embrace. Our son and his 3 little boys moved in with us and it has been quite a change in our lifestyle but I need to embrace my new situation.
Diane - thank you for your positivity! My word last year was Cultivate! Not to make perfect but cultivate; as in working on it, cultivating many things. This year is staying Positive. I am working on being more positive. Saying positive things, thinking positive things, leaving anything that doesn’t fall into the positive category out of my vocabulary. I already say negative things naturally and because I do not expect perfection from myself, I know it will happen from time to time without trying. But I’m positive I will say a lot of upbeat, bright things to encourage myself and others this year! Sending your very positive happy thoughts.
Mon mot pour 2025 est paix intérieure. Arrêter de courir, d'être toujours dans le rush. Être là, vraiment, dans le moment présent, pour les choses importantes. Être aussi en paix avec moi même, mes complexes, mes failles. Prendre le temps d'apprécier chaque repas, ne pas l'engloutir en scrollant. Tout ça pour me faire du bien, et retrouver le calme intérieur. Merci pour vos vidéos qui me poussent à être une meilleure version de moi même
Honesty with myself and others❤️. What do I like? What do I want? What matters to me? Being honest with these questions and finding authenticity in my whole life☺️
Needing balance so my word is Wellness-physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual. Checking off doing something each week in each category. Daily if I can.
I'm so inspired by everyone's word of the year choices! I haven't done this before. I think I will choose RELAX. I'm sometimes too absorbed in my to-do list. My husband just retired and it's time for us to enjoy some relaxation in our daily life and routines.
Connect is my word for the year. Spiritually first of all, I would use the word engage but I’m tired of that word. A word of encouragement for you, Diane. I chose you today because you are not AI. AI did not write your show or read it for you. Because you are personal and real, people will appreciate you more and more. I am sure of this.
I chose my word for this year right after Christmas. It is BALANCE!! You hit on it! I really need more balance in my life and I used the letters in the word as an acrostic, and chose a word in different areas of my life that highlight balance. Thank you, Diane!
Gratitude. I want to appreciate what I already have now and not take it for granted because I'll be sad when it's gone. And maybe joyful action. I'll try and take some positive action everyday.
Congratulations, Diane, on reaching 95,000 subscribers! You are a unique gift to TH-cam. I discovered your channel a year or two ago, and I’m very glad for this! Your inspiration and motivation help to keep me going, even though there are many days that I don’t get much of anything done. I think my word for this year is discipline. Thank you Diane! ❤
FORWARD! It has been Ruthless, then Ruthlessly Simplify. I am still in de-cluttering mode. I also find it is easy for me to "get stuck" and, consequently, freeze/ not accomplish much (there are times when that is alright). Another YTer I follow has a saying "Screw it, get up and DO IT!" which has spurred me on. inconsistency has been difficult as well - FORWARD! - just seems like the right word to spur me on just now. Thank you for all you do - you are knocking on the 100,000 door!!!!
My word for the year is “Balance”. I’m newly retired, autistic, ADHD (with accompanying monkey brain 🙊) and have so many plans and goals. I want to do it all. Now to calm the busy brain and BALANCE my life.
My word is FOCUS. I am working on a vision board as I am very visual to help me stay focused. Been following you for several years now and want to thank you for your encouragement and uplifting spirit.
My word last year was also simplfy. I have been tying to think of a new word and could not, so decided it was simplify again. I just listened to you and was surprised that you also picked it again. I feel that it really helped me last year and I still need it again. Life can get so complicated if you let it. Thanks for all your videos and help! My condolences on your Mother’s passing. Losing a mom is very hard. Give yourself time! 🙏❤️🤗
What’s your Word of the Year for 2025 or your biggest goal? 💫👋🏼😍 I'm aiming for 100k subscribers this year, it is going to MY year, ha ha! 😁🎉🎉🎉
My goal is to keep working on my health (I’ve got long term issues) and to practice mindfulness in my days more. Less social media more outside time. ❤
Just getting over Covid after surgery it’s all about routines and baby steps. My life has so drastically changed since following our sweet kind Diane for two years. The routines work! From someone with lupus and adhd ..keep at it and celebrate your small victories 🎉❤
@@mom-v3e I'm so glad that things are moving forward for you - rah, rah, rah!
All the best for you ❤ 😊
I'm so sorry ❤ You've chosen the perfect word 😍
Been through this myself, my husband died in 2021 and it's still hard at times, like you I have alot of love and support. Praying you will get through this in your own time ❤
Yes, embracing Change is perfect. My partner of 30 years died two years ago and then my 2023 word was Courage. This year I’m choosing Ease. I still have many decisions to make and so much to process. Diane has been a beautiful motivator on my journey. I’m focused on daily progress to get through this. How lovely that you have support!
I am in the same position I lost my hubby in 2024, sending you a hug x
My word is Prayerful. I often put all the stress on myself and forget that God is there and ultimately the one in control.
I think my word for the year is going to be "clean." (Not spotless or perfect, but clean) Relates to environment, home, diet, language, boundaries, relationships, work documentation, almost anything.
I really like this!
I love this too!
My word is Vitality
Been in survival mode since my husband died in 2021 after heart surgery complications. I want to really focus on what gives me life.
My word is appreciate: I am making sure to appreciate the little things EVERY DAY
Great idea, Diane! My word is "Rest", from Psalm 37:4a. It reads Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him... this tells me not to panic, not to take on too much and let Him work it out. Thank you!

I chose a phrase for this year: Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without. I've posted it on the refrigerator to remind me every day.
My word is reduce: clutter, weight, senseless spending.
Mine is minimize but it entails the same: weight, clutter, spending, bad habits etc
Mine is 'lighten'. Similar 💗
You should be proud of your achievements. You have so encouraged so many people to improve their lives through your videos and your enthusiasm. I am sure we all feel so glad we found you. I chose Yohaku, it's Japanese for " Empty space ! " or " beauty in the blank space " - I love it :)
My word for 2025 is Resilience. Personal, emotional, household. With the way things are headed in the US , I’m gonna need resilience .
My word of the year is enjoy! I want to enjoy the little things. Enjoy every moment. Find
something to enjoy every week.
I can’t think of a word yet. Last year my word was “sparkle”.

That's a good one.
My phrase for 2025 is ‘Choose Joy!’ I have a journal that I’m writing down whenever I see Joy in any form
"Brighten" is my word. How can I brighten my day, my home, my friends' and family members' lives, and my countenance and health... 🌞🥰🙏💝
Nice one, June!
@DianeinDenmark Thank you. 💝 Your tip about making the word a verb really helps!!
I really enjoyed reading through everyone's "word of the year", and the reasons for them ❤️
Last year my word was ‘begin.’ This year I’m going for ‘consistent.’ I’m not going to set new goals I’m just going to work towards them consistently, little by little, each day.

My word of the year is hygge. I'm in Australia but I like the idea of a cozy home where I feel safe and loved.
My words are peacefulness and calmness. I worry way too much about things out of my control which leads to anxiety.
These were exactly my two words 😊 and for the same reason. Best wishes for 2025.
My word is Explore. I want to explore our new neighborhood, explore new ways of cooking and taking care of myself, and explore my hobbies of Crochet and Sourdough baking. ❤❤
Mine is "balance": job, studies, kids, dog, health and household. No need to be perfect, but everything needs to get enough. Thank you Diane! ❤

"PACE OF LOVE" is my phrase for the year....my goal is to work, play, do my routines, etc...all at the pace of love for the sake of others and myself!
I am working with COMFORT this year. Not the sit around in sweatpants kind, the healthy deeply caring kind. It includes self care, creating a healthy welcoming home, decluttering and uncovering how to make a life I don't want to run away from.

My word is Plan
My husband retired last year and he gets stressed out with the smallest tasks. It will probably require getting some sort of counselor or life coach to help us, but I don’t want to put off living for another 5, 10, or 20 years!
Just do whatever you want to do. Dont wait for him.
My word of the year is Nurture - my body, my mind, my home, my garden, my family and my friends.
Thank you, Diane. I needed this. I think my word for the year will either be CONNECT or EMBRACE. I really want to feel more a sense of community and I think I'll have to go outside of my comfort zone to achieve this. I appreciate your support.
Be present. I want to focus my attention on what's happening now instead of letting my mind jump ahead and missing out on the joy. Thank you, Diane.
My word is healthy. I'm making healthy and balance decisions this year for my physical, spiritual, mental and relationship health.
You are right to be proud Diane you’re the best! I love simplify as the word of the year. I haven't chosen mine yet, but that resonates a lot. Simplify the stuff, simplify spending, simplify life!
That is a great tip! ❤
Simplify and Soar! I feel freer and less stressed with everything I declutter in stuff as well as routines.
The word that spoke to me is "Steadfast." I hope to remain steadfast in my beliefs, my relationships, and my routines in what promises to be a very challenging year. 🦋🦋🦋
Relax is my word and I completed a goal of 25 in 25. I tend to rush and over book myself so this is working 🎉
Simplify and Thrive will also be my words. You are my anchor. I am so grateful for the help you are in my life. ❤
Aww, thanks, Julie!
I too will be keeping my word from last year. My favourite word....Tranquil.
I feel like I want to choose something along these lines.
I’m thinking “joyful” for my word this year. Not an action but a feeling word. I get very bogged down in work and I let it consume me so I want to find more ways to feel joyful this year.
I chose the same word!🥰 Joyful! Joy to the World 🥰 Joy to you. 🥰
Thank u Diane ❤ I’m blessed to have you in my life 😊
"Simplify " continues to be my mantra too...and "Let It Go". Thank you, Diane, for your inspiring routines coaching, my life continues to be less stressful, by days more calm, and my mental well being has improved because of it. Your videos are sooo appreciated!
Great choice, WestCountyGirl - even if I say it myself, ha ha! And THANK YOU for the kind words!
"Planning" is my word for 2025. Planning to expand in little, fun, easy ways in various areas: sewing, savings, decluttering, and whatever else comes up.
My word is “respect “
Respect for myself, my husband, my house etc…
That’s my one class rule for my pre-university students. Show respect at all times - for ourselves, each other, the environment around us, and the learning process. It can sound a bit tough, but it’s a great way to mentally reset & get into the right mindset for study (& maybe life in general?).
My word is CONFIDENCE. Biggest goal ? I have to empty my mom's apartment in order to sell it as she is now a nursing home resident since July 2023... Hard work. Thanks for all what you share : so inspiring. 😘
👍 Have courage, xpu can do it. I will have to do the same this summer .
My word for 2025 is consistent. ❤
My word this year is Improve. Improve just a little bit every day wherever I can.
Bon choix, Bea!
I think I will go with DO IT. You don’t have to want to do it, just do it. Don’t put it down; put it away. DO IT. 🎉🎉🎉
I choose clean and cozy. That would be my ideal for myself and my home… clean, cozy inviting home, clean, eating, and living.
Simplify and Nourish are my words for this year
Honesty with myself and others❤️. What do I like? What do I want? What matters to me? Being honest with these questions and finding authenticity in my whole life☺️
Needing balance so my word is Wellness-physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual. Checking off doing something each week in each category. Daily if I can.
What a great plan, Cindy - you will surely achieve your goals this year!
Aww, THANK YOU for that, S Nav! 🙏🏼😊
I chose my word for this year right after Christmas. It is BALANCE!! You hit on it!
I really need more balance in my life and I used the letters in the word as an acrostic, and chose a word in different areas of my life that highlight balance.
Thank you, Diane!
Thank you Diane for helping us all thrive!
I like simplify as my word. It's working for me. Good luck getting to 100,000. Almost there! Who hoo!
Simplify. Can’t think of a better word for this stage of life. Thank you, Diane!
balance was my word last year. This year is creativity - in all I do, house work, gardening, cooking, how dress, list goes on....
I love the word nourish, in my mental space, and my health
My word for 2025 is Shine.
My word is: ACTION…time to do stuff not just thinking and planning!
Congratulations on 95K+ subscribers!
Thank you so much! 🤩
My word for the year is “Balance”. I’m newly retired, autistic, ADHD (with accompanying monkey brain 🙊) and have so many plans and goals. I want to do it all. Now to calm the busy brain and BALANCE my life.
Gratitude is my word of the year
My word is crispy. A crisp wardrobe, home and life.
Thank you, Judy 🙏😊
