Good video, I have had my GTR since March, done 1700 miles on it and so far I think its great. It was a tough decision to get it as I traded in my beloved ZZR 1400 but comfort wise no regrets and for the average speeds we tend to do I have not noticed the decreased BHP. As you mentioned more than enough power.
Ello. Couple of things to point out. Major refresh was 2010 not 2012, just in case anyone is buying. The ZZR went gen 2 in 2012 so that might be where the confusion is. Only other point is the motor is kind of the ZZR motor, so long as you ignore the rather heavy duty change to shaft drive and the totally different VVT head. So *sameish* core but very different at the top and the bottom. They are also different rotating assemblies (compression ratio is different as well) and even the crankcases have different part numbers, so it's very loosely based on the ZZR motor. Or as Kawasaki say themselves 'derived from'. Other than that, cracking video mate.
@@SimonGTR1400 I'm just about to buy one for an everyday yeet machine, so I've had my head buried in books/info about them for a few weeks now. 😂 I spend most of my time building turbo bikes and custom stuff so I like to know the ins and Outs of what I'm getting into. Looking forward to hyperdrive comfort. 😁
Simon, 100 percent agree on the bike. Glad to see a video on her as I could not find any videos about the bike when I was looking last year. I sold my BMW R1150RT and wanted another sport toured. I always had seen the Concours as an alternative bike to my BMW and figured it was worth a try. Got the 2021 and have 7k on it in 8 moths of ownership. Wonderful bike and enjoy it every day. Need specs on the top box. You said it connect to the back plate, with out the additional plate and cost of color matching plates they sell on the 47 liter ones. If anyone is asking, believe Simon on his video. I too will attempt to have the same service on mine as the BMW was always 1200 dollars a service and that was every 8 to 10 months. So I will see about the cost of breaks, shaft and oil will cost every year. Great video. I support more from you if this one does you proud.

Sport tourer, with much more emphasis on sport. It wasn't made to be a luxury tourer like a Gold Wing or HD Street Queen. Made for ripping up back roads rather than going long distances on the interstate in a stright line.
@@SimonGTR1400 Cheers! I agree but I went ahead and got one recently. I don't feel much of a power gain but it is absolutely a smoother power delivery and less snappy throttle, for sure. Apparently there's a war between the two big tuners in the online so I just picked one randomly and stay off the forums 😂
I got the shouldaben mountain runner flash. Such a difference. No more snatchy throttle, smoother gear changes, more mid range, better mpg if riden easy.
Great review. A real rider tells the story.
144.000 kms + still perfect..
Picked up my 15 Concours in 2019 with 7500 on the clock.. great review. Thanks

It's my forever bike, or until I get to old to hold it up anymore

I will be in the states later this year, staying in Orlando
Great Review Mate, Good Camera Work
Cheers buddy
How many miles did you have your valves checked.
Currently on 67000 miles
Mechanic checks every year. Never had any adjustment
Fantastic motorcycles!
They are!
Love that bike and she sounds cool !
Thanks buddy
Nice video bro. Enjoyed it. Do you still have it?
@@RRRRefuelRideRace yes buddy . 80k miles on the clock and still going
Thanks for watching 👀
No cruise control on a bike that identifies as a tourer? WTH

Hasn't been a problem for me, but then I have never had cruise on any of my motorcycles. I have done 1000 mile days on mine, Air Hawk seat pad helps.
Aren’t you able to swop the locks in the top boxs they are very similar 👍
Yes I think you can as they are all made by Givi.
Would just be a matter of swapping the barrels out
@@SimonGTR1400 I think with some you have to put the key part way in and turn to remove the barrel. I’m sure I saw something on utube 👍 back to 1 key
Only thing i dont like is the keyless stuff
I didn't at first
But as time goes on I've found it to be such an advantage
nice review.does it have a radio ?
no it does not come with a radio sadly
I love my GTR. How tall are you? I’m 6’3” and I think it would be more comfy if I were not so tall.
I'm 6ft (almost) and find it comfy
I don't have bar risers but I'm gold they do help if you are on the tall side
@@SimonGTR1400 I’m considering some.
Have you gotten a flash on the ECU? If so... Which did you go with?
Haven't had one. Seems to be spray enough without it
