Hey everyone! Here it is, my long awaited documentary about my favorite car brand, Acura. This documentary takes a look into their origin, the ups and downs of their journey, and where they're headed. I sincerely hope you enjoy this new form of content I worked diligently in creating. They were close to bringing Acura to the next level back in the 2000s. The 2nd gen RL/4th gen Honda Legend was supposed to get a RWD V8, and the NSX was supposed to get a V10 with a guarantee by the old Honda team that it will be faster than the new Nissan GTR and Lexus LFA. Both Acuras got cancelled due to the financial crisis. The Acura RL became Accord-based with a V6 and SH-AWD, and the V10 NSX became the Honda HSV-010 race car in Super GT. The stubborn beak didn't help. So many lost opportunities...

I was OBSESSED with the 09 TL, my dream car, in every way and never understood the 3rd gen TL
after finally buying the 4th gen and working on it, the 3rd gen started growing on me, but I wouldn’t trade the 4th gen for anything.
I get now how they aren’t a TRUE car enthusiast dream, but I liked the corporate classy shit. And the new Superman grille is ABSOLUTELY in the right direction

I never knew what NSX stood for either! Acura is on the upswing for sure; I'm digging their new design language....I'm just not a fan of their interiors-too space agey. I remember when I graduated college I wanted the then new 2005 TL sooooooo badly....but I was sooooo poor LOL. Even today that car STILL looks good!
Very true, the second gen tl type s aged beautifully, even today, they're relatively expensive for an older vehicle. Thanks for watching!
We”d like to see you add Integra type-S in this video, also rumors are; new type-R integra will be a coupe, based on 2.4L turbo making 380 HP!!! (internally they call it GT-2 concept?!?) it is HUGE if true!!

I’ve had a Honda Accord Lxi , an Acura TSX, and currently a 2021 RDX, which I’m loving. Just wish there was a hybrid version.
Ironically I think Acura will make a Type-S version of the RDX before they even consider a hybrid hahaha thanks for watching!
@@ObsessedAutoReviews You are correct! The salesman at the Acura dealership basically told me the same thing when I lamented about no RDX hybrid availability.😄
Acura could become a sport coupe high perfomance car brand.
I'd love to see coupes but the market seems small for luxury coupes nowadays tbh, BMW dominates that market.
I think what acura needs is am actual brand new RWD architecture, tweaks of their design language, more refined interiors and a TT V6 at minimum for their performance oriented Type-S models.
But if you do all that they are going to get much more expensive and everyone's so invested in EVs that I don't think any new engine development is happening unless Honda does something 😮💨

@Caio lima caldas I think they have a partnership to collaborate on an EV, I'm not too sure of the details unfortunately. 🤔
The Downfall is Jon Ikeda's failed Precision Concept design, influence forced on the entire line up. There could have been a Win" with the early ILX, introduction of a coup version in type -S, that could have been the Integra revival. Instead the ILX was given the hideous facelift
The information in this video is very inaccurate. The years are incorrect, and multiple generations of Acura models are skipped.
