  • Brant Crenshaw demonstrates how to tie a wind-on leader tackle using Seaguar Fluorocarbon leader. Wind on leaders create a very clean, strong and seamless loop-to-loop connection between the seaguar fluorocarbon and mainline spectra line that reels through the fishing rod guides easily and can be quickly changed out while fishing for large Tuna and other offshore game fish.

    Looks like it came from a tackle shop once finished. You could do 150ft, 100lb braid and 150ft, 80lb mono and get 300ft for tuna fishing and the wind it on tight to the reel. Thanks foe the howtoo vid

    What size hollow braid are you using for the 100lb Seaguar fluorocarbon?

    • @jman3336
      @jman3336 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      dmayor1974 go with 100 pound braid. as he said, you want to match the line strength as close as possible.

    When you say "braided line" it's actually dacron right? What size dacron is needed for 100lbs and 150lbs fluro?

    • @jeffsmith825
      @jeffsmith825 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not Dacron. Most of the hollow core lines are gel spun polyethylene. PE, Spectra, Dyneema, whatever they call it where you are. It's braid. They take 12 or 16 strands of the polyethylene and braid it in a way that creates a hollow center. You can also splice Dacron, it's been done forever, but the hollow core braids are going to be much thinner and easier to work with.

    What happen to the old basic fishing? You make it sound harder than it really is.
