- Here is a presentation narrated discussing the future vision and updates for the next year of Space Engineers 1 development. Some were concerned that SE1 will die off update wise, but keen have highlighted there are 2 separate teams working on both games actively.

Hi guys, I know the audio isn't great. It's what I got on the camera, I can make it out, but if you can't, the slides on the presentation some up all you need to know.
Its good to hear that they have plans to continue to develop SE1.
Nice to see what their thoughts and strategy are in this presentation.
I eagerly await the next batch of content especially with the PVP side of things.

Yeah it’s cool they both know SE1 is going to run out of road on the engine it’s on hence making se2, but they’re committed to taking it as far as that road has left. SE1 wasn’t even supposed to have planets but they shoehorned them in the absolute madlads so who knows what else is possible. By the time 2 has survival and planets I probably won’t be looking back but let them cook as long as the heat stays on.

Thank you so much for posting this! The Steam forums have been flooded with trolls claiming SE1 is completely dead now that SE2 has been announced.
One thing: Your audio is really muddy... not sure if you could pipe it through Audacity to clean it up.
I hope they continue to add these improvements to the official servers. Always think it's strange there are no cargo ships to raid or abandoned stations like I've found in my singleplayer games.

Yes it was for me, the presenter sounded like he was mumbling. However, the closed captions appear to be workably accurate at least.
Were you able to decipher what that new prototech block is? Small grid assembler perhaps?

They should make an official video about SE1's future, people are only concerned because KSH's channel is just repeating itself at this point

I'm confused, what is the point of SE2, and if not to replace SE1 (so it's a slow death), are going to run both games going forward..??
SE1 is basically going to fund SE2 until they start launching DLCs for it
SE2 hasn't been released. There's an open Alpha for the people curios and enthusiastic. But the game is still under development. SE1 is a finished product with live support/updates. For now, Keen have no finished product to offer apart from SE, so it's an honorable thing to continue supporting it, even now that SE2 is public. Once SE2 becomes their main product, and becomes a product they can represent themselves with, then it'll make sense to abondon the outdated SE1. This might happen even sooner, although I doubt that, not as long as SE1 has more content. Personally, I'm impressed with their approach, and think it's quite honorable. And yes, there probably will be more paid DLCs for SE1, those who deem them important and valuable can buy them, everyone else will still get improvements on the core game regardless.
Maybe its my smartphone audio quality... defenetly need to hear that again with headphones
