      Kind of true, but like I did on the way back, you can sit on the motorway / dual carriage way for an hour no probs, so it was pretty useful in that scenario. (it also works a treat on rural roads..most of the time!)

    • @manwithcorsae7738
      @manwithcorsae7738 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MartinRisbyVR Hi Martin, you shouldn't count the battery rental as the same as fuel costs. If you look closely at it, the battery rental brings the cost up to the amount you would have to pay if you bough it outright. EG. My Zoe payments (previous car) per month were £224 + £90 (car +battery) = £314. MG (which is slightly cheaper) is £306. So in both cases fuel is above the cost of the vehicle. You then take into account that the average ICE fuel is 10p/mile when average EV is 1.5 to 2p/mile.

    • @jur4x
      @jur4x 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MartinRisbyVR yep, same story in my case. Only for me it was also an issue with APR that Nissan offered for a Leaf. The difference in APR and insurance completely destroyed £70 savings in fuel.

    I’ve watched the whole rural leaf series and looking forward to this one. Regarding the Honda dealership challenge I feel like it’s would be similar to testing how much weight a ballerina could lift - you’d be testing it on the task it is least capable at. It’s a great little car and probably brilliant at that but with that range it is a poor motorway vehicle. The compromises you’ll have to make will make EVs look bad.
    I’ll admit it’ll make for exciting viewing though.

      Peeps need to realise its not designed for this at all, just like the lane assist isnt for country roads - but will kind of work on them. Instead of just doing 1 video doing a review on it...or just filming the same journey over and over (to work and back - ~12 miles a day) this was a way of legitimately opening up content.
