      The whole reason Russia invaded was since 10 years ago NATO wanted Ukraine to join, and thats alright if it's a trade agreement but it meant they can put missile launchers and military on the boarder basically holding a gun at Russia Cornered , YOU FORGET CUBAN MISSLE CRISIS BUT THE ONLY REASON THAT ESCALTED WAS CAUSE OF AMERICA PUTTING MISSLILES IN TERKEY

      @@matthewstubbs4413Ukraine wanted to join.
      Putin knew NATO would have never invaded Russia. No intelligent person since Hitler has thought that invading Russia which has nuclear weapons is a good idea.
      This war was about Putin cementing his legacy. When you have literally everything you can possibly want materialize there really isn't much more except for being in the history books.
      Putin invaded his neighbors to recreate the power of the Soviet Union. To be known for that.
      The Russians never stopped trying to expand even after the collapse. The second they got on their feet they invaded Chechnya and Georgia, and then Ukraine. See a pattern?
      Ukraine knew what was up. Was tired of having their affairs messed with, and wanted to join NATO as they saw the pattern of Russias aggression.

    So, you missed some very important information about the missiles that are currently used with HIMARS systems.
    They are equipped with a system for detecting GPS jamming equipment. If they detect that they are the subject of attempted GPS jamming or anti aircraft missiles, they can lock onto that signal instead of their initial target and destroy the jamming hardware

      From the standpoint of an American who pays for those toys, it's downright hilarious how many nasty surprises superior US tech has ready for inferior Russian "countermeasures." From the Russians' view, it has to be terrifying and demoralizing. All they had to do was not invade their neighbors who were just minding their own business.

      Eh. Compared to other, much less supported forces, which have fought back invaders their performance is underwhelming.
      The Vietnamese engaged the US in a morale deteriorating guerilla war for multiple years with comparatively little support from the Eastern Bloc.
      Even more extreme of a comparison would be the Taliban which won a Guerilla war that lasted more than two decades with almost no external support from major players.
      Given the immense sums and quality of the equipment delivered, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are severely under delivering. But that's the decades of corruption and ailing command structure. Their military has been in shambles for several years now and these cracks have come to light. Same with the Russians who could compensate with better and more numerous equipment.
      Still, given the more or less unrestricted support Ukraine enjoys, their performance is far from ideal and kind of brings into question if the quality of equipment is even necessary or if 2nd class options wouldn't be more cost effective given the poor real world performance.

    Every time I hear of Ukraine forces scoring a victory I smile and clap. The Russian bear is getting its fur burnt off in the form of 100's of 1,000's of casualties both killed and wounded. Although the news tends to focus on the kill factor, the wounded are just as important. A wounded soldier not only can't fight but requires substantial medical treatment and transport away from the front. This is very difficult for the Russians as their transport system is only set up to deliver fresh troops to the front, not to the rear and it ties up vehicles that are desperately needed elsewhere. Add to this the reaction of the citizens who see these crippled young boys, and most of the conscripts are in their late teens or early 20's, and the families that will have to care for them forever. Of course you can't make comments about this in Russia, but make no mistake it has a devasteting impact on the populace.

    • @tehfiredog
      @tehfiredog ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and no... most of the Russian soldiers fighting in the Ukraine are from the poorest part of Russia, mostly from the west of the country. In many cases they joined the army because it was that or starve. So while it's true that everyone of them injured is one that can no longer fight, the bulk of the average Russians - which are all in the East of the country - are far enough removed from the fight that it'll have minimal impact on their view of the war.

    • @lajoyalobos2009
      @lajoyalobos2009 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Being wounded on the Russian side is almost a death sentence in of itself. Assuming you aren't left for dead on the battlefield by your comrades, your commanding officer may simply end your misery with a single bullet. An older woman in a liberated village near Kyiv said when the Russians took over, an officer made rounds with a pistol and killed any Russian troops unfortunate enough to be wounded, with no regard for how minor or treatable the wound was. This is a fairly common occurrence too. If you've managed to survive your comrades abandoning you and your superiors don't kill you, then you have to contend with subpar medical treatment behind the lines. Many Russian wounded simply lay on the tarmac waiting for transport as reported by one complaining Russian milblogger. From there, it's on to a civilian hospital in places like Rostov which are probably overcrowded and overworked. Some wounded are simply forced to continue their duties on the line until they literally drop dead. One Russian soldier in an intercepted call said a fellow soldier was suffering from "shell-shock" and he just up and died the next day. It seems that the soldier in question may have been hemorrhaging from a concussive blast and ended up slowing bleeding out internally. That's to say nothing of those that eat poisoned pies, drink contaminated puddle water after the Kherson dam breach or suffer radioactive exposure when digging trenches in Chernobyl.

      A recent release by the uncoordinated Russian government space indicated that some 230,000 families had requested benefits for the death of a soldier. Looks like the UA figures on Russian battle deaths may be more accurate than supposed. A combination of terrible tactics and communication in Russia's armed forces and leadership meant Russia lost the initial advantage and excellent use of NATO weapons by Ukraine dealt a heavy blow to Russia. Issue is now that Russia is adapting the only way for there to be any major breakthrough for Ukraine is a massive amount of heavy armour and logistic vehicles. Without that, drones and shoulder launch weapons can only do so much. Right now as it stands this war could easily last another 5 years plus.

    • @sailcat9
      @sailcat9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Odd that Republicans never got tired of appropriating trillions of dollars for the two wars in the Middle East that were started and bungled by Republicans. The war in Ukraine is, by comparison, a bargain, especially when one considers that Russia is squandering weapons, men, and cash on a war it cannot win while costing the US relatively little. Republicans are just tired of a Democratic president looking like he's standing up for freedom and Democracy while they are floundering around in the House of Representatives and whose corrupt orange master is being prosecuted on a number of fronts for a variety of felonies. It's not a good look.

  • @Станислав-с6п8я
    @Станислав-с6п8я ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The announcer does not understand what is happening in Ukraine and why it is happening the way it is happening. Russia invaded Ukraine with only 120,000 soldiers, which was not enough to even wage a war, much less capture Kyiv, but enough to force Ukraine to sign the papers Russia needed. And in March 2022, Ukraine is on the verge of defeat; the necessary papers in Istanbul were signed by representatives of Russia and Ukraine. But British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived and said, “Zelensky, forget about the papers, let’s continue fighting, we will help you.” and Zelensky decided that he could win. And then Putin changed his plans. First, it was decided to punish Ukraine itself and occupy additionally the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. It quickly turned out that the Russian economy was not going to fall into decline due to sanctions, weapons production was increasing many times over, and public support was growing. And in this situation, it was decided to punish not the Ukrainians themselves, but their owners. The tactics of war of attrition were chosen. Ukraine has been turned into “a suitcase without a handle, which is unbearable to carry and a pity to throw away.” Ukraine consumes billions of dollars of Western aid every month just to stay afloat. War costs Westerners much more than what Westerners think.
    1. Russia has missiles similar to Himars, they are called Tornado-M, they also use a global positioning system like GPS, only Russian. But missiles of this type are no longer MLRS, they are tactical missiles. Their niches of application are completely different. MLRS missiles should be very cheap and mass-produced and should massively cover large areas, suppressing firing points and destroying fortifications over a large area. As for the destroyed Himars systems, there are videos recorded from reconnaissance drones in which you can see how these “inflatable” Himars launch their missiles, drive along the road and hide in a shelter, after which a tactical missile flies into this shelter from the Russian side, a secondary detonation is visible. The problem with the inflated number of destroyed Himars systems is easily solved; their number was delivered more than what was declared by the public. Nobody wants to admit the fact that they are being effectively destroyed. This will greatly reduce sales of these weapons. Therefore, in order to preserve the possibility of their use, they supply new launchers, and then laugh at the Russians as the Russians "destroy dummies". Do you seriously think that the General Staff of the Russian Federation does not know that the number of declared destroyed targets exceeds the number of officially delivered Himars vehicles? They know it very well.
    2. I am surprised that you are not aware of that diplomatic scandal when the Ukrainian general said that Bayraktar drones are an absolutely useless waste of money. During the first weeks of the war, the bulk of these drones were destroyed by Russian air defense systems. Contrary to what is said in this video, these drones are clearly visible on radar and are easily destroyed by air defenses. The bomb load on these drones is very small, they cannot destroy let alone tanks, even the boat that we saw in the video survived a bomb hit and reached Sevastopol by towing! Bayraktar drones showed their extremely effectiveness in the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan for the reason that Armenia does not have effective air defense systems. The same cannot be said about Russia. In the first hours of the war, the Russians landed on Zmeiny Island, captured all the Ukrainian soldiers, and installed the Pantsir-S1 system on the island. It was this complex on the island that reaped the “bloody harvest” of Bayraktar drones. The air defense complex stood there for a long time; the Russians retreated only after France transferred its long-range Caesar artillery to Ukraine, which was able to fire at the island from the shore. When the Russians left the island, the Ukrainians tried to land there in a helicopter, the destruction of which was shown to us on video.
    So it was a Ukrainian helicopter and Ukrainian special forces died there. And it was destroyed by fighter bomber of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Тwo Ukrainian SU-24 bombers attacked the island and the helicopter’s landing area. They never returned to base; they were shot down by Black Sea Fleet fighters over the sea. The Bayraktar drone was supposed to accompany the landing operation and provide reconnaissance in case there were still Russian troops on the island. But the Russian troops were no longer there and no one was going to return there. Artillery fire from the shore damaged the Pantsir-S1 air defense system and it was subsequently simply blown up during the retreat from the island. Now Ukraine uses no more than 1-2 Bayraktar drones to monitor the front line, in the best cases to direct its artillery to advanced Russian positions. But no one risks flying to the front line anymore, it’s too expensive; too many of these drones have already been lost. The drone that Lithuania purchased for the Ukrainian Armed Forces lasted about a week.
    3. As for Javelin systems, this is a good anti-tank system. Many hundreds of Javelin systems were captured by the Russian army in the first weeks of the war. Footage of captured Javelin systems can be seen on the same channel in a video dedicated separately to Javelin. Now these complexes are used by units from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Now the Republics have become part of Russia, units of the people's militia have become parts of the Russian army, but captured equipment that was dropped into these units since the beginning of the war is still in use.
    4. Spoiler alert. The newest NATO tanks turned out to be ineffective and their combat survivability turned out to be lower than modern Russian tanks. To destroy Leopard2 tanks, you don’t even need to be hit by anti-tank missiles; an FPV drone with a grenade from an old RPG-7 is enough.
