1987 BMW 325 E30 Crank No Start

  • 1987 BMW 325 E30 been sitting for a while after the paint job and now it doesn’t start. This car belongs to Mike @MK TECH and he abandoned it. I decide to save it and get it running. If you would like to see this car getting built check out his channel @MK TECH. Hopefully he will complete this project, this is a cool car and I would like to see it get finished

    Oops!! Just sent this comment to the wrong channel!! “Dude keep them sparks away from the gas!!” Any way: check idle control valve? I still haven’t watched full vid I’ll get back into it and see what happens! Happy old bmw Mortoring!!

    I see you have 0 rpm when cranking. Crank or speed sensor circuit. One or both could be bad.

      Been a while. Don’t think that RPM gauge worked. But got it running. Thanks for the info

      I'm not 100% sure about E30's, but in E34's the RPM will gauge will not move while cranking, only after it starts idling. This is on all E34's, it's a feature not a fault.

    On minute 17 when you where not getting injector pulse what did you change back to get pulse what two plugs where the same?

    BMW, Volvo and Fords first EFis used the Hi-Lo two stage Pump system. Right first check man! Self priming has been via mutiple stage pumps on Fords since 1985. BMW stayed with the HI Li for many years after.

    Pre OBD 2 is tough. It'd just like Ford Australia's first LE-II EFi 4.1 liter 149 hp engine that ran a BMW 323i fuel injection computer. Vane meter, earth's and ignition were block fault checks. I'm just at the plug part.

    Could you hear the fuel pump running??? I've heard that you need to hear it running it should make a sound

      Fuel pump runs only when cranking if I remember correctly
