Thank you for spreading awareness about OT! I always love seeing healthcare professionals expressing appreciation for other professions. The only thing I would add is that occupational therapy encompasses more than just ADLs. We have 8 areas of occupation and ADLs are only 1 of them! I would say if PTs are “movement specialists” then we are “activity analysts”. We look at what it takes to carry out activities, how a person performs the activities, and elements of their environment pertaining to their participation in the activities. Our scope is a bit more holistic than PT (and I mean this respectfully) because we are equipped to address any problem areas that affect function. I.e. movement, cognition, psychosocial, developmental, etc. It’s a very integrative practice!
Thank you again for using your platform to highlight our profession!

Thanks for such a thorough explanation. I especially like the part where you say you all are activity analysts! Will never look at OTs the same!

Hey I’m thinking about applying to OT school. i already have a psychology degree. However, I have to take 3 to 4 more prerequisites classes, which means I may have to take out a small loan. I’m nervous because I never had to take out a loan for my undergrad, I’ve been debt free.

    Hi Adanna
Do you think is a good idea have a psichology degree and then a master in OT. Because here in my country there is not a OT degree. So i pretend to study psichology degree and then continue with the master of OT

Hello, I've watched your video's years ago and planned to reach out once I got closer to the application process. I plan to become a PA and I want to apply soon. Not a lot of people have believed in me and I don't have any guidance or help. Do you do any zoom meetings or help with guidance for schools to apply to, coaching?

Can i still become a doctor, i am not young anymore. Is there an age limit? I have finished my nursing school but not licensed yet. Which is the fastest path to become a doctor in terms of years of studying? Which type of doctor would it be?

If I was on the path you were trying to get on I would likely first start at looking at the med schools i'm interested in and what their requirements are. Then start studying for the MCAT and apply. When it comes to being too old, I mean those are limitations we place on ourselves. You can learn at any age.
