I think we need to address the main reason why Necrozma isn't as bad: it's type. not dark or poison but psychic, which symbolizes that it's an alien. Necrozma isn't using dirty tricks or direct manipulation (it can use other's plan to it's advantage), it's fighting with honor. all it's doing is getting what it lost to greedy humans.
it's also worth noting that z-crystal's are pieces of Necrozma's body that were scattered across alola so the whole region is actually using stolen powers Necrozma is no different from eternatus in that a whole region is using pieces of its body to battle pokemon using special gimmicks
Yeah its basically its light energy condensed into physical form. Interesting how many sources of power condense into stones like mega stones, wishing star (literally looks like a piece of eternatus) and the crystalization of terapagos' energy.
YES, THANK YOU. anyways, a few things I'd like to point out. not all Ultra Beasts are Malicious/Evil. It would be more correct to say that the Ultra Recon Squad's ancestors took Necrozma's light rather than just Ultra Recon Squad, I mean their ancestors still technically were the Ultra Recon Squad, but... Eh... And with the "In the past Necrozma fought Solgaleo/Lunala for no reason" is kind of wrong, because that was Necrozma's first attempt at trying to restore their Original form, because the Charred Paper in Malie City Library does mention Necrozma trying to steal Alola's Light and becoming Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings before being banished back to Ultra Space.
I mean, bro literally got all of its energy and strength stolen from it and scattered across an entire different dimension, who use crystalized parts of its body for silly dance battle rituals, then when he got mad and tried to get it all back everyone antagonized him for it... Then they beat him up, kidnapped him in a Pokeball, and got enslaved by a child.
Well to be fair lunala and solgaleo werent his they just happened to have similar light powers and they were the only sources of light that would restore his power. Just imagine necrozma as a broken lightbulb that lit up a room (the room stays lit despite the broken bulb). It now lost its light and feels like a husk of its former self, then it sees to other lightbulbs that shine almost just as bright as him. Ofc bro is going to want that light for himself.
I think it was plenty justified. Humans shouldn’t have tried to start beef with this holy light demon in the first place! If this thing had the power of infinite light, it definitely had the power to end humanity as it pleases.
I want to clear up one thing from the vid technically Necrozma in both survived and Moon kept the manga one after it was jumped and caught but still, they did him dirty.
I feel the need to point out to the people in the comments that the Z-Crystals weren't forcefully taken by humanity, they just kind of formed naturally due to Necrozma's light radiation, similar to the Megastones being created by AZ's Ultimate Weapon radiation. It was solely the... (Ultramegalopions?) that captured and stole Necrozma's light. Also, Necrozma wasn't intentionally bringing and army of Ultra Beasts to Alola. It was likely just opening more wormholes to drain light from those worlds more efficiently and the UBs wormed their way through...
Necrozma (a.k.a. "The Blinding One") is a powerful legendary Pokémon who served as the main antagonist in the ultra versions of the "Sun and Moon" games and has a important role at end of the second season in the anime. Necrozma not only possessed Solgaleo and Lunala in order to gain its ultra form but is also capable of pulling off a exclusive Z-Move known as "Light That Burns the Sky" (which is considered as one of the most powerful Z-Moves).
Me, watching the thumbnail: WASN'T IT OBVIOUS?!?!?!?!? Like seriously, people just don't read now or what? Also, you forgot that he used to give his light to an infinite amount of universes, creating life everywhere. Then, he didn't attack any of the people of Ultropolis until he was almost dead. Then, when Necorzma runned away to get the light HE GAVE TO OTHER UNIVERSES BACK, (that light is actually what made Totem pokemon, that's why he too has the same aura), and you know what Ultropolis did? Why are there no pokemon in the place where Necrozma was giving life to everyone? How do they keep having energy when Necrozma has been gone for years? Because they went beyond what AZ did and used EVERY POKEMON IN THAT UNIVERSE TO GET ENERGY. That's why they basically don't know what a pokemon even is. Necrozma is almost a better God than Arceus. He gave light to everyone, and didn't "turn evil" until it was almost dead. And he just wanted to recover. In the games, after he turns into Ultra Necrozma again, he doesn't attack you like he did before. He waits for you to start the battle because he IS BY NATURE A PACIFIC POKEMON. Necrozma is my favorite legendary pokemon, and my second favorite pokemon over all, and I hate how people just say it's a power hungry monster.
“Pokémon has really lost their touch with legendaries” There has been a grand total of one set of cover legendaries since Necrozma that weren’t interesting.
One thing I’d like to add, based on Necrozma’s Pokedex entries, the black coloration on its prismatic body is actually a form of rust that only seems to vanish once it takes on its ultra form, and this rust causes Necrozma to be in constant pain. So in addition to the simple identity blow of being a benevolent and sharing god and having the source of your power and self sufficiency ripped from you by your own people, and being essentially broken as a result, he’s also in constant extreme pain as what remains of his body rusts away. It’s probably the pain equivalent of your skin being on fire, forever. If you were Necrozma and had to live in perpetual physical pain and starvation all the time, and the only way out was to try to return to former power by devouring the light of universes, you’d probably do the same thing. Not even after considering the morality and ethics of it, it would just be so painful an existence that you’ve probably lost it over the thousands of years you’ve been imprisoned, and so if you could find an out, you take it without thinking. Survive first, ethics later.
