Wow! Great clip from the early days ❤ Sharon was 25, Cheryl 23 and Buck 48 that year.
My condolences to the family and many friends who lost Buck. 😔 01/13/25

Sharon White is one of the most underrated singers ever. No purer country voice exists.

The Whites are one of the most talented bluegrass bands...EVER! This was just wonderful! Sharon White sings like an angel. What fantastic harmony....doesn't get any better than this!! Thanks for sharing!

I saw this on PBS in 1978 and it just blew me away. Where did you get this? I've been looking all over. I believe it was an episode of Soundstage with Buck White, appearing with Emmylou Harris. Never forgot that show...

Nice to hear someone else appreciates this as well. I have posted elsewhere on TH-cam their performance of "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" from the same show. That "Soundstage" is my favorite TV concert. Some of the songs by Emmylou Harris ("To Daddy" and "Satan's Jewel Crown" ) sound so pure--especially compared to the album studio versions.

Did you happen to get "My Window Faces The South"? They led off with that one...

Yes, and they finished off their set with "Swing Down Sweet Chariot"--all great performances!

I first saw them back in '72 or '73 at the Blue Grass Inn in Nashville when they had a slightly different name. A group of us had gone over since we were going to have a blue grass band play at our Fraternity at Vandy and we heard they were playing there. They took a break and we went up and asked them if they were the band and they said they were so we chatted. They played two or three times at the house and it was always a great time and I seem to recall them enjoying it as much as we did (course that was back when Kegs were not frowned upon).

That was the first time I saw the Whites. I tuned in to watch Emmy Lou. Big fan ever since then.
