No... They are saying you need to start eating all the colours. I generally prefer the red and yellow ones, but I guess I need to force down the purple, orange and greens too..
Ecdysteroids from spinach, quinoa, asparagus and mushrooms (apparently effective even in microdoses as small as 12mg a day which is probably an amount present in a meal rich with these foods) should be effective at helping build muscle. Food for thought, literally!
If you're talking food, then a variety of colors for anti-oxidants will also lead to a diversity of sources of fiber, which is good. Eating more types of fiber is health promoting. "Eating the rainbow" is a bad cue.
Great question, I was reading some studies on these. Whilere there are some benefits on taking phytonutrients for sports/recovery but it seems that those particular studies showing positive effects are funded by supplement companies. Just like collagen. Meta analysis show that these supplements actually do not contain a lot of phytonutrients, flavonoids because plant matrix is destroyed during manufacturing and not a lot of these chemicals end up in supplements. Buy a half of kilo of blueberries and dark chocolate, that would be a better choice 😂
First off supplementation should be used to fill deficiencies. Second phytonutrients work best in synergy. Example Beet Kale Salad with an avocado oil based vinaigrette.
Big sigh. Those who promote only dietary solutions hardly tell you that in order to have a significant impact just from nutrition alone. You would have to consume that product in excess for a long duration of time to really see the effects. Its not like if you eat a block of tofu on occasion its going to significantly raise your estrogen levels. But if you eat only a tofu based vegan diet, then yes, you may have some concerns at that point.
@@jon-kd5st Thanks , but I didn't ask "how much" evidence, I wanted to actually see the evidence. I'm not vegan so feel free to tell me, because I definitely want to hear it.
@@Huffman_Tree Don't think you'll find much nuance with someone who's also skeptical of climate change or stresses over "wokeness" 😂. I never understood the anti-vegetable arguments. So absurd. If we weren't meant to eat plants, we wouldn't have molars designed for crushing specifically!
A lot of people restrict themselves to an extreme Degree with specific foods and it DOES matter what they eat. Whatever the advice, assume it will be abused. 😉
Biggest benefit of fruits and vegetables? Massive deuces every single morning. I honestly look forward to it when I wake up. Very satisfying.
Those high-fiber diet morning shits hit different.
Slimy, yet satisfying.
We are family.

😂😂😂🤣
So what you’re saying is…add Skittles to your diet?

You guys rock. I’ve watched all your educational videos and Q/As.
How you, 3DMJ and Biolayne have such low subscribers just amazes me
Seasonal, pick a few faves in each color and focus on them.

Me, who will compulsively eat a box of fruity pebbles because they’re colorful
Yes 😂😂
Another perk of eating with more variety would be that you reduce potential risks of specific food items.
Skittles for the win
You had me at dark chocolate. *Reaches for his dark chocolate home-made ice cream*
Nice surprise ending

Do you blast veg year round? remember to pct with baloney sandwiches. Quinoa is particularly suppressive and may result in tiny walnuts.

While phytonutrients are real and have demonstrated benefits, would it be worthwhile to take phytonutrient supplements?

Of course not.

I split vegetables to only two groups, green and red :D, if it's orange, red, if its yellow, green, etc. :D

Fruit and veggies make me feel full, feel good, and feel less full of poop
That has to be the most worked up I have ever seen Dr. Baraki get.
