Ilia Malinin (born December 2, 2004) is an American competitive figure skater. He is the 2024 World champion, 2023-24 Grand Prix Final champion, 2023 World bronze medalist, the 2022-23 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, a six-time Grand Prix medalist (four gold, one silver, one bronze), a three-time ISU Challenger Series medalist (two gold, one bronze), the 2023 and 2024 U.S. national champion, and the 2022 U.S. national silver medalist. At the junior level, Malinin is the 2022 World Junior champion, and a two-time Junior Grand Prix gold medalist. He holds the current world junior record for the men's short program, free skate, and combined score, along with the world senior record for the men's free skate.
Malinin is the first and only skater to land a fully rotated quadruple Axel, widely regarded as the hardest jump in figure skating, in international competition. He accomplished this feat at his first attempt at the 2022 U.S. International Classic, and repeated the feat for his senior Grand Prix debut one month later at Skate America. Malinin is also known for his Instagram handle "quadg0d", which he adopted in late 2020 as inspiration for the quadruple jumps that he was striving to learn.
In September 2022, he was named to Time magazine's Time100 Next List of emerging leaders from around the world who are shaping the future and defining the next generation of leadership.

OK !! Jumps jums jumps lot of quads but what else ? ....Only jumps ? Sorry BUT It s artistic skating ISNT IT or it s only me ? ...Very athletic and very boooooring because big lack of artistic for me ...

It's not just you, we are full of fs fans tired of jumps and even more jumps. Yes, I agree, it's remarkable, but fs is not only that, few skaters are able to combine quads and artistry, currently I think the only one to have 4 quads integrated into superb well-interpreted choreography is Adam Siao Him Fa, and maybe Yuma Kagiyama too, after that there are some very beautiful skaters who have one or two quads like Deniss Vasiljev or Roman Sadowsky who make you feel what I call the artistic emotion that those who are only jumpers do not make you feel and that's where it gets boring to watch, no more exciting than football for me.
