It’s a shame she died, especially after the events of the Body Thief, because it was possible to procure her a new body. Too late for Claudia but tbh I had little sympathy for her.
Claudia brought too much pain to everyone. If she got her way, she would be just as insufferable. She was a brat. No body would have fixed who she was on the inside Edit: I probably had less sympathy for her than you did
I'm a little bit late but thank you so much for this great video ! Armand is such a complex character... I think in a way, he really wanted to help Claudia get an adult body, but "playing" the alchemist was not a very good idea (he did not possess the Philosopher's Stone, but maybe if he did it might have worked ??? - we should ask the Elric Brothers 😂)
Yeah, I believe so to. Considering the era in which he grew up had very limited scientific knowledge, not even Marius’s education would have taught him the risks of such an experiment. Then add the fact that the Children of Darkness that kidnapped him later on was a very wayward, superstitious and old fashioned cult he didn’t share the discoveries of the new age. I also vaguely recall some incident happen during Blood and Gold (unless I’ve mixed it up with an other series) where a vampire’s arm was re-attached successfully using his very own vampire-blood as glue. If that indeed did happen it’s possible Marius told Armand about it and that he was conducting the experiment on Claudia with that in mind. Considering how out of touch Armand was with the modern age and its discoveries in Queen of The Damned it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he had at least a slim belief that that morbid surgery would be successful back in Interview. I also believe both Armand and Claudia were truly desperate at the time, Armand for companionship and Claudia for her freedom, which makes the theory all the more plausible.
@@estelle1783 Oui agreed. Some might think Armand was a "villain" but he's not ! And he was 17 y.o. when he was turned, so sometimes he can be a bit "immature" 😉
I doubt blood type had anything to do with the reason it didn't work. Vampires are not human therefore the same laws of human kind do not attribute towards vampires.
If I'm not mistaken, it was the body of a human woman. During the events of the book "The Queen of the Damned", we see what happens when a vampire attempts to use the "organs" of a human when Maharet, a vampire who had her eyes removed prior to being turned, uses the eyes of her human victims. They deteriorate over time since their host is essentially dead. When a vampire is gifted body parts of other vampires, there seems to be no issue, as seen in the book "Blood and Gold" when Maharet later receives eyes from a vampire named Thorne that are compatible.
Two different blood and bodies? What about the head. The child head would be too small for the adult body. What was Anne Rice thinking when she wrote this? No sense! Makes the characters look stupid because of that it kills the story line.
How sad that Anne Rice never got to see the series. I would have loved to read about her thoughts. She would no doubt have posted them on her twitter or facebook. RIP amazing lady, you're not forgotten.
To be honest the 90s movie is an absolute classic but the series is a masterpiece. I love the early 1900s approach to the story and one scene when Lestat put a beat down on Louis de Pont du Lac it was so brutal. You can really feel the abusive relationship they have and how Louis is playing into the abused victim role trying to find the positive in Lestat. Also the actors themselves are killing it. Sam Reid (Lestat) playing a sadistic vampire who is disconnected. Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, and Bailey Bass all deserve awards for their roles
I share your opinion on AMC's take on story. I enjoy the alterations that were made. However, I do believe there's a chance we've already seen Armand in the series, only going by a different name. "Rashid" seems to have a vested interest in Louie's wellbeing. 🤔 🧛🏼♂️ 😏 Thank you for another great video! 👍🏾 Side Note: I like your voice. I’m wondering if that was why she asked Louis to make Madeline into a vampire. Madeline did nothing aside of being there at the wrong place and wrong time and Claudia more than likely wouldn’t be able to get out on her own for very long both Armand and Benji did just fine.
Claudia explains it in the movie: "You have found your new companion, Louis. You will make me mine. Who will take care of me, my love, my dark angel, when you are gone?" She knows she's not strong enough to turn a human herself. And, as a child in body, alone, especially at night, she'd be immeasurably limited forever. How would she be able to call a taxi? How could she get into buildings, concerts, anywhere humans gather at night by herself? She must have a companion with an adult body at all times, or she can't survive.

True but it kind of lacks conviction to me since the actress doesn't look like she should grow much more lol. Which is understandable since Bailey was pretty much finished growing at the time of shooting this. so the effect is lost. The tragedy of Claudia and monstrosity of turning her was she literally couldn't do anything or go anywhere alone being stuck in a toddler's body. I dont think anyone would look strangely at this show's version of Claudia walking alone somewhere, in fact she does go on her own for a while when she runs away from Louis and Lestat. so this whole idea of her being stuck helpless in a child's body and prevented from normal life like she was in the books is sadly completely lost in the show.
I like all the changes they made for the show, except aging Claudia up. It just takes away the whole point of her character and also makes it really funny when people refer to her as if she looks like a child. She doesn't, she looks like a grown-ass woman, no matter how baggy they make her clothes.
In the book Claudia is five. In the film Claudia is eight. In the series Claudia is 14. Twelve year old Kirsten plays film Claudia. 19 year old Bailey and 24 year old Delainey played series Claudia. Labor laws, skill and talent, and actor growth observation were factors in deciding. If I'm being completely honest, the book, film, and series are hyper-sensualized. Her being five was already a push. Eight is still bad. Even when it was a twelve year old playing the part. A 14 year old sexually active body character is weird. Even still played by 19 and 24 year old actors, respectfully. So, I honestly believe, it was best to age up as much as they could to constrain plot points, but also be able to somewhat make it more palatable, if possible. Not that it should make any difference, but Anna wrote IWTV in the 70s and she was a woman author, with claims Claudia represented her deceased daughter. Had it been written now and, even back then, by a man it would cause more of a stir, for obvious reasons. One example being Claudia (S2) having a relationship with a fully grown adult, at least the plan was to eventually would, would have been horrendous given any other previous adaptation. Even going further with the possible future relationship in theory would have caused a bit of a tinge, given Claudia the character is still in the body of a young teenage girl.
Given that the mind transfer magic has been established now, do you think the AMC team may utilize that bit for Claudia's story? They could use a different actress or simply have Bailey play her actual age or older?
doubt full they are changing some things but over all trying to stay true to the books out of respect for anne rice all the actors as well as the crew were fans of hers.
Just a correction: "The Tale of the Body Thief" was published in 1992. "The Vampire Armand" came out in 1998. The idea of being able to switch bodies was already established by the time of the Vampire Armand novel.
BTW: Your voice, sounds just perfect for Armand. Young sounding but with so much nuance and variation. I adore it. What is that accent you speak with? It really adds to the character of Armand.
At first I didn't like the show because of the changes I heard about until I gave it a chance and it's amazing and I don't give a shit what haters say and If I stayed in that mindset that they have, I would have missed out on this show and I enjoy the changes.. I do wonder if this will still happen in the show. or not, because it would be interesting to see.
At the time I saw the movie I was still terrified of vampires (it was a sad situation- I was afraid of Count Ducula!) Now I look at it and it is so desperately sad! This strange, unending tragedy… probably one of the saddest movies I’ve ever seen.
So these Vampires can continue to develop mentally? I’m assuming Claudia’s brain continues to develop as it’s necessary to grow in understanding beyond that of a child? Also if another adaptation is done, I hope they do find it to allow Claudia to change bodies by switching her soul as Lestat did with the body thief!
Yes, the main reason that they say no Immortal children is because their minds outgrow their bodies and it drives them insane which causes them to get very sloppy and highly noticeable with their kills. The Veil of Secrecy around the vampires must remain intact. That's why the vampires wanted to kill Lestat so badly in The Vampire Lestat. He was revealing all their secrets. It's also why Lestat gets onto Louis for killing the alderman and the esquire. And why they both get onto Claudia after her killing spree that caused the police raid Vampires don't draw human attention to themselves. At the beginning of the show, the fevers are Lestat's kills but he makes it look like an epidemic
Do you also have a Harry Potter channel or had one at a point? Your voice sounds really familiar from a channel I've used to watch. Didn't know Armand did these experiments. I'm not sure I've read that book though 🤔

Just a correction:
"The Tale of the Body Thief" was published in 1992.
"The Vampire Armand" came out in 1998.
The idea of being able to switch bodies was already established by the time of the Vampire Armand novel.
But the characters had bo knowledge within the timeline of the books.
The Body Thief takes place in the late 20th century.
BTW: Your voice, sounds just perfect for Armand. Young sounding but with so much nuance and variation. I adore it. What is that accent you speak with? It really adds to the character of Armand.
Found my new favorite TH-cam channel I am obsessed with interview with a vampire movie & show
Rashid from IWTV 2022 is Armand/Amadeo/Andrzej.
I love the show, the movie, and the books! Although I haven't read any of the books since I was about 15 so I definitely need to check them out agai!
They showed Armand at the end of the latest episode
At first I didn't like the show because of the changes I heard about until I gave it a chance and it's amazing and I don't give a shit what haters say and If I stayed in that mindset that they have, I would have missed out on this show and I enjoy the changes.. I do wonder if this will still happen in the show. or not, because it would be interesting to see.
yeah that sh.. was so terrifying I constantly block it out of my memory....
At the time I saw the movie I was still terrified of vampires (it was a sad situation- I was afraid of Count Ducula!)
Now I look at it and it is so desperately sad! This strange, unending tragedy… probably one of the saddest movies I’ve ever seen.
Armand in the books is extremely beautiful and young
Iam loving the new TV show not disappointed at all x
That season finale of IWTV😬 I had forgotten about this since it's been ages since I read TVA.
Love your channel thanks! could you please resume all vampire cronicles?
I always disliked Armand. Lestat was an angel in comparison
We been seeing armand all season long ;)
So these Vampires can continue to develop mentally?
And why they both get onto Claudia after her killing spree that caused the police raid
Vampires don't draw human attention to themselves.
At the beginning of the show, the fevers are Lestat's kills but he makes it look like an epidemic
Are we gonna get the part 2 to Louie’s life
Wonder will this be added in season 2? (I’ve always found this tidbit freaky, so I hope not!)
I’ll have to see if it is released on DVD in Australia. I loved the books but I read them 30 years ago. I did see the film when it came out.
I love the changes
I wonder if she could of had a woman's body if it was human and not vampire.
my favorite part of this video. . . The lack of propaganda commercials
I’ve read the books but I forgot this part. Likely because it’s so stupid. It belongs in a b movie plot.
I hope we get to see this in the second season of the tv show.
Did you watch the last episode because Armand is in the tv series
Just watched it last night! So Rashid was Armand all along
Oh no, I forgot all about this.
I love the series! And I know that some of the changes were due to Anne Rices' son.
amand has been revealed in season 1
Agree! loving the show changes
Have you ever thought of covering Vampire: The Masquerade lore?
Do you also have a Harry Potter channel or had one at a point? Your voice sounds really familiar from a channel I've used to watch. Didn't know Armand did these experiments. I'm not sure I've read that book though 🤔
He does Harry Potter folklore too
Season finale we found out who armond is can’t wait for season 2 I hope next season is longer 7 episodes ain’t enough
Me as well , I’m so ready for it ☺️
The things we do for love...
Armand is Rashid omggggg
didn't see Armand but figured he was a vamp there were a bunch of clues
Grey worm is Louis?
Its the contacts in the new iwtv for me
Have you not seen the series yet?
Those Who Must Be Kept
I love my almond joy but I do feel robbed that the only "book accurate" representation of him is queen of the dammed how is that fair
I was so hoping for a fellow ginger do play him but alas
No hate tho I still love the movie and show
and we get about 12 seconds of screen time in QOTD
@@VampireFolkloreVideos ahhh yes and one speaking line 😩 everyone was done so dirty in that movie but I have to say the songs are the tits I love them so much
@@thevampirologist3054 Oui, the soundtrack is awesome 👍👍👍
Well this video was made before the last season episode lol
Thank you, nobody seems to have guessed that 🤣🤣
@@VampireFolkloreVideos
Well I come from a time where common sense was common. Keep these videos coming.
I ran into your stuff a week ago.
I regret knowing all these things coz it’s making enjoying the series less because of their changes
The way I see it is that I consider the tv series as an alternative version of the novels, kind of a "multiverse" version 😉 (without Dr Strange and co 😋😂)
I don't have much interest in the show. I am still in morning with our beloved Authors passing. Call me old fashioned, or a relic, but I prefer to read the books as they are written.
Armand is in season 1.
i love the actors for lestat and armand but i dont like louis, as much as i love the actor, they should have found someone more beautiful
Can't wait until the Series' Claudia gets it!!!!
Wrong
Armand is in season 1
Rofl. I'm guessing you haven't seen the newest episode when you did this.
Nope I recorded it before I seen it
Didn't he just explain the experiment three times????
No I explained each characters mindset which led me to explaining the events in different parts
If its not based strictly on the source material its not authentic, i have not seen the shows yet but all other series that deviate from the source material end up fucked and bad in every aspect.
We're all vampires gay??
"A changed version was made..."
Nope! Eff Hollywood!
Anne Rice 🛀
The new series is just a bunch of woke nonsense….The movie cast are still the best versions of the book’s characters.
@@topperharley6070 how do you know it's garbage if you haven't watched?...you have a right to not embrace it or accept it, but to say that it's not a good show without actually viewing it is questionable....i initially decided not to watch it because i really didn't like the movie at all, and thought that would not like the show...but one evening, i decided to watch the show and i absolutely loved it...i just recently watched the movie again, and I actually liked that as well...
Then why take the rights? If you're not gonna follow the source material?
they take the rights so that they "can" do anything they want including not following the source material...
The AMC show sucks
I hate how the new interview with the vampire has been destroyed, and made vamps gay… wtf no way thanks for destroying my fave vamp movie video. I’m not sure if Ann agreed for the change, and don’t even want to know because if she did I would be be very disappointed.
Have you read Anne Rice's books? Because they're gay in them as well, so there's no need to pretend to be a fan if you're not one.
I am pissed about the show. Im sick of the racial preferences to look good. STICK TO THE FUCKING BOOK! its wonderful as it is, stop fucking with our childhoods just to look good to one fanbase. (RANT OVER)
I see the tv series as an alternative version of the books, kind of a "multiverse" version. I've been a fan of the books for many years now, so before seeing the 1st teaser/trailer AMC released, I was skeptical about the changes, but after seeing the 1st teaser/trailer, I was bewitched 😍.
You should give it a try, vraiment 😉
@@m-hm7917 I may, I'm just tired of Hollywood just rewriting over our favorites to cater to people. People like the story as is, and that's what makes fans keep watching. They want the book to come to life and when you mess with character looks it messes with the story
Well get over yourself it will continue to happen and you have the option to no longer support.
@@prettyxbonez96 I won't and I don't. It's cause of this identity politics that movies who do it fall flat on thier face
@@jessi2113 If you haven't watched it, you can't properly judge it.
The AMC series is an abomination
I disagree I think it’s fantastic
@@VampireFolkloreVideos I figured.
That's just your opinion because just because you don't like something doesn't mean everybody else does. I had your view and belief at first, but now I love this series so there's no need for your rudeness.
@@ashleyyoung6107 never once implied anyone had to not like it lol I don't care if you got bad taste or not hahaha don't go putting words in mouth though it's not lady like.
Absolutely ... It's tired identity politics wrapped up in a brand name they've completely defaced. It's total crap.
She is not the mind if a 65 year old woman. She does not have maturity at all
I refuse to watch this new adaptation of Anne Rice work. They went to far away from the books.
It's garbage ... I've been drunk watching it, stopped at the 4th or 5th .. I'm done with it. It's "woke" agenda has destroyed the story... It's not her book. They should've changed the names of the characters and just called it something else.
@@Fiveash-Art agreed 100%
@@Fiveash-Art lemme guess, you don’t like that Louie is black?
@@jimmyramos1989 Lemme guess, another person calling someone a racist because they don't like Hollywood's degradation of source material? 👍🏻.. Great work
@@Fiveash-Art “denigration of source material” translation you don’t like black people in fictional roles-you know in Shakespearian times men dressed up as women and acted their parts out. I bet you would scream “woke!”
I liked the actor that played Grey Worm in Game of Thrones in that show but as Louie I do not like him at all.
8 minutes for Armand? Half of it about a woke tv show? SMH
The producer didn't want to make same movie but too lazy to make new title. This is new story. I think it bothers me because she just passed. Producers own her catalog. Respectful wait morning 1 year.
Armond was a bullerman
You really think the new series is anything but the newst flop?
It has a 99% critique score on rotten.. it’s in no way a flop
