      You are right. He is the one. Julian Assange is the international hero of freedom of information for the people of the world. As usual, the United States is behind governments, like Honduras', that fully intend to rob the people into extinction. Since this is IMF money, the U. S. Deep State is surely behind it.

      @Mario The ruling capitalist class and their political representatives get paid by the loan. The regular people get to shoulder the burden of paying the loan off.

    • @robinswamidasan
      @robinswamidasan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Mario You have to ask yourself why the ruling class would take a loan when the country doesn't need one & impose austerity when the economy is growing @ 5% to 8%. Hint: They are getting paid already by privatization of public resources.

    The issue is that the IMF is not out to give loans to help nation that are in need, but steal from those nation, and in many ways enslave them. The IMF need to be gotten rid of, and a UN none profit loaning system in it's place. Even this will not be perfect, as can be seen what EU force Greece to do. But it be better then the IMF.

    Most of the comments here are uninformed. Answer the following questions: How much does Ecuador owe the IMF now vs. how much they owe China? What was the collateral that Correa signed over to China in return for their loan when he was president? Why could not Ecuador complete the refinery in Manta? Why does Ecuador, an OPEC member, have to IMPORT refined gasoline, diesel and LNG? Why would no one else in the world loan money to Ecuador?

    Very fine interview, but it causes me to wonder why or how Lenin Moreno became elected President, as well as why Rafael Correa didn't get re-elected. Maybe Correa did good as leader but also some bad, enough for the population to vote against his re-election. Such info. would be good or welcome to learn about. Here's some info. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Correa#Presidency Quote: " _... _*_Oil politics_*_ In 2013 Ecuador announced that it will auction more than three million hectares of Amazonian rainforest in the Yasuni Nature Reserve to Chinese oil companies. The indigenous people inhabiting the land protested the deal. They claim that the oil projects would threaten their traditional way of life and devastate the area's environment. Ecuador's Shuar people's women's leader, Narcisa Mashienta, said that the government lied when claiming that the people would have given their consent.[114] The NGO Amazon Watch claims that the reason for the projects is the government's 7 billion dollar debt to China and the desire to get Chinese funding to build a 12.5 billion dollar oil refinery.[114] The 11,000-barrel oil spill to Amazon was considered problematic to Correa's desire to win a third term, because he had tried to assure his critics of him being environment-friendly.[115]_ ". There's a little more with respect to his oil politics under the following subheading. I didn't read the whole page, but if it's only because of his blunderous oil politics that he wasn't chosen for re-election for a third term, then he seriously screwed up in the sense of having done some very good things and then f*cking this all up with his stubborn oil industry ideas. And, now, the country is worse off with Lenin Moreno as President. Ugh.
