    Love the content fellas. At 12:37 "so you're trying to change the industry" was said with a tone that suggests that's a negative thing. Is that accurate and if so why? I get in that mindset from time to time and my ego might need some humbling

    Great vid. Absolutely agree with Coach Ross.
    Could you please give some advice for a cross dominant young hooper (left eyed right handed) his shooting technique right now is more like KDs . But he is struggling a little bit specially when he took tough shots.
    I appreciate your help.

    Is it ok to have a bad form but it works really well?

      "If it's not broken, do not fix it"
      Form dont matters, the only thing that matters is if the shot its going down

      Well, eventually as you grow and get stronger you may need to change it for a quicker release and a more consistent version of your shot. Lamelo Ball had to change his shot drastically to be a good shooter in the nba.

    Speaking as a pretty good shooter myself, I think steph gave all the wrong advise. Footwork does matter but not to a T. No one is gonna know if their knees go over their toes when they jump because you don't look down when you shoot. exploding through your core means nothing. In short shooting is like cracking a whip. It's all about rhythm and getting the release off the fingertips at the right time in the air. Not to soon, not too late. And then like both coaches said, trust yourself, but trust comes with reps from anywhere and everywhere on the court. Close shots first, long shots later.

    I am not defending anyone just playing the devil's advocate here,,,, 1. REMEMBER MECHANICS OF BECOMING A GREAT SHOOTER,,, Steph starts by explaining the importance of legs in shooting,,,,, your argument he is misleading we shoot with our hands,,,,, let's say you went to college for a computer science degree right, before being introduced to the programming first you are first introduced to the core mechanics that help you understand how the computer works, basic maths concepts, computational thinking, discrete maths, THIS WILL LEAD TO THE MAIN CONCEPT/ END PRODUCT EVENTUALLY,,,,have you seen how LAMELO shoots the ball, he does not jump high but you can tell the explosive force his legs generate when shooting the ball, ( if you ever tried shooting the ball let's say from half court instinctively your body mechanics tells you to jump higher or use your legs a bit more than maybe closer to the basket AND this at least in my mind shows the importance of the lower body in shooting the ball,,,NOW SHOULD YOU BLAME A TEACHER for deciding to start teaching what they think is a very key component of shooting,, I don;t think so,, 2. 10 TOES TO THE RIM,,, remember STEPH is a pro he has to twitch a bit of somethings to the normal shooting that HE IS TRYING TO teach,,,, let me give a quick example let's take the step back three if you try shooting this before having the right mechanics for te normal 3ball 9 out of 10 times you will airball it,,,,,there is a podcast between jj redick and cam johnson where Cam johnson explains why taking unorthodox shots is necessary for in game , you might want to change from your shot routine to adjust to in game situations but you don't TEACH THIS ADJUSTMENTS first,,,, YOU TEACH THE BASICS,,,,plus how do you form a rhythm/flow as a beginer without some forming habits ( sometimes not required for the act of shooting but building the muscle memory,, even for NBA players you see them having some routines before shooting the freethrow, good ones , e.g klay with him shooting the air before fts) the 10 toes gives you the flow,helps form the HABIT,, 3. think of it like this you start with the TEXT BOOK shooting but adjust to what feels right and brings more results, I will give a personal experience because of my short hands span I have to palm the ball an use the off hand to generate some more energy more when shooting ( for more control of the ball ) but it is the understanding of why you are not supposed to use them, that makes my accuracy higher than me using them before understanding why I shouldn't ( you be shooting bricks ),,, AS a teacher you teach basics as a learner you adjust the lesson bearing in mind the MECHANICS, even in school remember coming up with pneumonics that are relevant to remember something,,,,,,,4. Imagine Steph came in to teach and be like THERE ARE NO MECHANICS TO SHOOTING, just chug shots like I do,, which would be more misleading ? ,,,,,,, ( PERSONALLY I THINK he is teaching the TEXTBOOK -3 ,, more of how KLAY shoots it than him,,,,,because his shot has been altered to adjust to the game,, I think I have heard him say his father made him change his shot to a higher release point to adjust his height to avoid blocks when he was younger,,,,,) his mechanics today I might say they are not organic even to date he keeps adjusting ,,,, There is this shot klay shoots he is drifting right while shooting left,,, THAT CANNOT BE TAUGHT to someone who is learning to shoot,,,,,,,,,,, ALSO I THINK PRACTICE IS KEY,,,through practice,,,,, you get the feel of what you should change,,,,,, look at tyrese shooting,,,,, he has the basics right , but he has adjusted how he shoots depending on where he is,,,,,,, IN SIMPLE there is no learning without a curriculum, STEPH was handing out the Curriculum,,, EVEN the best shooters don't shoot the same,,,,,,AND YOU CAN'T TEACH TO SHOOT LIKE STEPH THAT IS A GIFT, nature and genes also play a part to his shooting,,,,, ( TO YOUR DEFENCE THOUGH ,,,, CURRY DOES NOT SHOOT HOW HE IS TEACHING IT,,,,,,,,

    I assure you Steph knows what he's talking about l, as it applies to HIM. The knee thing needs further explanation but again, he's not a coach, so he doesn't put it to words the best way. The knowledge he shares here is not for beginners AT ALL though. It's for people who have already mastered basic shot mechanics and are thinking about subtle tweaks in thought process or mental focus points. Truly great shooters are going off FEEL more so than any strict rules.... I don't know the shorter dude's name, but he's insufferable in this vid. Ego is through the roof on that guy. I see his (intended) point but he's way too far up his own ass to understand the nuance that comes with listening to advice from a "goat" individual.

    First of all - I am pretty sure that the best shooter of all time knows a bit more about shooting than coach Bobby or Ross. How many years are you trainers? Did you ever coach really young kids shooting? For how many years?

    • @ThomasFulham
      @ThomasFulham 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, I checked some for myself. You worked with Zach Martini, Denver Anglin, Ryan Pettit, Lou King, Elijah Gertrude, Luther Muhammad - none of them is over 40 perc 3pt shooter. How is that possible?
      BTW - Steph (43 perc 3pt shooter) is probably saying same thing he heard from his dad Dell (40 perc 3pt shooter) and to his brother Seth (43 perc 3 pt shooter). Miracle.

      I bet you Bobby & Ross have spent more time teaching players shooting than Curry has spent teaching players shooting. Guy literally said knees shouldn't come over toes and then shot with his knees in front of his toes. Clear contradiction. They gave him all the credit he deserves saying he's the greatest shooter of all time. But he's not the greatest shooting teacher of all time.

    • @ThomasFulham
      @ThomasFulham 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SavaNedev By calling him a liar hundred times is not giving him the credit at all. It doesn't matter how much time you spend teaching when you teach wrong - will you agree? So how Bobby & Ross is teaching that even their best students can't get 40 perc. 3pt shot?
