- Flathead catfish have been my favorite species of catfish to catch for years. Here are some of the techniques and catfish rigs that I use to find them and catch them.

Than=t was an excellent video. Bee targeting flatheads for two decades and everything you said is exactly true about targeting flatheads on structure. This video really allowed me to put two and two together.

Kris you make it look easy In Northwest Texas I remember a Small creek that certain times of the year We caught those big yellow cats like that . That's where I kinda respected what you said about releasing those huge & yes sir I'm talking 95lbers & up back into the water . Although that particular ranch has since sold to a new owner & I haven't fished that creek in 20 yrs The memories of those huge cats & the times I shared with the older generation are Priceless & I miss those guys Tight lines my good friend .

This video was very helpful to me thank you for breaking it down in ways i can understand and grasp the concept of it I've been extensively researching how to target and catch flatheads and in a sense there somewhat similar to bass but not if that makes sense there a predator instead of a scavenger

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on catching more and bigger Flatheads.
I scuba dive and gotten to observe the behaviour of many species of fish but never Flatheads that needs to be put on my bucket list. It's a bit to muddy for that in are rivers here in Texas you might be able to see your hand in front of your face 😂. It's looks like I'll need to order some of your muddy river bobbers along with the two Flathead rods I'm going to be ordering with my stimulus check moneys in March. I hooked into a couple of monster Flatheads last year and did not have enough rod too prevent them from getting back to the fallen trees that they were living in we are going to fix that problem this spring 😜👍👍.
