I've unboxed my own Ruger American Gen 2 in 7mm-08. Great rifle. Added a Burris E1 4.5-14 ×42 scope and clipped the trigger spring for a nice 2.5 lb trigger pull and am getting 5/8 to 3/4 inch 100 yd groups with a couple of different factory loads. Nuff said!
Would like to see a side by side with a bergara or something at the same price point. Never owned one myself but have a buddy that has owned one in every caliber they offer haha all of them were very accurate for the price point. Only issues were the stock and action
Good call man. I think this and the Cascade look like the best feature set in that $700ish spot rn. My next bolt will probably be one or the other unless I find a good used deal on something older in good shape.
I have a couple of gen1s. 6mm Creedmoor predator and a go wild in 450 bushmaster. I’ll probably get a gen two when they come out with either 6.5prc or 7prc. Plaing with 25 creedmoor and 25 prc right now. Good video.
@charlesbuchanan9203 False. On the Gen 2 standard, when measured with the bolt closed and from the bolt face to the muzzle, it is indeed a 20 inch barrel. The brake adds another inch or so to the overall length.
*My Gen 1 Predator 6.5c has the ACIS Box Mag.* There is an option for rotary/flush mount or box mag. ~8 years ago I made sure to get this instead of the flush mag. Ruger Model 26973 - Accepts any AICS Magazine including Pmags. Great looking rifle. Thanks

730 MSRP. Damn good deal IMO. Cerakoted barreled action, CHF barrel, action glides (unlike on gen 1). Compared to gen 1 American with Magpul stock, it's 3 pounds lighter, has better bolt feel and finish (cerakote), and even if you buy the Magpul stock separate (you don't have to), it evens out MSRP wise. So you get a free stock and more refined action (same action, better finishing touches = smooth action vs corduroy feel). Ruger Americans shoot pretty good, so this + a cheap chassis or ruger hunter stock = budget compact PRS rig you can swap the stock for hunting with.

Interesting! Liked the 1 st. Gen. Why shorten the barrel? Especially on magnums, but also on standard calibers, lose velocity!!?? First thing comes off,is the muzzle brake!! Absolutely no need, especially in smaller, lighter calibers!! Pain in the ears for other shooters at the range, and need ear muffs when hunting!! Counter productive! Maybe catering to the”Cool” factor??? I like Ruger guns but shortening barrels will make me look elsewhere, when looking at a new gun!! Wait and see!!🤔🤔

The stock feels much stiffer than the original. I hope to get it to the range very soon and will be doing a video on it.

Yes it is.
Could you see if your Gen2 will fit in your Gen1 stock? I’m wondering if I buy a Gen 2 it’ll fit in a Krg Bravo chassis stock made for Gen1’s.
Probably won't be doing that. I'm sure they will have custom stocks for them in the near future
Savage hand go country looks the same. Was made years ago. But has a spiral fluted bolt as well. Nice rifle though
More companies are making rifles like this. It's what a lot of people like.

Unfortunately you don't.

As long as Trudolph and the Lefties are in power, never. Bill c-21 just received royal ascent. Law abiding citizens are not allowed to own firearms.
