- Continuing the series, I count 50 things that are wrong with Gen 5! Pokemon Black and White. Most people tend to hate on these games, but why? Could there really be that many problems? I originally did this video 2 years ago with a friend but had to take it down (personal reasons between us). By popular demand I remade this video entirely! Now I have done a 50 Things Wrong video on each of the Generations! I won't be doing one for Black and White 2 because I never played them. But might do a play through sometime. Same here! I thought it was an amazing thing to add! Only for it to be gone in gen 6. I understand why its not in gen 7. Tropical islands and all. Here's hoping gen 8 brings it back

My problem with it is that Ice types only appear during winter. Otherwise I think it was a great feature.
X and Y are in Kalos based in France they also have seasons with DST though nowadays Europe is trying to end daylight saving time

I like the music too. However, if it played during a boss battle with even better music, I'd get irked. Still, it's better than the beeps you'd hear when low on health. Sure you can still hear it, but the music drowns it out considerably.
I kept seeing this in my recommendations and tried not clicking because I was triggered because I love Gen 5, but I’m glad I did. Funny stuff

There are a lot of Bitch Ass Retards who hate the gen 5 Anime for stupid ass reasons. And they also like to exaggerate thinking that Ash Ketchum "reset" or some bullshit like that. Which we know is not true at all.
Generally when I ask to people that dislike the 5th gen why they don't like them, 95% of the time they just say Garbodor and Vanilluxe, like two Pokemon lines are enough to overshadow all the greatness of these games.
Dziga Yu I didn't like that they only had the new Pokemon until after you beat the game. It made the game's eco diversity feel unnervingly shallow after previous generations. Also, the Pokemon in those games had awful move pools. AWFUL.

Their little experiment failed and they never tried anything like that again. When someone is talking about Gen 5 in general I don't expect them to be cherry picking the sequels only.
Yeah then they say gen 4 had the best Pokemon designs, and I'm like but rotom is a literal house appliance . also a good portion of the other Pokemon are just evolved forms from previous generations. Gen 5 was way more creative.
Demetrius Varner Gen 4 had 30 legacy pokon tied to previous generations. A great many of Gen 5 Pokemon just felt like alternate replacements for Gen 1 Pokemon. To me, Gen 3 had the most diverse creative designs and so pokemon-wise, was the best generation so far.
Nooo Mergawd Can't Change Name After 90 Days T-T To me, Gen 3 had the most diverse creative designs and so pokemon-wise, was the best generation so far. They threw Basculin on the Black and White games because they realized late in development that the only fish they had for the games was Alomomola and Stunfisk and Stunfisk isn't even found in the water. Gen 5 diversity wasn't really well balanced. Also, the fossils of Gen 5 was stupid. A large turtle and a flyer with what is quite possibly the worst ability in the history of the games.
Also, Bastiodon was never a Triceratops. Look up ceratopsids. There are a shit ton more species with wildly varying head crests several of which look far more like Bastiodon than a Triceratops.

I was thinking about doing this but most people have said all of the things that are great about these games already. So I might just go through each generation and give my honest opinions in detail good and bad someday.

I remember I found my first shiny in black, but being a stupid kid back then, despite knowing how rare shinies are, I killed it cause I didn't notice anything different in the colorization, despite clearly seeing the sparkle that a shiny pokemon gives off. In case you were wondering what it was, it was a basculin. Since then I have caught 7 shinies, first a shiny makuhita in Omega Ruby while working on the hoenn dex, then a shiny Geodude in a SoulSilver nuzloke (which I never finished, I actually stopped playing it shortly after I caught the shiny since grinding my team for the league was a pain) then i decided to mix in chain fishing while farming heart scales in Omega Ruby and I got myself a shiny luvdisc, then in sun I got a shiny Caterpie while ev training, then I decided to try to shiny hunt for sandygast in sun, so first I tried the sos method and after a week, no luck, then I tried the masuda method and after 600+ eggs no luck, then I tried the sos method again and after 3 days I found it. It was the most satisfying feeling when I found it. Also found another shiny Caterpie while ev training in sun. Lastly in ultra moon I caught a shiny macargo using the ultra wormhole mini game
so game corners are basically casinos but there weren’t any in unova although unova was based on america and whats in america? VEGAS
HeyItsJorge it's base heavily on New York and i believe there's not that many casinos there,plus they had to remove it's cause of the age rating

People don't talk about their sequels enough!
This may sound like a dumb complaint, but while I loved the originals, White 2 is my favorite pokemon game of all time. I just feel like they don't get a lot of love for how much they improved on the originals in nearly all aspects, and I'm honestly really sad about that.
Unova was my favorite region of the Pokemon games, tied with Sinnoh and Johto.
While I did have a few issues with black and white(the beginning was very slow, Snivy was another terrible grass type, Tepig wasn't good, Bianca and Cheren weren't interesting rivals etc.) It was my favorite game to play through

Alberts Choise yeah team plasma was best team, aether foundation was sort of like plasma but didn't feel meaningful enough, nearly everyone but the sages, ghetsis, and a select amount of grunts just wanted to help Pokemon and ended up being good guys in the sequel, it's a bit like how the employees of aether we're good but lusamine fabulous faba and the ones in the basement were evil

Alberts Choise I feel like gen 5 deserves a remake the most, of course after gen 4 and maybe not give one to 6 since it's already 3d but gen 5 REALLY needs one, it has the deepest story of all the games yet it's reputation was destroyed by genwunners, it needs a fresh start with a remake to get loved again, like it's gym leaders actually helped people against bad guys instead of watching people get mugged outside there gyms and do nothing
Only thing I don't know is if they will remake only black and white/bw2 or make two separate remakes, make a time shift after becoming champ (x years later) or just change the story completely so there aren't multiple protagonists. THIS, is what I want from a remake, not just better graphics with some slightly changed features and dialogue and maybe some new forms or after game but a fresh and improved story (not that gen 5 needs to be improved in the story since it's amazing)

@@zoelindwall637 one of the few things they did wrong was giving you a legendary pokemon you had to catch in the story. They had already given you easy access to three plus a master ball in b/w 2 so letting you catch kyurem would have made the games way too easy.
Its gen 5's fault that eternatus was so anticlimactic and ended up making leon even easier than he already was.
But it's still the best game in the franchise.

The main problem I had with this game was that it never felt to me like a Pokemon game. It was a nice RPG where you could train monsters but at no point I felt like I was playing a Pokemon game and I would even have completely forgotten it was even supposed to be one hadn't it been for the startup logo.
Am I the only one who likes gen 5? it's like the final game for 2d character setting (idk what you call that 8bit thing) and X and Y had 3d.

I'm the same, I didn't play B/W in a critisizing way. I enjoyed it for what it was. I even had fun with B/W 2. I really liked what they were going for, for the most part. The music definitely helps me like the game a lot more as well.

Five years ago today I got Pokémon White, I played it all night that night and finished it in February. Bottom line, this game was my first and it was hard to see you tear into it. I can’t deny how amazing this video is though. Happy holidays Brandon, let’s hope you don’t leave for another few months.
Pretty late with this but if you ever want to go back to White, I'd suggest looking into the Battle Subway which was it's version of the Battle Frontier.
Pokémon White is literally my favorite video game in all of existence.
I avoided 5th generation for a long time since the in-battle Pokemon sprites looked extremely grainy and Reshiram's design looked weird to me. However, the recent/ongoing Chuggaconroy walkthrough and Candy Evie's comparison for the 5th gen sold me on it. Now, it's one of my favorite generations~
Me personally I loved Gen 5. How it was like a fresh reboot to the series. They added unlimited TMs, 156 new Pokemon, (the largest in a game to date), had to accustom to the new Pokes rather than the old ones, the music, the story, and added diversity to the games finally. Better than the current generation we have now
When I heard that team plasma were trying to free Pokémon from the confines of pokeballs, I really thought at the end you would release your Pokémon from your pokeballs and have them follow and fight alongside you. You would have told team plasma some of their points of view were correct, and some of yours are wrong, but no one should suffer for this madness. The world is never going to be black and white. Take a good long look at the child's Pokémon, are they crying? Are they pleading? Do they look dis-pleased with their situation? No.

The reason bw has exclusively gen 5 Pokemon was to give the feeling of starting the franchise for the first time. Essentially, 09 isn't a flaw, it's one of the games main strengths. Pokemon White is my fave game of all time, although yes, it does have its flaws.

This confused me about BW/BW2:
In Black and White, Reshiram was the exclusive legendary for Black while Zekrom was the exclusive for White. But when BW2 came out, White Kyurem (Reshiram) was the legendary for White 2 and Black Kyurem (Zekrom) was the legendary for Black 2. So it reversed the legendaries for each version, which caught me really off guard.

i personally couldn't ever hate Pokemon Black and White. my first pokemon game (physical, non-ROM) was Black and White, so most of my memories of playing a pokemon game where i actually knew what the fuck i was doing were there. before someone asks, my first pokemon game was Pokemon Silver on an Xbox original. yes. mods. don't get me started on the N64 emulator.
my only real gripe would be that the Kling, Vanilite and Roggenrola chains seemed to be either extremely basic, or just really unoriginal. I mean, yes, Abra's was parallel to Kling's, but Roggenrola's basically mimicked Geodude's so closely. rock type? check. one evolution, then another when traded? check. that said, Gigalith is still one of my favorite gen 5 rock types.
another gripe is that in the first games of this monochrome duality series, yeah. only gen 5 until the elite four was beaten. Absol on the route to the top right atones for it in my book, though. and yes, the music is undeniably eargasmic.
all in all, i think that Black and White are great games, but it's almost like the difference between fallout 3 and fallout new vegas- it's almost like different people worked on it, and that would makes sense of the differences.
I love Generation 5 so much. I love Unova Region.

The main thing wrong with pokemon black and white (also the gen 7 games), is that you dont get a lot of the good tm’s (earthquake, ice beam etc.) until the end of the game

The problem I had was the Elite Four, they were too OP it took me forever to beat them, cuz I had to stock up on revive herbs and Max revives after I beat the Elite Four I never step foot there again

It’s really nice to see my favorite gen getting some love. I remember when ppl were trash-talking it and whining about the garbage and ice cream Pokémon and praising gen 1 (even though it had poop, a poke ball and a bunch of eggs), but now it’s finally getting the love it deserves. Gen 6 was so disappointing. Sure it had some good pokemon designs, the region itself is beautiful and the graphics are an improvement, but the story is bland and the rivals are jokes. Team flare is trash and lysandre is a pathetic manchild. Overall just a really overwhelmingly bland game.

This generation is my favorite
The thing I disliked about the Gen 5 Games is the fact you could only use the Dreamworld once a day for only one hour and it had to be another 24 hours from when you logged on to get to use the feature again.
All time favorite. Even the sequel was so good. I regret selling mine though. :(
I like the Gym Leader's theme once they are down to their last Pokemon. That's when the battle gets interesting.
I've always wanted to hear your opinion on gen 5
Here's the problems I really don't understand:
1:30 What's the problem with not catching old mons at the beggining? You have enough diversity and options for the main storyline with the gen 5 mons, and that's the only thing that matters in a pokédex for me. Of course, getting the old ones in the postgame is good for pvp players and collectors, but you don't really need that for the storyline that takes less than 30 hours to finish anyway.
5:15 I loved it, because I hate having too much levels. Whether you love it or hate it depends on your expectations for the game.
6:07 The Hayze talked about it, and even if it's linear you have backtraking and optional zones that are worth it to explore so not that bad. And doing the gym leader in a random order is useless anyway, you'll just overpower the ones you skip. But yeah, despite all this it still feels more linear than the previous games.

You said GTS Website when it was actually the Global Link. Also, the Wifi Connection being shut down was not a problem with the game because it was not Nintendo's fault that the company that hosted the servers was bought out. I personally love Gen 5 and I think this video would really be hard to make because the games were so good and well thought out.
