thank you for this video! I just got a Quest yesterday, and set up my channels today. I'm looking forward to streaming. I love fishing too - I'll check out that game!

Awesome video sir! Solid, clear and concise explanation! I am ready to do this ....... I just need Chromecast, splitter, capture card, 5ghz router, and a functioning PC. So basically I’m not ready haha
Hey Ham! Nice video dude. That was really informative mate, thanks for that. I just need to save some money to get all the gear together now lol! Not cheap, this streaming game. I still haven't really got to grips with OBS yet. I know the basics, but it would be good to get a bit more familiar with how everything works. I wish they'd make it a bit easier to stream the quest to multiple platforms, but being a Facebook-owned device, i can't see that happening anytime soon. Great video Ham! Keep up the fantastic content dude. All the best dude. Take care and stay safe man :-)
LOL yeah the amount of stuff required is over the top. A more simple, but less reliable method with AirReceiver is also possible 👉th-cam.com/video/iH86pZBaJDQ/w-d-xo.html
Just saying that there is an option in Sidequest where you connect your quest once, unplug it click on the Wi-Fi sign in the top bar then click "connect" and click on the TV symbol and leave it on the preset settings and start streaming. Boom it's way easier!!
Yes I've made a video on using Sidequest and the streaming option too. I've linked it in the video and in the description. Despite needing more hardware their are some advantage to this method. 1. You do not need to put your Quest into developer mode 2. You get mono audio with the video 3. The aspect ratio is set at16:9 with distortion correction applied without having to change anything. The streaming tips at the end of the video can be applied to either method.
So I’m using OBS I’m having a lot of trouble with the sound, I have an external microphone and also separate external cam, And I’m not getting good sounds so how are you getting subscribe audio my so I think the wrong output I have to have an audio input and audio output for the game
Ham4tw for some reason side quest streaming comes with considerable screen tearing for me. I haven’t checked if it happens in recordings. Also the audio part... who am I kidding- I’m never going to stream anything successfully 🤣
@@chrisperrywv Streaming with the Quest is quite trick in general.Recording and Chrome casting seems fine (no tearing). With SideQuest I have noticed some tearing too. I've not experimented much with the frame rate settings in ScrnCpy (but I've seen the options for it). That might improve things, I will have to experiment.
There's no known way to see chat in Quest unless the game supports web browsing. The only game I know of is Real VR fishing that letts you do that. So you can either peek under your headset at you mobile or what I tend to use is text to speech (speechchat.com) as mentioned at 3:49
Yes I recommend the Mod Mic Wireless I use with all my VR headsets. Note you'll either need to attach it your headphones or the side of your headset amzn.to/2xXXNAb
No and you don't need a receiver at all if you are OK with mono audio from the Quest via the casting mode. If you've already got Bluetooth receiver in your PC you can use that for stereo sound. Just keep in mind if the transmitter and receiver are not AptX LL, there could be some audio delay you might need to adjust for in OBS.
@@HamVR Thanks for that. The reason I'm getting the transmitter is because I was advised I would need it due to an audio delay when trying just in casting mode. However, if there's a way to adjust this in OBS for Live Streaming, that would solve this head ache, or is the only way to adjust it in post for uploading rather than streaming?
@@KayEdwardsGaming You can add a video delay filter and also adjust the audio delay in OBS (I cover it towards the end of the video). You can also correct audio in post production, but make sure your mic and game audio is on different audio tracks. Jump on our Discord if you need any more help.
@@HamVR just had a play. I messed with the advanced audio properties myself last time and it didn't help...but, I just tried again and put a negative figure in and that fixed it! Thank you for showing me I was at least on the right track! I feel sanity has been restored. Should I have any other problems I'll see you in the Discord. Thanks for your time ❤
The Oculus Windows desktop app doesn't provide an end point for casting (I just checked Oculus app version 15.0.0.200.456), like the mobile version of the app does. They should add that feature, it would make things a lot easier for recording/streaming in OBS. You can still stream to desktop PC without the hardware in the video using SideQuest though th-cam.com/video/ulXw2Wk_aWs/w-d-xo.html
Ham4tw ahh i have never had a vr so yeah i kinda used my raw knowledge on vr’s i got scammed on buying a oculus quest btw i got no money left lmao anyway thanks anyway
So what I'm getting from these videos is the only way to effectively stream you footage is an extra 200 dollars of equipment? I don't understand why this is such a pain, I mean cameras and the elgato us USB inputs, why is the quest restricted like this?
I'm having a problem connecting my chromecast ultra to my oculus. My chromecast doesn't show up in the list to connect to and It doesn't even connect to the oculus app either. Ugh. Any suggestions? pls help
Does the Chromecast work with your mobile? I take it you ran the Chromecast setup? support.google.com/chromecast/answer/2998456?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en
I have the same issue and so do a lot of people. I cant even connect to Facebook, cast to my phone or my chrome cast. I just streaming using oculus link but my pc isnt strong enough. But 500$ for a product that's still in beta sucks. I still use it to work out tho. Oculus just had an update and it was supposed to help out with these issues. But I'm assuming only some work properly now.
Diana Salazar yeah, it worked once miraculously after the update where they fixed the bug that didn't allow you to download games RIP. But hasn't worked again since. And yes I did set up my Chromecast dude LOL.... @ham4tw
@@dalgonacovfefe yeah I was so fed up with the fact that i paid 500 for a product doesn't even fully work, that I put my oculus away for a week because I was so close to throwing it through the danm window. If I knew it was gonna be like this I just wouldve gotten the regular oculus

Hi I'm new but HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBS
Thanks dude I'm working on it 😁
Oculus should just add a stream option for all platforms like that would be amazing
That would certainly make things much easier.
they do but its greyed out

Dang- I should have bought the Christy ultra. I don’t even have a 4K tv- but that Ethernet port
You can also go the SideQuest route and see if that's any good for you th-cam.com/video/ulXw2Wk_aWs/w-d-xo.html

one question is there a way to get chat to appear in the headset? or do i need to take off my headset to check it

I agree, you can thank Oculus for that. I tend to use SideQuest screen copy and live with the slight screen tearing that occurs.
