Good video. All my reels have front drag (I got given them so can't complain really) and I just get into all sorts of bother trying to adjust them while holding on to my rod. I think I'll buy myself a rear drag reel......it looks like it might be easier to use. I mainly fish with quiver tip/feeder set up and keep hold of rod so I reckon a bait caster isn't necessary.....although I can appreciate it would be good for the bite alarm technique
Thanks for the breakdown! I was mostly curious about the bait runner real as I’ve enjoyed catfishing once it’s very dark out and I didn’t really get why you would want a real like the bait runner. Probably gonna pull the trigger on one
@@PhillWyattFishing I’ve mostly just used spinning reels and put the rod in a rod holder with the drag set kind of in the middle so the hook can get set but also so my pole doesn’t get yanked out. But my bell rings quite a bit but I don’t hook up as often as I think I should be. Idk if it’s cuz the hook isn’t the right size or if it’s cuz I’m not using a bait runner or both 🤷♂️
@@notblazedfordays9536 that can happen sometimes although I think you could increase your catch rate with more accurate indication from bite alarms, bobbins, and free spool reels.

No problem. Yea I would say they are pretty much essential for bite alarm style fishing for large Carp, Sturgeon, and Catfish.

Hi, im new to fishing and got a baitrunner. Can i use it in beach and can i use artificial lures like spoons on it?
Yea I guess you can use it at the beach. Just don't bother to use the rear drag. You can just use the front drag for casting lures.
